  • This is why I stopped smoking weed, how it affected my spiritual awareness & how I live my life now ! Drugs, or as I prefer to see them, medicines, can be very therapeutic and positive. I don't see weed as a negative thing and I know people who smoke every day and are very fulfilled and accomplished. I am very mellow in this video sorry if it was boring :/

    I stopped smoking because, I didn't want to pay a drug to make me relax. When I could just meditate and work on my art to calm my nerves. I love your thoughts!

      Smoking weed isn't actually good for you and your brain. It's a gateway drug and is bad for you no matter what people say.

    • @moniquew9983
      @moniquew9983 7 років тому +13

      I smoked weed for four years on and off. I quit because I'd like to use my money elsewhere, not because It was bad for me. I have never felt the temptation of doing any other drug. In my personal experiences, I find that drinking alcohol is far worse than smoking. Your opinion is your's, but you should fact-check before you claim weed is bad for people. I'm a college student with an excellent gpa and I have a decent job. So far, weed hasn't ruined my life.

    • @janetrose6560

      Different people are more susceptible to different things. Many people who take weed on a daily will want to search for a stronger high, leading them to many more harmful and dangerous drugs. Studies show that some people in the population are more likely to have a psychotic episode than others. Different backgrounds can also affect this. Yes weed has many medicinal benefits for people with health problems, but it also has negative effects. I said it's bad for you because there are people that are more likely to get bad side effects from it. And yes I have "fact checked" this lol I'm a college student too who takes a minor in scientific psychology where we learn the different drugs that affect the brain and behaviour. You can't say weed isn't bad for people because you don't know the different people that take it. Everyone is different and some are more sensitive to the drug than others. Thank you very much.

    A lot of people think that weed helps /everyone/ when that isn't always the case! It can trigger dissociation and make some peoples anxiety and depression even worse. (haven't experienced it myself but my best friend did and i'm always worried about it which is why I haven't tried smoking it for myself)

    I stopped drinking two years ago and smoking weed really helped me stop drinking (I was drinking every single day for years). Then weed was just a replacement and I started smoking every single day and it began to give me a lot of anxiety and I had a severe panic attack, so now I've stopped smoking too and being sober has been really amazing. Don't get me wrong, I really loved smoking, it helped me paint a lot more and get my creative juices flowing, but everything in moderation. :) xoxo

      Cassandra Woodson if you have to replace it with another drug long term it's shit. as a quite young ex opiate addict I can tell you that nothing feels better then being in control of yourself fully, whitout letting a drug manipulate my sense. this also counts for substitutes. you're literally changing to a less harmful addiction. but it's still an addiction and still harmful.

    Maybe if people didn't abuse it at such a young age and realize it's for people who have medical problems, it wouldn't get such a bad rep. It helps so many people. I laugh when people who drink every weekend say they're against marijuana. I'll take a joint over destroying my liver any day thank you.

      Christina Gonzalez 100% agree. I used to drink at parties and party a LOT but now I only do occasionally & refuse to drink more than a beer or something like it's just such an icky feeling. I feel a lot more in control with weed if I ever do smoke it

    • @brookrobertson9383

    • @bloop382
      @bloop382 7 років тому +13

      Brook Robertson weed has short term effects on the brain and no effect on the liver. Weed would probably only affect someone long term who's smoking it at a young age. alcohol effects both long term and can kill you.

      It is not bad for your lungs, old wive's tail nonsense. It is not a danger, there isn't one death. Smoking weed will not put anything there that wasn't there in the first place. Smoking is a social experience, and the different strains have different effects. That being said, it is not for everyone. Also, too much of anything is usually a bad idea.

    Wow. I relate to this so much. Especially the 'waiting for the high to pass' thing. Nothing beats being creative and productive and making things for me, to get me to that really happy place, yet when I'm high literally all i do is just sit around doing nothing. No external stimulation or interactions at all. Smoking weed has never been anything like what I thought it would be before I started smoking, and if anything it has made me appreciate my sobriety so, so much more. I also feel I am very spiritually aware and that that connection is so beautiful and raw only when I am fully conscious. I have so much more to say but thank you so much for making this video! I only smoked weed a few times and I have pretty bad anxiety and for some reason after the first time I smoked weed I got the WORST depersonalisation that would come and go on and off for weeks... I haven't smoked it since, because it scares the crap out of me.. sometimes if I'm stressed out, my depersonalisation will pop up, seriously the most horrible feeling of not knowing where you are, what your doing or what you were talking about with someone.. This video was actually so helpful and really comforting to me I feel like it gave me a lot of closure because for the last maybe year I've smoked everyday but I have smoked for maybe 4 years on and off but never daily until about a year ago, for the longest time it made me feel happy like an actual spiritual happiness it would bring me a warmth inside and make me feel motivated and great, up until maybe 2 months ago I always really enjoyed it but now I feel like it almost triggers my anxiety and definitely amplifies my anxiousness since being high makes heightened, the anxiousness just gets stronger and way more intense. I don't get this way every single time but most. I've still continued to smoke only because it's become a habit I don't even think I enjoy it anymore but I kind of rely on it now to make me feel better even though that's not what it's doing! I've been wanting to stop smoking for a while and this really made me feel better about stopping! Good to know I'm not the only one feeling this way!

    what you said about liking being sober is what i've been trying to explain to people my entire life! i got drunk once in high school and it was just. i didn't enjoy it. i didn't feel in control of myself, it made me tired, and just sapped out my energy. i think a huge part of it is my bipolar mood disorder and my anxiety. i've never been super in control of myself or my emotions, so to become even less so is just. no enjoyable for me.

    Your purpose and intention behind smoking the herb is also very powerful. Your mind is what determines the experience. There are lines and boundaries where overuse of anything is not good. You have to control your mind. Never use anything to try and make your mind feel better. Connection to the soul takes care of that

My anxiety has gotten better but I would’ve never known my anxiety was so bad deep down if it wasn’t for weed. So I would never regret my smoking phase. It helped me dig up things that needed to be taken care of,

    Thanks for sharing your story and experiences with marijuana.
    I want to become a Law Enforcement Officer and where I lived I saw a ton of drug activities and illegal activities.
    I'm now more than ever more spiritual than any other moment in my life.
    Thanks again.

    all that you said about how you started to smoke weed and how you stopped was very relatable, i started smoking very young and made stupid decisions with my friends which lead me to be suspended from my high school, but it taught me a lot about making responsible decisions because I am still a minor. The good thing about going through the trouble I went through with the school and police is that I am still young and I can at least get a second chance and get the shit I did off my record.

    I'm at a place where I've experienced the power of weed as medicine, and incorporated it into my practice in a productive and controlled way. However, my addictive tendencies took over and now I have a very unhealthy relationship with it. My depression is also at one of its all time highs, as is my anxiety (I notice my jaw clenched literally all day, I have this nervous tick that I've only ever had a few times in my life where my voice trembles all the time like a bird, and that's back, etc...) and I remember how much your videos helped me before, so I'm binge watching them hoping to get some inspiration. I haven't done yoga in months...anything...

    I pretty much stopped when I smoked and couldn't talk at all. I could feel everything move and felt patterns being created wit every movement I made and I got fixated on those. After that I went to sleep but still woke up high.
    That pretty much put a stop to my smoking cos that was scary as all hell and the people with me were actually worried about it.

    I agree with you. I've smoked everyday for the past 7 years but I think that if you do smoke you should always keep these things in mind. I went from smoking like 8-10 joints a day in high school to smoking about 1 or 2 times a day for the past 2/3 years. Smoking should always be done in moderation & you should always smoke once you've finished everything that needs to be done for the day. There's nothing like a blunt at the end of a busy day, knowing you can relax because you taken care of the days tasks sober. Priorities, priorities, priorities.
    I think people just need to be honest with themselves & stop lying to themselves. Weed is something that should help you out at the end of the day & it shouldn't be something that controls your life.

    I have recently started the process of quitting after 8 years of daily smoking about 0.8g-1g of high grade or UK Skunk. Note that I started when I was 20 and stopped at 28. I am about 1.9m tall and 70kg. In the first 2 weeks I drenched 2-3 t-shirts a night, no appetite, insomnia, depression and anxiety. I would start fidgeting my fingers at times as well. What worked for me to keep the symptoms mild was chamomile tea, Magnesium and B6 supplements, running or doing push-ups for 10 min/day. In terms of my mental state I realised the the biggest deal breaker was my attitude towards it, because I would keep telling myself that I have to stop. As soon as I decided to say to myself THIS IS GOOD, I AM ENJOYING NOT SMOKING, MY BODY LOVES ME FOR IT instead of "I have to stop", everything became so much more easy.
    Keep in mind I am 2 months into it and I have no more cravings, depression is gone, anxiety as well, my lungs feel free(no more fleghm in the morning) the only thing that is still lingering is the cloudy brain. I still find it difficult at times to keep focused for long periods of time, but I see that improving every week.
    Keep strong and don't fall back into the occasional 1 spliff won't do me harm. If you are like I am, prone to addiction, TRUST ME you will start again.
