      I used to actually put the tumble dryer on just to help me fall asleep until I realised there are vids on youtube to help.

    I would lie across the washer and dryer while my mom did laundry listening to her and my dad's voices growing ever distant as I drifted off to sleep. Thanks for the memory.

  • @ricklong30
    @ricklong30 9 років тому +18

    When I was a baby my mom had to do laundry for a household of five. We had a large utility room in the back of the house where we kept the washer and dryer and my mother had set up a small TV (we're talking pre-cable here) and would watch her afternoon shows while she folded and washed. She would keep me in the "baby bucket" (just aged myself with that one lol) on top of the dryer right next to her while she did her house mom thing and I just slept the whole time. To this day, despite being in my 40's now, the sound of a dryer is the most relaxing sound for me and I am asleep, or at least relaxed regardless of what is bothering me, in minutes. :-) Throughout the years I have had pets that would (and still do) snuggle up and sleep beside me whenever I have the machine going and I am sitting there next to it.

      Okay I've been coming here for the last 5 night's... always chuckling slightly... as I re-read your comment and say to myself "We actually got the big age hint when you said pre-cable, hahaha!" =]

      Interesting angle on animals as my friend has a cat that will roost on top of her dryer when it's laundry time and another's dogs will seek out the dryer and washer when in operation. Plants and fish seem to respond as well.

    This helps me sleep along with other white noises everynight, silence just freaks me out and this also really helps tinnitus! I heard its due to the sound waves of white noise sort of lines up with brain wave acitivty and relaxes you an helps clear your mind easier for sleeping.

      @Tom p
      For Tom or ANYONE w tinnitus ! I keep seeing comments in Randall’s vids about his white noise vids helping w tinnitus, that’s awesome this helps ThankYou to RRR ! Sweet ! But I just gotta add this...💜
      My 💜 goes out to all of you w tinnitus & oh how I wish everyone w tinnitus could get this one main message that I feel would finally bring them relief finally from tinnitus. If any one with tinnitus happens to catch this message, please try this, if this resonates with you in anyway, and research it.
      1-Excitotoxins are vascular constrictive.
      2-Excitotoxins breaks through the blood brain barrier, and
      3-Excitoxins makes our bodies hold water. And research AND EXPERIMENT w this -Excitoxins makes us hold water sooo much to the point that this water will never flush from out lymph system UNTIL, until we get off of Excitoxins. Now we’re talkin detoxing when flushing lymph system, It takes 21 days to get out of your body btw. I swear your head will even shrink and your skull will also change shape. I totally think Excitoxins makes ppl have water on the brain, in other words please quit eating Excitotoxins & actually this info is beneficial for everyone but especially ESPECIALLY
      if you have tinnitus !
      How do you do that
      you may ask ? First of all, this ingredient is put in the food to break us addicted to food, so it’s going to be very addictive until you get it all out of your system. It will sneak back into your food by your unconscious- ness bc it’s so so addictive and we unconsciously keep going back to it and you will
      “ be back on it” if you cheat from what I am saying to do to get off of it, so don’t cheat ( chances are it will happen, if so get right back on track, by that time you would have put some weight back on, so don’t be stupid don’t do it, the stuff is sneaky, I’m telling you). Look up USDA organic label, so everything you eat must have this label without fail.The word organic can be snuck onto packaged foods just by having a couple of organic ingredients in it but if it doesn’t have that label it’s not really organic.The other thing that you can do after you get off Excitotoxins quite easily that you could have never done before is this, anything you ever wanted to cut out of your diet, after you get off of this now you can clean up ur diet even more (namely sugar & meat), as long as you stick to this plan that is. Be sure to check your shopping cart before you pay for anything to make sure you’re not buying stuff (hidden Excitoxins & sugar, etc) you should not eat SRRY but if ur gonna stick to this you can’t eat out at ANY restaurants anymore, at all ! Even if they claim to be organic because a lot of times, they are not actually 100 percent organic even if they say they are. It’s that important that you stick to this.
      - The why ! You eat 100% organic, Why ?
      BC of AuxiGro ! Google it plz ! It’s the three-part ingredient that is pesticides, Excitotoxins, and an antidote for Excitotoxins, and you don’t stray one darn bit. How can I afford to eat organic you ask ? You eat like you do when you’re broke, think beans/rice, potatoes, eggs, peanut butter sandwiches, soup, organic bread at the day-old bread store, and I can’t stress enough 100% including everything you drink. A lot of grocery stores have their own “Organic” labels NOW that are affordable, finally, eating organic is totally affordable. And your health will turn around in so many other ways as well, pass it on to others to pls try it, and that’s for anything that’s ailing you not just tinnitus !!! Please & GBU ☮️

    A friend's cat also keeps her company when she is doing laundry and relaxes on a special towel on the dryer while it is going. I myself used to commandeer the dryer when I was quite small and "fly" it over uncharted jungles and the North Pole...they'd find me asleep on top of the dryer or in a heap of laundry eventually. Never got over its effect.

    Love this site as it is a wonderful tool to alleviate the stress of the day and to meditate or just prepare one to sleep soundly for the rest of the nite. So many pleasant images are called upon perhaps thru childhood or even recent calming visions and sensations that are released thru these gentle rhythms of Randalls'. It really should be extended to 10 or 12 hours. Have an easy and fun introspection!

    I heard of a booster club that repeatedly met in a laundry room and came up with several creative ideas that they won awards for their efforts-thx to white noise!
    It seemed their Activity Room was too active and distracting and inadvertently they wound up in the Condo's Laundry room with some surprising results!

      +Big bad wolf As mentioned before about my friend's cat and her laundry ritual-another brings in "sick" plants in her laundry room and restores them to good health. She figures the indirect lite from the sun, the warmth of the dryer & washer and the "white noise" of the machines as well as her attention to them does the trick! Who's to say she is wrong in her estimation of her own conclusions.

    I met a man recently who is a field tech who works routinely on commercial washers & dryers for laundromats, residential & industrial properties. He admitted that even he was susceptible to the "White Noise" and would often "go out like a lite" especially on cold winter days...occupational hazard I would guess!
