took me a while for me to focus my thoughts after watching Hi Ren, the first time. my mind was blown, nobody, and i mean nobody does music like this. the nearest to dumbstruck and emotionally sledgehammered i got from a song was Johnny Cash with his cover of hurt. that was a sledgehammer as well, then i discovered REN, the rest is history.
I'm old, Fat, and crusty; good to know ya. I can see that you, like me, have 'Lived Life'. I could see the pain, and empathy in your face and eyes as Ren Preformed this work of Genius; especially while he gave the monolog at the end; much respect to you just for that. Everyone has that side of themselves that they internally battel with; it is part of the 'Human Condition'. BTW, I subscribed.
What is there to add that wasn't already said in the video, right? The best thing to add is how you personally relate to the song. You seem to me like the type of person that does not like to share personal stories of sadness so as not to sadden the person who listens. Little do you know, the person who is listening would feel better knowing that they are not alone with similar thoughts. Great reaction, thank you!
You being speechless at the end is how I feel after, no matter how many times I've heard the song. When you were addressing mental health/society/life struggles in the middle of the reaction, it got to me. I have a hard time finding the right words sometimes, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts that felt much more personal than "just" a react video. Sorry for the long comment, I have been meaning to get to your content, and I'm so glad I did. Thank you.
This is the video. This is the video that finally got Ren the attention he’s always deserved. The first time I saw him was in the documentary “UNREST” in 2018. I thought that boy was special. I tried to find out more about him, but I didn’t really get anywhere. Then December of 2022 comes and “Hi REN” pops up on my home page. It took me a year of following Ren to figure out that the man I adored was the boy from that documentary. I still love the song “Patience”. I guess that boy grew up and found me! Turned out to be one of the most important days of my life. Are you feeling it?😉❤️
Try something lighter now. The Big Push doing a mash up of I shot the sheriff, road to zion and hip hop... they're playing on the streets of Brighton (it's busking)
Not sure Ren has a "norm", every song is different, check out his band The Big Push, and also his collaborations with Sam Tompkins, Chinchilla you won't be disappointed. He also does acoustic versions of some songs that are totally different from the studio versions, so watch out for those too x Hi by the way
