- Every Thursday the Scottsdale Gallery Walk is hosted by the Scottsdale Gallery Association in the Scottsdale Arts District. We begin our tour of art on Main Street by talking with the president of the Scottsdale Gallery Associaiton, French Thompson, designer/owner of French Designer Jeweler (found online at frenchonmain.com)
We head across the street to Signature Gallery, run by one of the sons of the talented painter, Charles Pabst. My main interest in Signature Gallery are the paintings of Malcolm Furlow, a native american painter known for his abstract western art.
Altamira Fine Arts is just down the street, where I am able to come into contact with a Kenneth Peloke, but my focus here is the artwork of Travis Walker and that of Geoffrey Gersten. Travis Walker is an American Painter with focus on pop-culture reference paintings of the American West. If you remember a previous interview I did with Walker, he is also the executive director of a non-profit Teton Artlab in Jackson, Wyoming. My interest in Geoffrey Gersten is for his whimsical color pallet as he portrays contemporary pop-surrealism (contemporary surrealism).
Legacy Gallery is known for its classic western art, and because Scottsdale is known as the most western town in the old west, it is a must see for anyone interested in the wild west and landscape paintings.
