Ageism is crazy. I remember when I was 22 my mum said I was too old to go to university, I did it anyway. People have different ideas about what is “old” ... age is just a number, never let it stop you from doing what you want to do in life.
01 .04 Exactly, hearing that response from her was really disheartening at first, she made me feel like I was being ridiculous, then I realised how ridiculous SHE was. Sure I didn’t go to university right out of high school, but I was by no means old and I wasn’t going to let her stop me and I’m glad I didn’t. I’ve since had amazing opportunities through my university - it was destined to be :D But isn’t it crazy how ageist some people can be?
BJC I love hearing stories like this! Can you imagine if she let ageist people get to her and didn’t go to university and become a doctor!? We would have one less life saver helping us out and she could potentially be working a job that wasn’t her true interest.
I am soon to be 64. Inside I am still 30. I wish someone would have told me not to waste years worrying about getting old. Just love, forgive, and realize there is beauty at every age. If you think 30 is good, wait till you see what 40 has in store! I was never so content to be who I am. I felt absolutely grounded and happy and peaceful. Still do, even though I'm just a smidge over 50 now. Life is awesome!

I'm so glad you said "content." For me, contentment is about being in the moment and grateful for the day. To achieve contentment is a wonderful thing, and to appreciate it at only 30 years of age is a lovely thing. It took me longer, but I'm there too. Many you continue to feel content, for all the years ahead.
I'm 24 this year and I am currently at the state where I wish I could go back to when I was 20 or 21. I am feeling pretty lost in life, I am not sure where to go and what to do. I felt like this throughout my entire 20ties. It's ok, many of us feel/felt like this. Especially now, when we have so many others to compare with (without knowing their whole story), it is so easy to fall into the impression that everyone is doing better and has things figured out. The day will come when you will feel fine and happy with who you are and where you are.

I can’t even lie at 19 I’m already struggling with worrying about age. I always think about not being a step ahead and reaching success but I’m trying to realise that there’s no time limit on reaching for your dreams. I’m 27 turning 28 in May and I can relate. It feels like just yesterday I was turning 21 and never realized how fast time goes. It has taken time to embrace who I am and to embrace getting older in a world that seems to glorify youth.

I just turned 29 and I've been extremely insecure with it and the desire to be younger. I remembered watching this video years ago and came back to it now. yes about what you said about being in your 30's. It's so refreshing to just have this acceptance about yourself. There was so many thing I hated about my body and face, my life when I was in my 20's and now, I'm sooooo glad I didn't do anything drastic to change me back then. Being in your 30's is so ...freeing, and just a really relaxing time.

I used to have this complicated relationship with Taylor's content and personality back when she was 24-25ish...I liked her sometimes but also felt off about some things she did, thinking's she was childish or superficial...(silly thoughts). But now I see such a mature, sweet young lady that has grown and become an admirable adult, as I also grew up and changed my perspective and opinions. I feel what Taylor says about blocking her age in the comments because she felt the pressure of staying younger because she wanted to be at a certain point in her life that maybe she wasn't yet... I really admire this girl, I like listening to her opening out about this kind of stuff ❤️

I just turn 30 too! And I totally understand understand what you mean. I've never been more confident and comfortable with myself. Look on my back at my twenties I was busy trying to get affirmation from others, trying to be popular, trying to be wanted. But now I feel so free and chill and I want to focus on myself, self development.
I haven't even finished the video yet, but I had to write this. I didn't feel pretty for about 5 years of my life. I'd hide things I didn't like about myself and when people tried to get to know me I tried so hard to hide my 'flaws'. I'm just 21 but I can still relate a lot to what you are saying about age and confidence. I've started to accept that I am me, flaws and all. I have this huuuuge fear of dying, especially after I turned 20, but it's getting better. I might be a lot younger than you but what you said really struck a cord with me. I am an atheist and not spiritual so I'm just trying to think of it as "the journey and not the end destination". So far its getting better, so I guess it's kinda working? I keep sending them my existential crisis thoughts and may have made them question life a few times 😂

You will! Try not to measure your success based on others.. I always looked to girls my age who were married with kids and stable careers (a model and youtuber is quite unstable, you never know what you’ll make each month) or girls a lot younger than me who were killing it in my field and felt a bit lost. With time you’ll figure it all out and all the paths you’re taking now will lead you there so just keep going and doing what makes you happy!

I feel like “omg, 30 is just around the corner and I’ve been single all my life and I’m so lonely...I wish I was 20 again so maybe I can really look for men who are single like me too...” (most men my age are married where I’m from) but then I think “nah, when I was 20, I was way too insecure too...”
I'm 34 Now. I had a massive freak out from 27 to 30, I look much older now. But I care less now too. A better life comes from being comfortable in your own skin. But it also takes time and wisdom to get to that point. I still have insecurities etc. But they're mine and make me who I am too. :)
I’m also 34 and in a relationship. I’m not married neither I have kids. I started having insecurities after 30 but we only need to accept it. Each person is different and we shouldn’t compare ourselves with others

Im almost 29 and i feel the same way. I tell myself im just a late bloomer and that everything i did that got me at this point in my life was something i wanted to do. Doesnt always work. Im not afraid of getting older. Or looking older. But i do feel im not where im supposed to be at my age sometimes.
My main concern is children. I didn't want kids till I was in my late 20's and it smacked me in the face pretty hard. Now that I am 30, I know I still want children. I do have a fiance and such and we're not trying just yet, but it's always so hard when you have co-workers all getting pregnant and sharing stories of pregnancy woes. I too, want to experience it and to become a mother (even if it's gonna be rough). >_
I can hundred percent support what Taylor spoke of how when you get near/at thirty you are most comfortable with yourself and things just fall into place. Where you are more at peace with the world etc. I wish I could give the feeling I have being older to all the people that I see struggling with who they are. My twenties were the hardest for me, all these things like never having a dad suddenly bothered me when they didn't. The world came crashing into me and it was a long road. When I was about twenty eight suddenly things just began to feel ok and I began to find peace.

It's amazing that as beautiful as you are, you still struggle with insecurities. Thank you truly for opening up about this because it just goes to show that we're all so hard on ourselves for things we can't help. All of us are so beautiful in our own ways and at different points in our life. Ageing shouldn't be something scary but something to celebrate and rejoice about for the fact that we have so many amazing things we can do here on earth each and every day! Beauty is just one of the many aspects to life, but there's so much more to us as people and beauty is such a subjective thing which is always changing. I work in a job with alot of Young pepole and i hang out with alot of Young pepole since i dont have kids and my friends who are in my age do so i dont see then that often since they obveiusly have kids to look after . The more people know you, the more will talk about you. The more you have seen of the world, the more you have to compare with your life, your choices, your happiness. It is all relative. There is your world and there is a million more out there. You said it right: find your balance, find the people you feel comfortable with, find the things in life that really make you happy. It will come with time and knowledge. Learning to ignore pressure from society, trends, news and other influences. I am 31 now and still try to figure out life. I just turned 19 and I always felt that I’m lagging behind the people in my generation since it seems that they’re achieving much more than I am. I felt a lot of insecurities. I still am facing insecurities now but growing up watching your videos always cheered me into being content with who I am. I know that I just need to be consistent in my mindset that it’s okay. I am okay the way I am and will be. I dream to become comfortable with my own skin as I grow. That’s why I am excited for the future and to what it holds. That getting ready talk... Couldn't have said it better. We all were afraid of getting older due to the stereo type of being young at twenty and how it's your best years. It's all BS!. It is horrible and I wouldn't want to relive them. Turning 30 was amazing. It really does change you to the core and all of a sudden you are calmer and poised and confident. But back then not knowing anything, I remember turning 25 and it's a count down to 30 I was so upset and was depressed for two months. Now I'm in my 40s and, never thought I'd say that but.... I'm 27 and I have no idea what I'm doing and what life will bring, but I don't let other people's milestones influence my life choices or expectations of what I should have achieved by this age. Tom melts my heart as to how sweet he is, but he's a lucky man to have such a smart, sweet, gorgeous wife! I mean that, and you've really shared how you've grown into a beautiful woman and I think any of your followers would agree that you've really come into yourself and it's a lovely thing to see and such a big thing to share! I am in my early thirties and it only gets betters and better from here. I look back at who I was at 20 compared to who I was at 30 and it's a vast difference, but it seems to really smooth out and feel so much more comfortable being myself as the years keep coming.

Lol I used to get so upset about turning older in my early 20s. I used to wish I was still 19, then 21, then 23. At 25, i finally figured out something. Some day future you will look back at present you and you will ALWAYS think "I was so young back then... I had so much time. I could have done this or that". And so I started thinking... To future 35 year old me... I am so young with the whole world ahead of me. As long as you're still kicking, it's never too late to do anything. The best time to start will always feel like it should have been in the past so if you start now, future you will thank you. The important thing is to never ever limit yourself or let other people limit you because that will usually be your biggest cause of regret. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Don’t worry you will get more comfortable and confident! people always told me that ‘it gets better with age’ and I didn’t believe them, I was terrified.. and at the same time I had my industry pressuring me to stay young to earn more money.. but just keep going and you’ll start to find yourself❤️
i turned 21 last month and ive been going through the roughest patch ever since i turned 19 ive had a few very very low lows and one or 2 periods of the highest highs in my life so far so its comforting hearing that by the time im 30 ill know who i am. you and Jenna Marbles have actually really shown me that recently. i noticed that both of you once you indiviudally reached about 28 you both just gave up trying to impress others and you just showed us who you truly are
"25 to 28 were my most difficult years" ...MINE TOO. I went through so much crap in my late 20's and I had no idea what I wanted to do with myself. My 30's so far have been awesome, so you are not wrong when you say things get better in your 30's. I am far more sure of myself these days and I am so much happier than I have ever been.

So, this coming February is my 29th birthday. I've been feeling a ton of fear about turning 30 lately for some of the exact reasons you stated - Not feeling like I'm where I should be, feeling like I'm running out of time, putting too much importance in staying 'youthful'. This vlog really helped calm my insecurities. I've been trying to reflect on my 20s and remember the lessons I've learned and see if I'm better off now than I was when I was in my early 20s. While I haven't reached all of my goals - I have a very solid group of friends that I trust and feel comfortable with, I know what my goals are -definitively, I know what I need out of relationships, I take better care of my health - physical and mental, and I know my limits and when to walk away from situations without being taken advantage of. I have every faith that my 30s will be fulfilling. I'm grateful to my 20 year-old self for the trials she had to go through to get here, but I think I'll be able to enjoy life a bit more in my 30s. Thank you again for being so candid with us.
Speaking of age... I’m 45. I took my profile pic in January ‘19. True happiness makes you look younger, which is irrelevant really (how old or young you look). The truly important part is that it really does get even better... settling into your skin, your spirit, your values and integrity, being true to who you really are. It definitely does just get better and better. There are, of course, rough times because you’re even more ready to look inward and address more deeply the things you find that you want to work on internally. Sometimes it’s scary, but it’s ultimately beautiful because you’re shedding parts of yourself that no longer serve you. You can see even more and passionately love your true, amazing, unstoppable, fierce, glorious self. The older I get the more beautiful I feel. For real! I love me and I’m so happy to see you loving who you truly are! Congratulations on entering your thirties! Enjoy every moment. Appreciate the rough times for the growth they inspire in you. Wow, it's so great to see you and your family and friends having such a good time celebrating your birthday! As a 22 year old I can't imagine the kind of security and self-confidence you have and I'm honestly worried about whether I'll get there... I feel like at my age there's just so much pressure to find a job, find a life partner, become an independent adult... and I'm honestly not sure I'm capable of even doing anything of worth.

Your pep talk about getting older is so comforting/true. 25-27 were very difficult years for me too, half because of the stress of aging and half because of feeling behind in life. Things have gotten better on the last few months, and I think a major reason for that is because I have accepted a lot of things and am now content. I turn 28 on New Years Eve and this is the first birthday I've where I am truly okay with adding a year. Like you said, the older you get, the less fucks you give. Happy birthday!

Ageism is crazy. I remember when I was 22 my mum said I was too old to go to university, I did it anyway. People have different ideas about what is “old” ... age is just a number, never let it stop you from doing what you want to do in life.

01 .04 Exactly, hearing that response from her was really disheartening at first, she made me feel like I was being ridiculous, then I realised how ridiculous SHE was. Sure I didn’t go to university right out of high school, but I was by no means old and I wasn’t going to let her stop me and I’m glad I didn’t. I’ve since had amazing opportunities through my university - it was destined to be :D But isn’t it crazy how ageist some people can be?

I felt like this throughout my entire 20ties. It's ok, many of us feel/felt like this. Especially now, when we have so many others to compare with (without knowing their whole story), it is so easy to fall into the impression that everyone is doing better and has things figured out. The day will come when you will feel fine and happy with who you are and where you are.

There was so many thing I hated about my body and face, my life when I was in my 20's and now, I'm sooooo glad I didn't do anything drastic to change me back then. I used to have this complicated relationship with Taylor's content and personality back when she was 24-25ish...I liked her sometimes but also felt off about some things she did, thinking's she was childish or superficial...(silly thoughts). But now I see such a mature, sweet young lady that has grown and become an admirable adult, as I also grew up and changed my perspective and opinions. I feel what Taylor says about blocking her age in the comments because she felt the pressure of staying younger because she wanted to be at a certain point in her life that maybe she wasn't yet...

I just turn 30 too! And I totally understand understand what you mean. I've never been more confident and comfortable with myself. Look on my back at my twenties I was busy trying to get affirmation from others, trying to be popular, trying to be wanted. But now I feel so free and chill and I want to focus on myself, self development.
I haven't even finished the video yet, but I had to write this.
I didn't feel pretty for about 5 years of my life. I'd hide things I didn't like about myself and when people tried to get to know me I tried so hard to hide my 'flaws'.
I'm just 21 but I can still relate a lot to what you are saying about age and confidence. I've started to accept that I am me, flaws and all. I have this huuuuge fear of dying, especially after I turned 20, but it's getting better. I might be a lot younger than you but what you said really struck a cord with me.

Thank you for talking about this ;-; I'm at my 20s and already in a crisis, it's difficult for me to talk about my age because I see many people my age or younger being more "successful" (studying what they like, getting jobs that makes them happy, doing big projects). I feel so useless, like I should be like this or that. And since I like cute styles like fairy kei or decora I feel like my physical appearance is very important!, but I don't want any of this to bother me and I'm trying to work it out.

You will! Try not to measure your success based on others.. I always looked to girls my age who were married with kids and stable careers (a model and youtuber is quite unstable, you never know what you’ll make each month) or girls a lot younger than me who were killing it in my field and felt a bit lost. With time you’ll figure it all out and all the paths you’re taking now will lead you there so just keep going and doing what makes you happy!

Im almost 29 and i feel the same way. I tell myself im just a late bloomer and that everything i did that got me at this point in my life was something i wanted to do. Doesnt always work.
Im not afraid of getting older. Or looking older. But i do feel im not where im supposed to be at my age sometimes.
My main concern is children. I didn't want kids till I was in my late 20's and it smacked me in the face pretty hard. Now that I am 30, I know I still want children. I do have a fiance and such and we're not trying just yet, but it's always so hard when you have co-workers all getting pregnant and sharing stories of pregnancy woes. I too, want to experience it and to become a mother (even if it's gonna be rough). >_
I can hundred percent support what Taylor spoke of how when you get near/at thirty you are most comfortable with yourself and things just fall into place. Where you are more at peace with the world etc. I wish I could give the feeling I have being older to all the people that I see struggling with who they are. My twenties were the hardest for me, all these things like never having a dad suddenly bothered me when they didn't. The world came crashing into me and it was a long road. When I was about twenty eight suddenly things just began to feel ok and I began to find peace.

There is your world and there is a million more out there. You said it right: find your balance, find the people you feel comfortable with, find the things in life that really make you happy. It will come with time and knowledge. Learning to ignore pressure from society, trends, news and other influences. I am 31 now and still try to figure out life. But I am less confused and I have the right people to open up to and to comfort me.

I just turned 19 and I always felt that I’m lagging behind the people in my generation since it seems that they’re achieving much more than I am. I felt a lot of insecurities. I still am facing insecurities now but growing up watching your videos always cheered me into being content with who I am.
I know that I just need to be consistent in my mindset that it’s okay. I am okay the way I am and will be. I dream to become comfortable with my own skin as I grow.

That getting ready talk... Couldn't have said it better. We all were afraid of getting older due to the stereo type of being young at twenty and how it's your best years. It's all BS!. It is horrible and I wouldn't want to relive them. Turning 30 was amazing. It really does change you to the core and all of a sudden you are calmer and poised and confident. But back then not knowing anything, I remember turning 25 and it's a count down to 30 I was so upset and was depressed for two months. Now I'm in my 40s and, never thought I'd say that but.... I am loving it!

Happy birthday Taylor, and this was such a sweet glimpse at how connected you are with your family. Tom melts my heart as to how sweet he is, but he's a lucky man to have such a smart, sweet, gorgeous wife! I mean that, and you've really shared how you've grown into a beautiful woman and I think any of your followers would agree that you've really come into yourself and it's a lovely thing to see and such a big thing to share! I am in my early thirties and it only gets betters and better from here. I look back at who I was at 20 compared to who I was at 30 and it's a vast difference, but it seems to really smooth out and feel so much more comfortable being myself as the years keep coming.
Your growth since I started watching you is enormous. I knew you had it in you. Stay happy all your life!

Lol I used to get so upset about turning older in my early 20s. I used to wish I was still 19, then 21, then 23. At 25, i finally figured out something. Some day future you will look back at present you and you will ALWAYS think "I was so young back then... I had so much time. I could have done this or that". And so I started thinking... To future 35 year old me... I am so young with the whole world ahead of me. As long as you're still kicking, it's never too late to do anything. The best time to start will always feel like it should have been in the past so if you start now, future you will thank you. The important thing is to never ever limit yourself or let other people limit you because that will usually be your biggest cause of regret. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

I felt that!! It’s a really tough age.. for me, it was way tougher than my teen years. Don’t worry you will get more comfortable and confident! people always told me that ‘it gets better with age’ and I didn’t believe them, I was terrified.. and at the same time I had my industry pressuring me to stay young to earn more money.. but just keep going and you’ll start to find yourself❤️

i turned 21 last month and ive been going through the roughest patch ever since i turned 19 ive had a few very very low lows and one or 2 periods of the highest highs in my life so far so its comforting hearing that by the time im 30 ill know who i am. you and Jenna Marbles have actually really shown me that recently. i noticed that both of you once you indiviudally reached about 28 you both just gave up trying to impress others and you just showed us who you truly are
"25 to 28 were my most difficult years" ...MINE TOO. I went through so much crap in my late 20's and I had no idea what I wanted to do with myself. My 30's so far have been awesome, so you are not wrong when you say things get better in your 30's. I am far more sure of myself these days and I am so much happier than I have ever been.

I was going through the same stuff,I used to study hard in my teen years and my fun activities were mostly inside the house,when I was 18 y o I lived without my parents and started feeling really old and I always regret not having fun in my teens because 20s are supposed to be when you have to be an adult and take responsibility,I'm 24 now and until last year it keeps haunting me that I have to be an adult and not have fun but last month something happened and it told me that age is just a number and you can have fun and do what you want and still be an adult.thank you for confirming my thoughts 😍❤ you are amazing.

So, this coming February is my 29th birthday. I've been feeling a ton of fear about turning 30 lately for some of the exact reasons you stated - Not feeling like I'm where I should be, feeling like I'm running out of time, putting too much importance in staying 'youthful'.
This vlog really helped calm my insecurities. I've been trying to reflect on my 20s and remember the lessons I've learned and see if I'm better off now than I was when I was in my early 20s. While I haven't reached all of my goals - I have a very solid group of friends that I trust and feel comfortable with, I know what my goals are -definitively, I know what I need out of relationships, I take better care of my health - physical and mental, and I know my limits and when to walk away from situations without being taken advantage of.
I have every faith that my 30s will be fulfilling. I'm grateful to my 20 year-old self for the trials she had to go through to get here, but I think I'll be able to enjoy life a bit more in my 30s. Thank you again for being so candid with us.
Speaking of age... I’m 45. I took my profile pic in January ‘19. True happiness makes you look younger, which is irrelevant really (how old or young you look). The truly important part is that it really does get even better... settling into your skin, your spirit, your values and integrity, being true to who you really are. It definitely does just get better and better. There are, of course, rough times because you’re even more ready to look inward and address more deeply the things you find that you want to work on internally. Sometimes it’s scary, but it’s ultimately beautiful because you’re shedding parts of yourself that no longer serve you. You can see even more and passionately love your true, amazing, unstoppable, fierce, glorious self.
The older I get the more beautiful I feel. For real! I love me and I’m so happy to see you loving who you truly are!
Congratulations on entering your thirties! Enjoy every moment. Appreciate the rough times for the growth they inspire in you.
It really DOES just get better and better. Celebrate every day. You are exactly who and where you’re meant to be every moment of every day!

Welcome to 30s! I’ve been here a little while and it’s great! You really do feel more comfortable with yourself and don’t feel like you’re always struggling to prove something. Or maybe that’s just me but I hear others feel this way as well. Happy birthday, beautiful Tay!!!!!

As a 22 year old I can't imagine the kind of security and self-confidence you have and I'm honestly worried about whether I'll get there... I feel like at my age there's just so much pressure to find a job, find a life partner, become an independent adult... and I'm honestly not sure I'm capable of even doing anything of worth.
I've watched you for over 2 years now and I'm still so blown away by your growth as well as I've recently realized my own growth. It's so nice to see how you go through life and you give me so much hope on my bad days. thank you taylor

Your pep talk about getting older is so comforting/true. 25-27 were very difficult years for me too, half because of the stress of aging and half because of feeling behind in life. Things have gotten better on the last few months, and I think a major reason for that is because I have accepted a lot of things and am now content. I turn 28 on New Years Eve and this is the first birthday I've where I am truly okay with adding a year. Like you said, the older you get, the less fucks you give. Happy birthday!
