About the boots, when will Ponant provide it to the passengers? I am planning to bring a pair of waterproof hiking shoes that I can use to walk around the ship. Also, does the boots need to be underneath the waterproof pants or it can be worn over the pants like wellies? I have some ski pants but the bottoms are quite straight (not wide).

Really you should have waterproof pants worn over the boots. Ski pants are probably too hot when you are walking about. It's not that cold.
I noticed the life preserver with your outfit. Does it have a solid backing? I am planning to wear a chest rig bag (Osprey Archeon Chest Rig bag) to carry my smartphone, point and shoot cam or insta360. Just curious if the chest rig bag will interfere with the life preserver.
It only needs to be fastened when you’re on the zodiac boat, so I think it should be fine
