Let the tears flow. These episodes never let anyone leave without a dry eye. While we don't know for sure, the assumed "unfinished business" of Olvia's husband was deciphering the poneglyphs, which she took over on his behalf.
shooting the flag was one of the most amazing and heartwarming gestures in all of Anime, Robin didn't want them to help her because the whole world is her enemy so it will affect them, so shooting the flag was Luffy basically saying: " We are willing and ready to make the entire world our enemy for you, whether you like it or not". and this non-verbal message was still heard loud and clear by both Robin and Spandam.
@@MrGalRoz Flag scene is my #1 scene in OP. Overall, that and "I wanna live" are basically part of the same sequence and could be considered the same scene, but if we're gonna consider then apart, then I'll say "shoot down that flag" makes me even more emotional than "I wanna live". While the second is direct and it's good because of this, of how blunt it is, after all, that's Luffy demanding Robin to say exactly what she really wants (has to be literal), the flag line is way more symbolic. And knowing that Luffy is a blockhead, a very literal and direct guy, knowing he's not into symbolism, institutions etc., him having the discernment here is what moves me. It's somethings he wouldn't pay much attention, if wasn't for Robin. But somehow, he gets that if she sees them attack the symbol of her enemy, she will understand the sacrifices they're willing to make for her.
Remember earlier in the arc Luffy selects Rob Lucci to fight. And Nami (I think) said it is like Luffy knows instinctively who the strongest foe is and that is who he has to fight.
Robins “I WANT TO LIVE!!” Is such an impactful moment…it’s the first time she’s saying what she really wants out loud. The government has been hunting her for years…and she just wants to be free. To live.
For the longest time I thought the shot of Zoro unsheathing and re-sheathing his blade at the very end is him just checking over his equipment one last time, but ever since I saw a Reddit post about it possibly being a reference to the practice of 金打 (kinchou) dating back to Muromachi era samurai, I've also subscribed to the theory. The idea behind Kinchou is that two samurai would clank the hilts of their swords together and the metallic sound would signify the formation of a vow or promise that must be upheld (women would do this by hitting their hand mirrors together). Since there aren't any other sword wielders nearby, it is thought that Zoro improvises and clanks the hilt against his scabbard, vowing to uphold the vow to bring Robin back to sea. Also notable is that this small scene is an anime original and is not shown in the manga.
Been watching from the shadows for a while, been waiting for this one. Favourite moment from One Piece is this iconic "I want to live". Arc and a half of build up to one of the most satisfying declarations (of war and life).
Zoro never trusted Robin ever since she got on board at the end of Alabast. Ep. 278 is when he changed his stance on her. Word of advice: keep tissues at hand, you never know when you'll need them!
I disagree on this, he trusted her bc he trusts his captain. He was more cautios than the others but in skypea he trusted her as much as everyone and treated her with lot of respect otherwise he wouldnt have catch her falling. Je might have been less surprised in water seven but he was angry enough at her disappearingnthat he must have liked her or trusted her enough to be angry about it in the first place.
@@Nastyn1nja808 I mean I would believe it. As far as I know we don't know if Rodger had any love interests but he was able to write in the Poneglyph language in Skypiea and wanted to carry that text to the ends of the world. Olivia would definitely be able and willing to do that for him.
This is my favorite one piece moment reading the manga I heard Roblin shouting I WANT TO LIVE and this before watching the anime god I love Oda sensei writing but who hurt this man. Ps i still own that manga volume on my bookshelf

"I want to live" in all its context is the best moment of the show. Her voice actress absolutely nailed it. Robin sounds like a whiny little kid here, but its an emotion that she's never gotten to experience. She was pretty mature even has a child and always kept her chin up. Here she totally breaks down.
Robin has went through a lot hiding from the government for the past 20 years tough timing trusting someone. I feel really bad for Robin after what’s happened to her in all those years
Robin’s origin is similar to Nami’s in that they both had their mother killed in front of them. Still Nami did not lose everyone that was dear to her. Even before this Robin was my favorite character. This cemented it.

That's One Piece for you, all in the span of 3 episodes: - Robin's fear for being a burden and left behind, just as Usopp. Monster Trio and Weakling Trio, un-phased by throwing the glove in the WG's face. Darkness lifted from Robin literally and figuratively. - As much as I enjoy Luffy and the Strawhats being themselves, I still prefer order over chaos: as shown, the Gorōsei is a group of level-headed, non-bickering men leading a large organization and maintaining peace. I can only imagine, but if the Blank Century would undermine the authority of the WG, that would be WWA, World Wide Anarchy. - Not siding with Vice-Admiral Sakazuki but let's say a scholar managed to escape ending up with the wrong company; scholars knowing the dangers of a poneglyph may not spill their secrets, but against mind-bending torture, threatening the loved ones, using Devil Fruit or other abilities (Jango), one cannot be certain. "Sometimes, you need to cut off an arm to save a body"
