      In the video you say that you were a Hawke Scope kinda guy, most rifle reviews i've seen lately feature Vector Continentals, have you been fully converted? I've got a Hawke Airmax at the mo, just ordered a new Brocock and a Veyron 6-24x44 IR to go with it, so just wondered which side of the line you now sit on!

    I've got the Vector Taurus 3-18x50mm. It's the best scope I've ever owned in 45 years of shooting!
    I've had various Hawke scopes, MTC scopes and even the Bushnell Legend which I thought was the best scope optics wise before I purchased this Vector scope.
    Hats off to Vector for such quality at such a reasonable price and thanks to Andy for bringing them to my attention!

      I agree , I used Bushnell elites mostly , having tried one of the vectors I have to say I was very impressed with the quality of the glass , and overall build quality.

    I've recently bought myself the Veyron 6-24x44 to fit on my Walther Reign bullpup. Comparing side by side with a Hawke Vantage SF 6-24x44 on one of my other rifles, both at full magnification, I would have to say that the Hawke is just that bit sharper image. Still more than happy with the Veyron at it's price point and with all the additional features.

    Love my Veyron scopes 4-16 x 44 FFP fitted to Springers HW97 and AA Pro Sport. The shorter length means that the loading port on both these rifles is not obstructed. Crystal clear and silky smooth to operate. Only 2 very minor moans 1) included mounts are Picatinny, would be nice to have the option of dovetail. 2) I need the diopter screwed a long way out for my eyes to focus the reticle which prevents the flip up cap fitting properly on the ocular end, an extra few milimeters of plastic in the mould would have fixed that problem.

    • @erniestory7223

    Good stuff, thanks Andy, a fan from Canada here. I have one of these, and yes, they do have great features. My only issue is the fact that, when the rear lens is adjusted out to clear up the reticle, as is needed for tired eyes like mine,,,then the lens cover / cap no longer stays on the scope.

  • @skyhookspirits
    @skyhookspirits 3 роки тому +8

    Yes, the Vector scopes are nice, but there really are some other pretty nice scopes which cost less and still have nice features. Examples like UTG and Monstrum are awfully nice for the money. Things one needs to consider is the type of gun and type of shooting. A Springer may need a rugged scope, but a CO2 surely doesn't. There is also no real advantage in a buying a costly scope that is better than the gun it is on. I think it would be useful to review some of these other scopes so your audience can determine the best match for these considerations.

    I have the 3-12x44 FFP good scope nice and compact for the bullpup and light enough to put on the BSA ultra I hoping to get for my dad soon as he is in need of a lighter set up to keep shooting comfortably. The only issue is with my eyes around 6x and lower the mil dashes get a bit thin for my eyes to pick up depending on light conditions. I have a couple of other Vector Optics scopes and really like the 10x44 marksman, although it does not get as much use now after picking up a second Optisan EVX 10x44 second had recently but it is still on a gun just not one of my gotos.

    • @dawiddadun3044
      @dawiddadun3044 3 роки тому

      I bought the 4-16x44 for my lad a few months back to go on his ultra. Traded it in last week for the reason you mention....the reticle is too fine. Another problem was eye relief. Because its so short there's very little room for the mounts on the scope & we couldn't sit the scope far enough back on the scoperail. A reach-back mount would sort that problem but I don't know of any manufacturer that makes one for the 13mms bsa rails. But I will say that if you only shoot in good lighting conditions & it fits your rails then it is a really good quality scope.

    Enjoyable and informative as always. These are now my favorite scopes, vector. I am a target shooter, mainly Benchrest. The Sentinel X is sick good and was designed specifically for 25 meter competition, though I use it out to 100 yards. My new favorite is the Minotaur. It too is SFP but again, I’m shooting 100 yard targets. They are so exceptional that my good friend sold his Hawke for this one. That said it all.

    Hello Andy!
    Thanks for your videos which, in addition to being very informative, have that very British humor that I really appreciate.
    I'm fortunate enough to live in areas where there are no power or caliber limits and I'm wondering if these Vector Optics scopes are suitable for gas ram piston magnum rifles (45 joules), such as the Hatsan Mod 123QE .30 and Gamo G-Magnum 1250 .22, or if it's better to mount Hawke Airmax scopes on these types of rifles.
    So the question is, according to the British limitation of 12 ft/lb: do you primarily recommend these scopes because they would be in adequation for British no-FAC rifles?
    If not, it would indeed be more financially attractive to go with Vectors Optics, which already offers FFP scopes at half the price of the Hawke Airmax 30 WA FFP.
    But only if they can handle that powerful reverse recoil...
    You can say: "Why not a PCP air rifle?"
    Because I spend most of my time in the wilderness, away from any "civilization" and I need this type of stand-alone rifle, which excludes PCPs.

      @@guitarkidification They don't know what they are talking about (or what 25-40 J springer does to them). Maybe if you are sub 17J.

    I have a 3-12 x 44. Great scope but very poor reticule illumination, anyone else had the same issue.

    Great review as always, can anyone confirm that they work with night vision ie a pard or similar? Some lense coatings block ir light transmission.

    Hawke scopes are nice but way over priced. Nice to have other scope companies step up and offer a nice scope that doesn't cost an arm and a leg for it.

    Can you confirm the 4-16x44 focuses down to 10yds? Just looked on the website and it states "20 to infinite". I need something that focuses quite close for ratting...

      Hello! I own the 4-16 × 44 FFP and it focuses sharp down to ca. 8-9 meter. I bought them after Andy's first review 😊 Kind regards from Germany 🍻

    I have said it before, but these scopes are exactly the same as the Discovery VT3 Compact series scopes, except for the turret and zoom rings, which are purely cosmetic differences. There is nothing bad in that, as my VT3 3x12x44 is excellent.

      just watched this vid and thought exactly the same thing, i have a VT-3 4-16X44 ON MY HATSAN FLASHPUP and a VT-T 4.5-18X44 on my DREAMLINE TACT both are extremely clear to look through top to bottom, side to side and cost about the same, sun shades and flip up covers, cant go wrong with discovery.

    I am thinking about getting the 6-24x44 for my rimfire. I already have the 4-16x44 for my FX, but is the bigger one same quality as the smaller one ? How would it compare with Element Optics Helix for example ?

    Andy, would this scope, or the Hugo models work for break barrel air-guns, or are they not suitable for break barrels. I consider to buy the Gamo Replay Magnum 10X, and based on u recommendation, I would buy the Hugo 6-24X50.

    Andy I’m converting a Diana Bandit to a carbine rifle. I’m not sure what scope to put on it. I currently have a Burris 3X pistol scope on it and I’m not sure yet if I will leave the 9-10” barrel on it because of its superb accuracy at 30 yards and just want to put a stock on it but I did buy the stock and grip and longer barrel the is an option for the Chaser CO2 version. I have been thinking a fixed 4X32 would be more than enough but would still be honored greatly to hear you opinion sir. 4X32 or 3X9-32 mm? Thinking about a UTG Bug Buster 3-12X32 adjustable side parallax for 100$ USD considering this is a 179$ USD unregulated PCP Pistol which would extend my range to 50 yards maybe….685 FPS with a JSB Hades 15.89 grain pellet……It would mean a lot to have your opinion for this carbine conversion. I believe it will make a great truck gun. Yes…it is a FAC version being that I reside in Pennsylvania USA. Thank you for your time and another great video. Your one of my favorite airgun channels that I subscribe to. Thank you sir for what you provide for us. Always gets a thumbs up from me even before I watch because I know quality when I see your videos and reviews!

    Hello brother Andy ! I’m a huge admirer of your amazingly educational vlogs. You are extremely precise with the content and I sincerely thank you for helping all the viewers with such awesome content. I’m new to airguns and would love to get a Walther Rolex rm8 . I live in India and we don’t have many air gun options to choose from around here. So I guess I like the Walther for now as I can buy it from a local website . However, I can’t figure out any scope for it. Please help me and suggest me what I could possibly do about. Do I not deserve to shoot targets like you do and have fun. ☹️. Pardon me if I said anything inappropriate.
    Warm regards
    Manas
