@@SuperWindows78 I think they are local idents. The Moire effect on the original ident was designed around the type of television people had ( 405 lines or 625 lines ). The “ Aerial “ Ident is the most iconic.
As I grew up in Dublin we had one Irish channel until, we eventually got UK channels in the early 70's by cable. The only ITV channel we received was UTV from Ulster. However, depending on the atmospheric conditions during the summer, we occasionally received HTV. It came and went but I loved the logo and the music associated with the ident and was always disappointed when summer was over and we no longer received HTV, reverting to UTV, which, in fairness was a great channel. Thank you for putting this selection of HTV idents together!
It was very impressive of you to find the TWW logo without the 3 boxes. Unfortunately it is actually the first TWW logo. I do admire your perseverance as another man somewhat dedicated to idents, Adam Martyn, could not find that 1st TWW logo yet you did. Well done, sir, and good luck.
Thank you for all your upline ads it kust takes ao much timd ro do each one. I for one am so greatful for you doing the videos. When we got lg tv with freesat in it about 2019 in Ireland we got itv1 with London news area. I loved the htv wales logo music in late 80's, early 90's.
My favourite ident from Harlech TV would be the 1987 ident, as the graphics and animation are pretty good for the time, similar to the WTTW Chicago ident of the same year. *But my least favourite ident would probably be the 1969 ident, as not only the animation is cheesy, but also, the pattern could give people **_headaches_** when they see it!*
@@ManF3 I agree with you on the 1987 ident! Brilliant CGI! However, I think the 1968 ident has impressive animation for its time, but yes, it could give some people headaches.
There's something really pleasing about the 6th logo music. I like the adaptation for the 30th birthday, which makes me wonder if it was part of a library package.
Although I grew up in Bury St. Edmunds (so Anglia region), I always loved the Southern (equated in my mind to “How”), HTV (Robin of Sherwood) and ATV (... Crossroads) idents...
I grew up in the Thames region, so if I ever saw HTV, the Anglia Knight, or the TSW ‘green egg’ logo, it meant I was on holiday 😂. It’s amazing how something as simple as a tv ident, can envoke such memories.
Agreed, Matt and stevealex! It is amazing how a television ident can bring back fond memories of being a kid with your eyeballs glued to the box. As a teenager from New Zealand, the ITV franchise has some of the best idents out there, in my opinion.

At Christmas the ITV companies would produce funny tapes consisting of outtakes and parodies of their programmes - for internal viewing only. This would have been from HTV's 1987 offering. The 'another language' is Welsh, and translates as "That's all from the 105' / 60/2272 next". Unfortunately I don't understand the significance of the numbers.
@@brayster1979TSW served Devon and Dorset. HTV served Cornwall, North Devon, and Somerset parts of England . You could probably pick both up if you had another aerial pointing to one of the transmitters for HTV as well as the one picking up TSW transmission.
In 1989 a different look to the ITV idents were created, called the “ Generic “ ident. Some regions accepted it, including Harlech ( HTV ) whilst others said sod off to it ( TVS, TSW, Anglia and Granada, Ulster ) Scottish ( now STV and the only region that’s not owned by the merged Granada/ Carlton company, ITV plc) used it for only 3 months. The only region to use it the longest was Grampian, which used it until 1998 then it was bought out by Scottish.
The Harlech TV ( HTV ) was a dual regional franchise covering Wales and the West of England mainly Bristol, Cornwall, Somerset and North Devon. Wales is a Province of the United Kingdom and part of the British Mainland.

The extended Harlech theme at 2:23 is gorgeous, never heard it until now

13:44 One great Intro!
Is it me, or does the song at 0:28 sound like The Ash Grove? I sang this song in my local choir and I seem to recognise it straightaway
For me, it doesn't really sound like it. It's a relaxing song.
It is indeed The Ash Grove (or Llwyn Onn in Welsh).
It is The Ash Grove....well spotted.......
Huh. So it is. Nice! :-D
