    Great video as always. I agree those manic sessions on the whiting can be hard work on those shingle slopes. You have an extremely well organised set up.... Not many times you see a designated rubbish bin in use 👏👏👏

      I swear those shingle slopes get steeper every time I fish there or is it I’m just getting older? As for having a rubbish bin, it just saves putting it in my tackle box. Maybe I need a table next.
      Tight lines David.

      I’m not always as organised as it appears, I still manage to lose things like baiting needles and bait elastic. Its weird, you put things down and they just vanish. the beach just swallows them!
      Thanks for watching and the comment. Tight lines.

    Cley, my favourite of the North Norfolk beaches. A few weeks ago I found that the weed became very bad towards the top end of the flood, aggravated by that pounding wave action you get on the shingle on an incoming tide as it comes up a step on the shingle bank.

    • @theangliaangler
      @theangliaangler  8 місяців тому

      Fortunately the weed never got too bad and cleared completely at high tide. I have fished there before and the weed has been so bad it was complete waste ot time trying to fish. Hate the weed, its so tedious to keep picking it off.
      Thanks for watching and commenting George.

    Im enjoying the videos! I recently had thuoght of taking up Sea beach fishing myself. I havent done it before and first youtube search brought me to you and you fish on the coastline that i would be going to too, so im finding you very inspiring. I'm poping up that way soon as im based more inland Essex and im after a tackle shop that way, do you have any personal recommendations of shops near Lowestoft?

    • @theangliaangler
      @theangliaangler  8 місяців тому +1

      I can’t help you with tackle shops in Lowestoft I’m afraid as I buy all my tackle in Norwich or online. As for fresh bait, if I was going Lowestoft way I would order my bait, either lug or rag worm, from Gorleston Tackle in Gorleston and collect it on my way down from Norwich. The next nearest shop I use for bait is Southwold Angling Centre in Southwold surprisingly . Don’t forget to order your bait in advance to ensure getting it on the day required. Sorry I can’t be of more help. Wish you every success with your fishing.

      Hi Carl. I’m well, thanks for asking. It was a bit more relaxing than the recent Whiting madness and If I'm not organised, I end up losing stuff, especially baiting needles and elastic. Wishing you all the best from NORWICH.

    I am a complete shambles to you, I take the cheapest of gear and occasionally an old umbrella for protection, my preferred bait is fresh Herring, yet I seem to be pretty successful in catching..

      Its just a case of getting the right bait on sharp hooks in the right place at the right time, the rest doesn't matter. But I do like to be comfortable , warm and can’t resist the gadgets whether bought or home made.
      Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Tight lines Neville9408.

    Hi I am thinking of buying a penn Tidal rod like yours. Do they really cast up to 300gr ? Have you test it ? Will appreciate your input
    Thanks😊

    • @theangliaangler
      @theangliaangler  8 місяців тому

      I bought this rod just after having had a rod break on me, so wanted something with additional leeway weight wise. I normally cast a weight of 180 to 200 grams, including bait, so haven’t tested it to its limits. It says on the rod the optimal casting weight is 180 grams. I guess it means you’ve got some leeway to fish heavier if the conditions demand it. In case you’re interested I’ve just weighed the rod on some kitchen scales and it comes out at 653 grams. Hope this helps.
