I dont know why people don't get that the actors were purposely being cringy. The whole anime is full of exaggerated faces. The actors were just acting the same and being funny.

for me yumeko and sumeragi in live action did great. you might hate me for this but I have a love-hate towards suzui live action, he’s annoying because of his reactions but he’s actually more fun than the one in anime. still the anime is so much better and great, but i admit i did enjoy the live action.
Tbh everyone who came just for Yumeko and Saotome and is super ducking obsessed with only and just the women and lesbians will find him annoying no matter what
I can't agree more! I feel like both the anime and live action is good in their own ways. Personally Suzui in the live action is more entertaining than in the anime.

Well it's like they have different genres altogether, of course if you compare the two drama and brain games is gonna feel more epic (anime) but man the live action is amazing XD it works amazing as comedy

I honestly love the live action. It knows that it is ridiculous and uses that to its avantage. It's very entertaining and think the actors do a great job. The props and costumes are very good too! It's a fun little spin on the anime, and serves as something to watch while waiting for season 3
honestly i like the real life one better, it made me laugh and they tried their best to recreate their face expressions and lines. I give it a 97%

In the end we all know why we came here, to tell Netflix the anime is better than the live action
I DISAGREE. Remember that this is your opinion, I respect that. But know that there will always be many people who think that the Live Action is on par or even better than the anime.
In time of this LA release, many Japanese people unexpectedly give positive feedback watching the drama and movie, you can see their impressions on Twitter and LINE media.
In this adaptation of the Kakegurui manga series, I for one are more impressed on the LA because it is more accurate and faithful to the manga. Many said it is cringe, but that is the essence of Kakegurui, the madness of gambling. I see the anime to be more fun for funservice, but through the story and acting, I rated the LA much higher. I also love the acting of Minami Hamabe.
Please don't be close-minded and generalize all LA as bad, as much more are really good.
Example is "I Want to Eat Your Pancreas" and "Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare", who gets really many praise or like its anime. The "Chihayafuru" LA is even more popular and a hit in Japan. Even better is the rapidly growing popularity of "Alice in Borderland".
All entertainment media have its upsides and downsides. All of us are free to give opinions. So please respect each other. Thank you ❤️

Both dying Aoi's hair and having a wig will look weird enough. It's much better to stay in that color. coz if she use wig or they dye her hair some people who dislikes the Live action will probably feel cringe with it more. lol lol I love live action sm and I'm okay with Mary's hair in live action.

It interpreted the oddity, the overdramatic and the dark aesthetics of the anime really well
Sumeragi’s actress was honestly phenomenal on capturing the character.

This has quickly become one of my favourites series. The acting in the live action is incredibly entertaining. I adore every single character and the actors so so incredibly talented.
the thing about this is that some facial expressions in the anime are just physically impossible to act, so thats why the live action one doesnt hype me up as much as the anime
Yea, the anime is better but that’s not the actors’ fault, at least the live action is still entertaining
So they decide to go the comedy route instead but that works too
I feel like I'm the only one who actually enjoyed the live action... mostly the season 2. They did way better than most live actions.

The parts with Yumemi are a big reason I prefer the live action version. It's fleshed out by more games and they actually show the songs they sing. Her speech when she had the audience paused was really fun, as well as funny with the yes parts. But, more importantly, I love how she reacts to her fans still liking her. Like she really appreciates them, now. In the anime it seems more like she's angry that she has to continue cause she grinds her teeth, before going back into kawaii mode. The actress is really great, too, as are all of the actors, really.
Yumemi's actress, Sayuri Matsumura, was also an idol until she graduated from the group
Based on these clips, I think the actors for Sumeragi, Manyuda, Kirari, and Yumeko did really well on capturing the characters and these scenes.
I’m not the biggest fan of the live action but yumeko’s actor fits her perfectly

Portraying anime characters especially kakegurui characters is very hard but yumeko did a brilliant job. Her expressions when she’s happy and angry is just like the anime
Yumeko's actor played it perfectly!! What bothers me most about most anime live adaptations is that the acting seems very fake. I know it's adapted from anime, where it's easier to convey some emotions with facial expressions and voice without being awkward, but the point of live-adaptations is convey that sort of thing in real life without being awkward. Acting is supposed to fool you into thinking something is real, not think it's fake.
Another actor who I think did their role well is the Sumeragi actor! The girl with short curly hair and a headband!! The dramatics were done very well on that one!!
I'm really impressed about the acting in the live action!

The guy goes from handsome in anime to nerdy dude, Mary goes from blonde to light brown, the other two (forgot the names) look about the same, so not surprised, somehow Jabami is way scarier in live action, somehow the actress did a amazing job doing that; both impressed and terrified.

yes! i absolutely adore the main actress- ive recently watched her 2020 series ' cursed in love ' which she starred with ryusei yokohama ! i would recommend it to you but im not sure if it is the type of series you would watch-

i dont know about anyone else but i found the manga plays up the technicalities of the games played, the anime plays up the erotic/hedonistic aspects of gambling and the live action version plays up the comedy.
i love all three and want more of it

Look at the real life version as a theatrical performance. They exagerate every single scene, just as in the anime. They don't want to make a life action series, they are bringing the anime to life (weird faces and all). It was not supposed to be natural, at least in my opinion
