Anita, if people can't find a way to eat them by now, they probably never will. You have done yomens work on sardines. Thank you for your dedication concerning the little fishies and everything else!
Hello, im from Uruguay, i dont speak english very well. I actually do Sardine Fast for de 4 week and i think sure, i do it for rest of my life !!! I love this !!! Im carnivore, then this fit me.
I found this just in time! Getting ready to do a Sardine Challenge starting Monday morning. I joined Dr. Lisa's, (CarnivoreDoctor) Summer weight loss challenge. Starts off with a BANG! of a 3 day fasting challenge.
If want to be mean to Anita please go someplace else !!!! Love this video I am still trying to find a sardine I "love"....lol. Thank you for all the tips and recipes.
I just jumped into the sardines - I hated them at first, so I ate 3 cans only on the first day. Then 3 the next day, by the 3rd day I liked them, they grew on me
I love this! I never ate a sardine before I saw your last vid on them. Bought several different brands and I like the ones I've tried. Tastes sort of like tuna to me. My next experiment will be with your bacon wrapped ones you fried today. Looks yummy! Thank you! 🙂
You are a very strong 💪 brave woman! I don't want to, I don't want the organ meat either...I'm starting BBBE Saturday morning. I've learned so much from you and your vlogs. Thank you for sharing!
"I'm not the sardine police" 🤣 Good one. Too funny. Love your content. Thanks for the ideas. I did do a sardine fast and really enjoyed it. And yes, the bisque soup is delicious
I like watching you. I admire anyone who can eat sardines. My Dad loved them and would eat them on a soda cracker. I don't know why I have such an adversion to them. I may consider the pate......someday. 😂 Also I use Aldi's Dijon mustard and there are no sugars or carbs in it.
I'm 70, and I had sardines for the first time just two weeks ago. I quickly found that I have to go with the boneless, skinless ones because of my aversion to eating skin, and the tails are a total ick factor for me (won't eat chicken skin, either, not ever, not even KFC (and I'm keto, so never eat KFC now)). I had a can of mackerel today for the first time, and I was amazed at how delicious they are! If sardines are that good, then I'll be an aficionado! I've only the first two cans of 'dines buried in a huge green salad, so didn't see them, nor was I aware of their taste. I do know the salad was more filling with them in it, and there wasn't any kind of bad taste, so I'll be trying them with a little apple cider vinegar as Anita does. I'm also going to get "brave" and try herring. I've watched and heard information stating that they're excellent for the health, are delicious, and come in small cans as sardines and mackerel does, so I'll try just one can initially.
I just checked my dijon mustard and as I thought and you stated there is no sugar in dijon mustard. I am planning on a Costco trip, maybe I will break down and try some. I love smelt but they were usually fried or sautéed and topped on this crusty bread drizzled in olive oil!❤
I made Dr. Weideman’s soup recipe twice last week. I was quite surprised at how tasty and rich it is…definitely a keeper…thanks for sharing these great recipes today😊
Thank you Anita! You are so kind and I appreciate all you do. I like sardines out of the can but I'm looking forward to trying these recipes. Can't wait for part 2!

DH and I are on our second round of the sardine challenge (the first round was a couple of months back), so your video is very timely. Variety is good. I've not seen faces inside a can of sardines yet either. I did see little faces in a can of sprats once, though, but that was a while ago. My relationship to sardines changed when someone advised me to stop buying the cheapest ones and buy those packed in olive oil! Interestingly, these are not sold in major grocery stores but small delicatessens. And they usually come from Portugal and Spain. Anita, I have also lived in Vancouver and I would suggest walking down Commerical Ave. and checking out the small Italian stores there! This will definitely increase your variety!
I'm able to buy the King Oscar sardines in olive oil here in MO in all the major grocery stores. I can get wild caught ones in those same stores, as well as the water packed ones. I get mackerel in the major grocery stores, too. BUT--there are no delicatessens here, either, so maybe that's why. I'd have to drive to either St. Louis or Springfield, and they're such terribly high crime cities, I'm not about to go there!
Love this and was eating a can of sardines for dinner! I added nutritional yeast, season salt and garlic to brisling sardines in olive oil and enjoyed it thoroughly. I appreciate these recipes because it reminded me I have three opened but Barely Used jars of capers in my refrigerator that I need to use and always forget. So I just ate a tablespoon with my sardines and it's a great compliment with lots of good health properties to I might add. I love your channel! Thank you for all you do
Thanks Anita. I am ready to start another sardine fast but know by the third day I am REALLY, REALLY tired of sardines. These recipes wil help alot. Also, I am curious about the carnivore toasts. Mine got a bit soft. Do you just put them back in the air fryer or oven to crisp up?
Yes, the first time mine got soft as well, so if you save those little silica packets that come with packaged food and put them in the bag with your crackers, they will stay crunchy. But if they do get a little soft, then a couple minutes in the air fryer will crisp them back up!
So many ideas! I too enjoy Mary’s Nest! I also make a salad which is a basic salad using a handful of endive, a little minced onions a can of sardines in oil and a little vinaigrette to taste! Makes a tasty way to get those sardines in!
Yes. She too is a really sweet and kind lady. What you both do that I find really helpful, is that you explain why you do what you do. That saves me from a few mistakes now and then 😇
They look and smell like catfood😅 I fried my first can in a little kerrygold and then put a side of mustard and a side of hot sauce it dip in. I may try cold tomorrow and use some por rinkds to chase and crunch between bites.
I just put bacon wrapped sardines in the oven just like bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers. Less mess and easier. And no toothpicks needed. Lol. Almost forgot. I use super thin bacon, it cooks and crisps up fast.
Thanks for the different recipes. I grew up eating sardines as my mother loved them with saltines. I love them with just hot sauce but I have been making a sardine salad recently. The thing about adding the ACV would add another level to my salad. I saw the sardine bisque in a video, just haven't made it yet.

I just love every one of your videos especially when you are being salty about certain types of comments. Makes me wish I were talented in comic style drawings 😅
haha, I love that comment 'salty'. Reminds me of sailors. Which reminds me of fish! See what all I did that there, brought it right around to sardines! 😂

I'm about 11 #'s away from my goal weight and I was worried I'd stall, but with this tool I don't think it'll be a problem getting all the way down in a decent amount of time. Also, wanted to share with you if you don't already follow him Chris Cooking Nashville - he just posted a video today for carnivore mashed spuds!!! Mary from marys nest is my favorite channel. Shes taught me amazing things over the years. Sourdough bread, fermented foods, prepping pantry...shes a wealth of information ❤
Anita, God bless I just can't eat them the taste almost makes me sick. I know Sardines are an incredible superfood I have tried to eat them and my husband loves them and eats a can a day.
It's a recipe for getting people to add more sardines to their daily rotation. But that said I am not the sardine police and so I am all for people doing what they need to do to get them down!
Grey Poupon DOES HAVE SUGAR in the ingredient list. Your Maille brand does not and these two dijons taste very different. I stopoed buying Grey Poupon because of the sugar.
I tried these today and they came out delicious.😋 I only had thick bacon so I was a little worried, plus I didn't fry them but made them in the air fryer. Awesome 🐟Next dish, the salad. Thank you
Hey Anita, I was reading the can of Egg white powder , It has Lauryl Sulfate. Which is a hormone inhibiter . And can cause boating. Is there some else I can use for substitute?
My can doesn't have any mention of that! Depends on what recipe you are making but I would take a look at using a different cleaner brand of egg white powder, or maybe try meat flour or unflavored protein powder.
Thank you so much for this. I was one who was totally grossed out at sight and smell. With the help of your other recipes.. I lived through them ;) can't wait to try and share these.
Hi there! So proud of your weight loss! Just started watching you. I love your dish you eat your sardines out of. Keep up the good “weight loss” and healthy lifestyle. 👍🥰
I'm neither keto nor carnivore, but that sardine paté looks super! Thanks for sharing, as I've been thinking about the sardine challenge, I'm just having trouble with the idea of eating them plain. I usually use sardines as a salad topper, with crunchy stuff like onion, bell pepper, and cucumber. The capers and mustard sound like they'd make it far better than plain.
Anita, i always had issues with garlic especially raw, until I work for a woman who taught me if you remove the heart from the garlic you will not have digestive issues, if that's what you suffer from, try it Btw, you are looking fabulous! All the things you are trying seem to be working!!
Thank you Anita you are awesome as always keep up the grate job love it ,I just finished my 72 h today feeling grate ,yes I am going to do it twice monthly thank you ❤
I always thought it was "bristling" sardines. Fish with attitude. 😂😂😂I like sardines, but haven't done a challenge. Someday... These recipes are encouraging.
@@JazzyMamaInAK I would say yes, I bought the ones from Costco and am taking them back because the Trader Joe’s ones are so much better. To ship all the way to Alaska would be pretty steep I imagine.

Thank you for all you do! I tried sardines for the first time last night. I eat non starchy veggies cooked in the air fryer and then fried two cans of sardines in melted ghee. They were small so they fell apart a bit but they got crispy. I squeezed quite a bit of lemon juice on them and ate them mixed with the air fried veggies. They were not bad. I like tuna and salmon so I think I can get used to eating them on a regular basis but I doubt that I will ever do an actual challenge with them.
I’ve never eaten sardines, someone recommended a certain brand which I bought. My husband asked me not to open the can in the house 😂 because guys he works with eat them and he said they stink to high heaven. I plan on stepping outside to try them but I can’t see cooking with them 🤷🏻♀️
Okay, Anita, you got me. I don't eat sardines. Tried lost of times, various types, but couldn't enjoy any of them. In fact, I keep a couple cans in my pantry just in case I get snacky and think I'm hungry. I tell myself that IF I'm REALLY hungry I could eat some sardines. Then, after thinking about it for a few minutes, I usually decide I'm not hungry after all LOL. BUT now I think I'm going to try them. All those recipes looked so good especially the Bisk. Yep, looks like I'm going to be trying this sardine challenge. I'm in.

I have some keto ebooks but nothing yet for carnivore. Here is the shop page on my site: ketogenicwoman.com/shop/
My favorite sardines are the skinless, boneless in 100% Olive Oil by Season Brand. 😋
the bones are excellent for your calcium intake! youll get used to them, they are so good!
Bacon wrapped sound good. I would just do them in the oven like a jalapeño popper. 400° for 20-30 minutes. Your videos are always the best.
Next time I will!
Ooooh, you could fill a jalapeño with sardine mixed in cream cheese and make a popper ! 😮
Dijon is NOT typically loaded with sugar🙄🙄🙄
I didn't think so!
Anita, God bless I just can't eat them the taste almost makes me sick. I know Sardines are an incredible superfood I have tried to eat them and my husband loves them and eats a can a day.
That's ok!
Anita, is the pate' appropriate for the 72 hour challenge, or is this meant to help people acclimate to sardines before doing the challenge?
It's a recipe for getting people to add more sardines to their daily rotation. But that said I am not the sardine police and so I am all for people doing what they need to do to get them down!
Guuuuurl…..you’re looking GREAT! Your confidence is HUGE. You’re so inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
Hateful words are not helpful. Mean people suck
Do you think the bacon wrap sardines could be done in the air fryer? I think so I might try it.
I do, I wish I had thought of that first!
Thank you. There are so few videos on sardine challenge.
Anita, you are an incredible inspiration!
Grey Poupon DOES HAVE SUGAR in the ingredient list. Your Maille brand does not and these two dijons taste very different. I stopoed buying Grey Poupon because of the sugar.
ok good to know, not even sure we have that brand here in Canada!
I tried these today and they came out delicious.😋 I only had thick bacon so I was a little worried, plus I didn't fry them but made them in the air fryer. Awesome 🐟Next dish, the salad. Thank you
I wanted to try them in the air fryer, it worked well?
I also grew up with sardines. They are very tasty! The recipes look amazing. Gonna try those. Sardines Super Food. ❤
They are!
Thanks Anita for such inspirational recipes. I’ll definitely try some of these. ❤
Maybe I didn’t scroll through correctly, but I was looking for the carnivore recipe Melba toast?
oh!, I'll double check, maybe I forgot to put the link there. I made those melba toasts in this video: ua-cam.com/video/AgW_lETxozk/v-deo.html
Anita, you can pull and stretch a piece of bacon and weap it around the food. Its a quick tip and the bacon will not break.
Hot/Spicey mustard/yellow mustard/Nutritional yeast/1 can of sardines in water! twice daily!
Hey Anita, I was reading the can of Egg white powder ,
It has Lauryl Sulfate.
You are so welcome!
Solid sardine offerings at COSTCO
Hi there! So proud of your weight loss! Just started watching you. I love your dish you eat your sardines out of. Keep up the good “weight loss” and healthy lifestyle. 👍🥰
Thank you!
I drain the olive oil out of my sardine cans into old vitamin bottles I keep for grease, so it doesn’t clog the sink.
I have found smoked sprats here in Australia. They are so delicious as I enjoy anything smoked.
Thank you, great tip!
Could you share the link for the carnivore Melba toast. I couldn’t find it.
I made them in this video: ua-cam.com/video/AgW_lETxozk/v-deo.html
I went to Walmart today,to my surprise, all sold out of sardines.
wow! who knew that would happen!
Thank you Anita you are awesome as always keep up the grate job love it ,I just finished my 72 h today feeling grate ,yes I am going to do it twice monthly thank you ❤
Anita, you look so much slimmer in this video than in February! Thank you for your videos ❤️
Thank you!💗
Delicious Recipes Anita!
Inam definitely trying these ideas
Thanks so much.
Love your Recipes ❤
I always thought it was "bristling" sardines. Fish with attitude. 😂😂😂I like sardines, but haven't done a challenge. Someday... These recipes are encouraging.
lol, that's a good one!
I can eat sardines directly out of a can and afraid if I start experimenting with tasty recipes I will eat too much
I haven't had that problem, but if you already eat and like sardines from the can (like I do!) then keep doing that!
Love these, thank you! I tried your sardine bites last week in the air fryer and really liked them! Can’t wait to try more of these.
Faces…LOL. Sardine Police… Made me laugh hard 😊
I have the same Sardine bag from Trader Joes!
Trader Joe’s smoked sardines are the best I have ever tried. Worth every cent of $1.69 here in Oregon.
Are they really smoky? I may get my dad to send me some 🐟
@@JazzyMamaInAK I would say yes, I bought the ones from Costco and am taking them back because the Trader Joe’s ones are so much better. To ship all the way to Alaska would be pretty steep I imagine.
@@laureln56 Flat rate Priority shipping isn't bad - all you can fit in the box for one price, whether it's books or horseshoes ; unfortunately no TJ's in the state
Thank you for all you do!
Thank you for all the good recipe ideas. 🐟I’m trying to acclimate to sardines. We really love the air fried bites! 😋
Love your videos 💞 always I learn something new 😊❤
I’ve never eaten sardines, someone recommended a certain brand which I bought. My husband asked me not to open the can in the house 😂 because guys he works with eat them and he said they stink to high heaven. I plan on stepping outside to try them but I can’t see cooking with them 🤷🏻♀️
Put the can in the fridge overnight and then try opening? Much less smell that way.
@@KetogenicWoman thank you, I’ll try that!
I'm in.
Maybe even just try it for a day!
