Grants Pass, Oregon. Scott Walter takes you on a fun tour of Applegate Lake south of Grants Pass, Oregon. The lake is just west of Ashland, Oregon and Medford, Oregon. We get to peek into the mountains where the Applegate River begins it journey down to the Wild and Scenic Rogue River. We hear about Murphy, Oregon, Ruch, Oregon, Applegate, Oregon and the famous covered McKee Bridge near the Star Ranger station in the beautiful Applegate Valley. I grew up in Medford in the 60s and 70s and went to the Applegate all the time. Before the dam was built there was a gorge that went through where the lake is.I have floated a inner tube many times from where the lake is to Cantrell Buckley park.

He is talking about Squaw Lakes where motors are not aloud... You can have a boat on the lakes, you just have to row

Motors are not allowed on Squaw Lake, which is five miles from Applegate Lake. Applegate does allow motors but water skiing would be impossible as there is a 10 MPH speed limit on the entire lake.
