Me too. I do love how this man introduces himself and looks clam
Same here i come back to listen to piece of work it sounds fantastic
no
Nope :)
Met this dude at a train stop. He played the entire Clair de Lune on a toy piano standing on his head while solving a rubix cube.
I can’t stop laughing at this
@@c.romano1428 thank you. I’ll be here all week. 😜

HAHAHAHAHAHA what a comment. Epic dude 😂👍
No he didn’t. Don’t lie.
This guy is not just a pianist or a musician. These words are too small. He is an artist….a genuine artist.
Pianist and musician are both longer words than artist. Just saying.
what the name of music
This man rekindled my love for the piano when I was moving away from it slowly. Now I’m pursuing a masters degree in music in college now. I’m so thankful for Tokio.
That's wonderful, hope you have great future with your music.
GOD BLESS YOU GO
You got this shit keep it up ❤️❤️
Keep on going!
That is the epitome of getting inspired. Keep it up!
he had his eyes closed the whole time. That is beyond impressive
I hate to say it but no he didn’t
@@nguyensinhcungyt975 I was gonna say the same
@@nguyensinhcungyt975 doesn’t matter even if he did, most pianists can play more difficult music than this with their eyes closed,
Called muscle memory.
@@chimpymcchimp6789 Ik that mate as an amateur pianist
@@nguyensinhcungyt975 no no not you but every other pianist knew it, wonder how Stevie wonder and Ray plays their easy music tho lol
The smile on Simon's face says it all - Tokio is a genius
Spirited Gal dude look like the giraffe from Madagascar but he did good👌👌
Spirited Gal tokyo
Spirited Gal nvm
Spirited Gal kaka,a
nut up or shut up
His energy is so focused on this moment in time, it's electric.
It’s because he’s not only ready for this, but he’s be waiting for this moment and he wasn’t gonna let it pass it by or waste it.
He’s in his element
I love that Tokio was offered a full scholarship to The Royal college of music. Such a wonderful college and I imagine it does look like Hogwarts. What a wonderful ambassador he is as well for his college and also his country.
Five years later and this performance still brings tears to my eyes.
.
Same dude.
I love how he connects with his music emotionally while playing, its who he is and what he loves.
He won without getting a golden buzzer, a real artist.
i saw him just before covid, live and it was honestly probably THE best musical experience i’ve ever had…absolutely beautiful
Oh wow.
Are you British?
No, I'm Tokio.
So you are Japanese?
No, I'm British.
😂good one
lol
:DDDD
I’m nervous
-> it’s all good
Me 👀
That's gonna age well
I have come back here again and watched in 2023 .. really enjoy his music
I've watched this so many times and I still get goosebumps. Imagine being there live to see it
I'm here with you
Tell me about it 😌
I get extremely emotional every single time. How did he not get a golden buzzer?
It's ok. He got the golden prize anyway😍
He won bgt in the end
bc he didn't sing, jk
Because his story wasn’t sad enough for the judges 🤷🏻♂️
Golden buzzer is more for people who you believe deserves that space but just might not git it
When its obvious thats they will do well they tend to save the buzzer for another act
Tokio's performance is truly amazing but what I love the most is right at the end when he finishes. He keeps his eyes closed and is being present and in the moment! I could only imagine the adrenalin rush he just experienced!
His energy all around...so pure. The creativity and art just divinely flowed out of him
Yes , music is a gift from Jehovah God !
Only real pianists don't clap when they are listening to an amazing piece, they clap after because they know the feeling when there is so much sound other than the pianos sound, it makes it much harder.
bruh what lmao
Yessss
@Nathan Varn this
@@bryvnxiii4632 it’s a distraction, you want to be in your zone. People clapping and cheering, while appreciated after the fact, can throw any great performer off easily.
@@bryvnxiii4632 in music there’s a beat, since clapping is usually not on that beat and unsynchronized it’s actually a major distraction to musicians. That’s why in ballets, operas, or classical concerts clapping only occurs once the movement has ended or the conductor puts down the baton. It’s also courtesy.
Love, love, love this guy and his ability to touch souls with his music. Great story; and then to find that he donated his winnings to a music school. Pure class.
5 years later and I still tear up hearing him play so brilliantly 👏 🥰👏👏
Until now, 2021, this still give me chills... in a good way :)
Brilliant. Love how he merged the 2 songs. It was very moving. He's off the charts. Wonderful how humble and grateful he is.
songs lmao
FYI, a composition of classical music is called a “piece” not a “song”.
@@nanadurango8639 FYI. Ed Sheeran's music is not classical and Debussy is a neo classical impressionist if you want to get specific. I'm a trained musician and teacher who didn't feel the need to speak in those terms. But since you mentioned it and are trying to be a snoot and rank people just thought you should have the actual information. Have a nice day .
@@georgiahughes6404 I understand your opinion, and I’m sorry because my intention is not to be confrontational. Also don’t appreciate the insult. But anyways, in my opinion Tokio was a good performer, he had the feels and the emotional touch, but in terms of difficulty that’s not something I’d expect a music uni graduate to play.
@@nanadurango8639 If you don't want insults don't insult people. Pretty simple.
If I could like a million times, that like button would wish it was never made.
When you play piano it transports you to another world.
Same with guitar. Playing your instrument does really transport you, it's an indescribable feeling that every musician understands.
True , I just started and I zone out at time when I’m playing songs . It’s a beautiful feeling
I just got my first piano today at 36 years old! Hopefully can help me with anxiety and some depression times
Love him, his personality. The arrangement is beautiful
Hello
Absolutely love Tokio, so so talented and have been lucky enough to see him play live
It must've been incredible to experience his brilliance!
Insane..the guy is spiritually gifted. A gift underrated.....may he continue flying like an eagle, unstoppable.
Goose bumps every single time I watch this audition. I'm so happy for Tokio. What a bright light in this world!
❤❤❤
Who still comes back to watch this in 2021,tokio is just soooo real,so inspiring
I just saw it for the 1st time.
@@superque4 Me too! And I'm so glad I did.
Beautiful amazing I love it give me more I’m a Fan!!!!!🎉🎊❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🤩🤩🤩🎊🎉
This wasn’t an audition, it was a performance!
People who like classical music and arrangements know he plays this beautifully and the transitions are fucking amazing.. raw talent ❤️❤️
What is the beginning piece called? I recognize it but don’t know the name
@@patwarrior3000 Clair de Lune
Is me that didn’t expect him to be 32 years old 😭
If he had said 24 I would be like ok
But 32? No
I just felt like he was younger looking
You guys don’t really know what a 32
year old looks like don’t you? Lmaoo
as they say Black don’t crack
@@h9peless Because 32 years old people all look the same. Grow up kid.
He's young at heart
His performance was ponderous and it was beautifully played, also love the build up to this song it starts slow and then get faster and it perfectly in time no wonder he got the golden buzzer it was astonishing
People don't know how to remain silent when a masterpiece is being performed
People are so uncomfortable with quiet and peaceful. When he first started the audience seemed restless.
Seems like if it's not loud, rude, and filthy they don't know how to receive it; then people wonder why they have high blood pressure and can't relax.
Listening to loud, word-filled music all the time is not good. Quietness helps to restore the soul.
This guy just lives through music. He feels the music. This is not just pure talent but passion and love. That means to love piano. That means to love music. 🎹❤🎼
Toquio, Congratulations from Portugal don't lose that, you put your soul in the music, don't stop.A kiss from Portugal 🇵🇹🙏👍😊
Come here again
.. inspiring man....art in itself 😪❤️
That's why clapping is very important to the musical artist he plays from the love of his soul. Thanks! For sharing your talent to us! We need new an up coming artist to come forward , from out of the shadow! And let your music light shine! So the whole world ! Can enjoy it! Again thanks!!!!
wow, this was incredible. He could build an empire one beat at a time.
Don't give the British any ideas Casey! :-)
Looks like we found him boys. 21st century musical genius
This is why everyone should have an opportunity in life.
There are those who can play piano and then there are those few who can bring out the soul of the piano.
Blows me away every time He 100% deserved the win legend
What a talent.
That piano at the start evokes such emotion.
Yes, Debussy's "Clair de Lune" has that impact on a lot of people - it was one of the first classical pieces I learned as a child. There's a dramatic part that I expected he'd play, but he began to morph the song just before it, and I was drawn in further, and rewarded with the powerful (programmed) vocal moaning and the percussive accents he added. He was mesmerizing to hear and watch. What a brilliant performance! 🎹 🎵
2022 still watching. Same emotions, same errything i felt the first time i watched you play for the first time. Love from South Africa🇿🇦❤️
Yep! Even in 2022 you're not the only one that keeps coming back to this audition. What a talent! 💯🔥🙌
No one, absolutely no one will beat this performance!!! what a musical genius!!
I came back after 5 years and I’m not disappointed
I started playing the piano because of him ❤️ LOVE YOU TOKIO!!!!
There has been some amazing performers on this show. But something about this one just gives me the chills. This guy is so talented I love it!
I envy anyone who has reached that deep into themselves and drug that much talent out to share with us all...!!!!!
It's an honor to hear and see!
I love how that random guy didn't hesitate to stand and clap. Brilliant performance
still come back to this video ever so often, i still get the goose bumps
To this day I will never understand how he didn’t get a golden buzzer , one of the greatest auditions ever !!
His performance was beyond golden buzzer - wish they had a platinum buzzer ;)
The judges wanted to see him more...so no golden buzzer
😂😂😂😂ok!! Def
It's like watching a master paint. Tokio is literally painting a picture in our minds with his music.
The moment that you can see a musician getting into the "zone." They are no longer "there. " They are in their own universe.
The talent is out of this world Quality
no , it's normal for me because I have already seen some guys like him on twitch, ome....
@@HOD001 ok Mr CEO of piano
