This video just put a huge smile on my face! 🙂 It's my favorite o'l school jet to begin with. I didn't even know these existed? Thank you so much for posting, I want one!
Have to give it to you gents, this is pretty much the best, most comprehensive and well polished video regarding an EDF I've seen. Fantastic to hear the short safety briefing. Abso'bloody'lutely marvellous job. Tip of the hat fellas, great job, and I have to say a masterclass in control, flight info, etc. Keep em coming. Looooooove freewing planes. The A-10 80-90mm is pretty much my dream foam EDF. All the best and kindest regards Dean Wales, UK
Dean, amazing words mate. Thank you so much for your following and we appreciate the comments for the time we put in. If you ever come Down under, make sure you come for a visit and we will take you out for a fly..
I still have my A-4,refinished with custom graphics from Callie,in Marines VMA-223 Bull Dogs livery it looks great,I have not flown it yet because of a stroke I had in May'20,but maybe soon I can,I also have the same gyro, you said the gain was 30% on the ailerons,20 0n the elevator and 40 0n the rudder, with the low rates on the aileron maybe being the high rates and a bit lower from that to fly better? Thanks Yoda, you are the tops!!
Great job!! I love this video on the Freewing A-4,for sure the best one on explaining all about the safety features and set-up! As far as the flying goes, you make it look easy and I know it is not easy flying with the smoothness and control that you have!!I'm a new pilot and not ready for an edf,but I am going to order one of these and put my own paint on it.I know there are better first time edf's,but I love the A-4 and one of these days when I quit landing my parkzone sport cub in trees and I fly a couple of other birds I have, maybe I will be able to fly one of these with a bit of experienced help. Thanks mates for all that you do to promote this great and fun hobby!!
I love this jet. It took me about 5 flights to feel comfortable with it. Maybe the L-39 would have been a better starter EDF. If you don't think you're ready for it, wait and get a trainer that is closer to a prop plane in performance first. The biggest hurdle I had to overcome was the short flight time. I set the timer now to 2 mins and that gives me time to setup a good approach and not hurry. I land at 3 mins with enough for maybe 1 more try. But by giving myself that 1 min warning with a 2 min timer, you can nail it on the first approach since you know you don't have to rush it.
I have been looking at the E-Flite 70mm Viper Jet,or maybe the Freewing 80mm F-86 for a first edf,but not sure yet.I like the L-39 a lot too! I need a good low wing prop plane to try now I think, any ideas?
EXCELLENT ordered one yesterday. Will add a hook for a catapult bungee launch and will land on strengthened drop tanks during bad weather wet grass etc. do this with all my freewing planes just added a hook and strengthened the drop tanks on my 90mm Euro fighter works perfect every time, and leaves the retracts in place for better conditions....the bungee launches are quite dramatic nearly as good as steam on a deck.never grow up do we..(:.Jeff
Nice to see a professional approach to a review. This video should be compulsory viewing to all who review for the internet. Do you have any more reviews I wonder?
Do these a4 freewing kits come with the decals already transfered onto the model or do you have to place them on yourself? Looks like yours were already on the model. Great informative video by the way!
how can I change or take the wheels off this jet I have some jp hobby brakes I wanna install please help ?just main gear only need to change wheels , thanks
What do you mean? I have both and the 262 is waaaaay faster than the A-4. The A-4 is smaller and gets even smaller a lot quicker but is a joy to fly when properly balanced. Do yourself a favor and get one. You won't regret it.

Looks incredible Steve, wish the kit came with all the details you'v added, for a few dollars more it would have been worth it!
Thank you, for the nice video I have a question about the radio control. What radio control you have used?

great vid, so you recommend that the Elevator be at low rates too?
Thanks for your comment, that's exactly right. As shown in the video, we were using low rates only. Thanks for watching.

Ditch the ridiculous introductions and put your energy into better audio quality including microphones and output level controls.
Delete idiotic first 30 seconds.
