Not to mention his viewer base is the exact demographic that these books want to target.
Either you’re a sports fan in your teens who’s gonna look forward to the day you can legally gamble, or you’re a sports fan in your 20s thinking “why not I’ll give it a shot, I watch a lot of sports” and then next thing you know you’re losing $5-$20 bucks a week betting, and you don’t realize it because you’re winning on some of the bets.
It’s literally like marketing cigarettes to kids. Like that’s why they do it, they’re only paying him as a sponsor because they’re making that money back from his audience.
Really respect you thinking about the sports betting relationships your company makes. Betting and the NBA will be inseperable, it's just a reality of the game now. I appreciate you approaching your sponsorships with ethics and integrity.

In my opinion, whether or not sports betting itself is immoral isn't completely relevant in this situation. The issue wasn't about gambling, it was about compromising the integrity of the game- which regular bettors can't really do. But hey, I'm not a huge gambling advocate anyway, so I trust whatever decision you make Kenny.

(Not hating) I feel like I’ve noticed a large uptick in errors across a bunch of his channels like titles, wrong player names/ages, stats, attention to details even in things like quizzes that younger Kenny was super good about. I love his takes, but i feel like he’s spread a bit too thin given the recent quality.

Unpopular Opinion: The Play-In Game needs a cutoff point. If the #9 seed is five or more Games behind the #8 seed the Play-In won't be played and seeds #7 and #8 just go into the Playoffs like it was before the Play-In got introduced. The Bulls are seven(!) Games behind the Heat, the Hawks ten even, both with a negative Record. Neither of these Teams have any business of playing Playoff Ball.
If there was a limit of max Games a #9 seed is allowed to be back, teams down there also would play meaningful Ball in the Regular Season again. After the All-Star Break the Bulls were 13-14 with Ls against the Pistons, Rockets, Wizards and Hawks. Had they had a reason to play harder, without already being locked into the Play-Ins, they might've won those Games.

For one, this isnt breaking company policy, it’s literally a crime. The nba knows he bet and banned him, yet they’re still investigating because they have to hand all their findings over to federal prosecutors.
Secondly, an nba star has no incentive to bet. They make too much money as is, the money they would make from betting wouldn’t be worth the risk of never getting another contract and losing all their sponsorships.
Like use some common sense, is Jayson Tatum gonna leverage $500 mill of possible career earnings so he can take his over 2.5 3s made at -115? And he can’t even bet more than $20k on it without being the most suspicious account in the world 😂.
Thirdly, there’s so much money involved and on the line in the relationship between sports and gambling that there’s no sweeping this under the rug. The sports books monitor the big winners, the league monitors anonymous tips and suspicious activity, and the feds monitor them both.
Fourthly, neither the Shohei or MJ stuff is as dangerous to the league as this. Shohei never placed a bet, he didn’t even know some of the money was gone I believe. And MJ never got caught betting on games. He liked to bet in casinos, but DraftKings wasn’t around in 1995. The stuff you’re alluding to is a conspiracy theory made up by his haters to blame him for his own father’s death.

I like Jimmy. But, playing at less than your max during the season when you're the best player on a team (because let's be honest you don't have to worry about getting traded). Means that if you have an elimination game like last night and you get hurt, that's it for your teams season.
Again, like I say, I like Jimmy. But if you decided to be an example during the year though and ended up with more wins, you might have avoided the play-in completely. It's not like the West that is so competitive.
This is incredibly simplistic. If the Heat need Butler to carry them out of the playin they get cooked in the first round. Their best performances relied on Butler hard carrying during the playoffs so it makes sense for him to save his energy. He's 35 now. Most people can't do a Lebron. Think about when the Heat had their best results. They have to maximize for the run.
