@YourDriverMike I'm currently at 7, I haven't seen peak pay in my market for weeks. I only dash part time while I do walmart sparks orders for a few hours after I get off my w2 job. I honestly don't do enough dashes to have an answer, I may sign up for 20-25 hours of dash each week, but the majority of the time I have dd paused as I'm doing walmarts. I do an average of 4-5 dashes a week, because I do it on the side of sparks, and I make sure the dashes I accept are worth my time, fuel and money

    • @rickyd172

And the earn by time isn't an option worthwhile in my market, doordash pays $10.25 to $10.75 for EBT. That barely covers fuel at today's prices

Peak pay never happens on DD anymore in my area. The grocery delivery is terrible. Way too much work for the money you're compensated. I took a Costco type store delivery once because it looked like it was worth it. Come to find out it was a bunch of very heavy items that I ended up having to take up some stairs. Took forever at drop off. It wasn't worth it after all.

Also I recently got on the catering program with doordash. I use to struggle with 20 an hour now last week i worked 50 hours average over 30 an hour. So it has definitely improved. Your putting your own Car on the line for them, your paying for your own Gasoline and car Maintenance at the end your making less that $15 per hour and the stress of not getting good orders, like the $4 or $5 orders you get to go drive 15 miles, and then if you don't take them Doordash can stop sending you orders if the feel like it, it's not worth the Stress they put you through , and all the miles your putting into your car that you won't recover, Just find a real Job, something that has Full benefits, 401k and Union

My AR is just above 50%. But that's only because they just reset my rate 2 weeks ago and I finally got smart enough to pause dd when I'm doing something else. 25-30% of the offers that come in are immediate middle finger at the screen then hit reject. Under . 50/mile are things I see multiple times a day when I do this in my days off. The other 20-25% are things I'll at least consider but either they take me away from where I want to be or I just don't feel like doing them.

I've been dashing since Nov 2022. To date, I've completed 3.5K deliveries. Over the past year, at least in my market (Missoula, MT), peak pay has all but disappeared. Moreover, the quantity and quality of offers have declined.
I multi-app, fortunately. I also won't accept trash offers. But it's becoming more difficult to earn more than $20/hour of "dash time" and $2/business-mile driven, which are non-negotiable metrics for me.

In my area peak pay has almost been replaced with challenges. Deliver 5 in a row for extra an $8. I have completed the challenges multiple times and on average it washes out that one of the orders is like a $2 for 6 or 8 mile run. The orders get deliver you get at least a $1 per mile. BTW i am a top dasher with 80%AR. I also want to mention that the challenges helped ky AR too. I used to float at around 74%AR. I have got to do twice as a new TD Dick's Sporting Goods multi deliveries. Picked up 8 orders dropped them all off and got $46 for 38.2 miles. Those are no tip flat rate deliveries but easy deliveries and good timing cause only 1 pickup.

85-90% of orders aren't worth the gas and/or wear and tear on my car. I haven't been over 25% AR in the past nine months. Peak Pay only shows up once every six weeks or so and they've had to run a $200 referral program since August/September which has led to a steady stream of new dashers to take the orders I decline. The lowest order I'll take is $4 for under 1 mile, which means I don't do Add-Ons since they dropped that rate to base pay in most situations.

DD driver, def reject 1/2 to 2/3rds of the offers as they're just not worth driving your car to do. I'm guessing there's enough new drivers that take alot of these (before quitting) and it keeps the offer prices down (costs lower for DD). Have noticed that virtually all the other gig apps aren't accepting new drivers (beyond Uber Eats which is worse than DD in hourly here) in this area - and the reviews on all of them are talking about payouts being terrible...much worse than a year ago...if the economy gets worse, the gig companies will drive driver pay as low as possible...this just won't be worth it (we're already pretty close to this) for any of them beyond Uber / Lyft ride sharing...
I do stuff in a high income suburb of Chicago, I can generally do close to $20/hr lunch and dinner on normal days via DD, but it can easily fall to $16 or so occasionally. Don't try to keep your acceptance rate above 50%, its a trap by the company to do runs at loss for you / cheap for them. (have had DD respawn the same denied offers over and over on me just ratcheting that acceptance rate down)
