    Do you all think the wireless function should be added in the next version of the Osmo Pocket? Let me know what you think!

      It should have been included in the first place IMHO! I would think they did not include it for 2 reasons;
      1. To gain more revenue by selling the seperate module.
      2. So people buy the next version for the convenience of having wireless built in.
      This is not the first time DJI (or most other companies) have worked this way and it will never change. I was going to purchase 4 'Pockets' but only ended up getting one for this reason alone. The lack of built in wireless connectivity was just nuts and to have to attach the non-grip-friendly base is crazy. Why did they not design it so it just looked like an extension of the body. Much easier to hold in the hand with it attached.
      DJI are leaps and bounds ahead of the competition but I sometimes really do wonder who makes these types of decisions! :-(

    Now that's a helpful review! Thank you. No wonder DJI didn't put a female 1/4"-20 mount in the wireless module base as it would have likely blocked part if not all of the chips wifi antenna (unless they used plastic 1/4"-20 screw ports which wear out quick). The wireless live view and remote control range test data of 50ft was very helpful to know too. Can we ask, where did you hear of circa 200ft range please? Thanks. VPP

    THANKS for the teardown vid and going in first! I just got the wifi module and I'd like to add better antennas. Any idea what type of rf connectors those are on the top frame at time 5:34? (the four tiny squares with the black dot) Are they rf connectors? If they are it would sure make moding the antenna easier (possible!) Thanks again for the vid!!

    Have you tested the range of the remote gimbal control? What if you had it on a drone and a second operator controlled the osmo?

    Does the Camera battery power have anything to do if the module will connect? My pocket does not always get the red light lit.

    Do you find the device overheating more using the skins?

    Will that wireless module works with pocket 2?

    My understanding was that the blutooth connection was only for setting up the wifi connection.

      Hmm, well as soon as an update fixes the Bluetooth connection problem, I will have to check it out!

      That's all it is for they could have just popped an NFC sticker in there to do the same.

    Wow, that is what we paid $59 for ... Sure doesn't look like much. Thanks for the inside look.

      Yeah I think it should be built into the next generation. I suppose this was part of their marketing plan and it worked on you and I! :)

    Great video gave it a like. Does the camera keep working if you switch apps to something else? I want to use this with a TelePrompTer app. Setup the perfect shot, turn the camera on, and then switch to a TelePrompTer app. Think that will work?

      Thanks for the like! Honestly I am not sure. That sounds like an awesome concept, unfortunately I broke my pocket in a teardown video so I can't test it for you until I get a replacement. Sorry I am not more help. 😕

    Hi i have a question,
    It may sound stupid but can you connect it with a samsung phone that has a micro usb port? I have already tried different ways of connecting the osmo pocket to my samsung phone(OTG, male USB C to male micro USB,...) but none of them works. So i thought, maybe if i buy the wireless module, i finally can use the mimo app.

    • @BaldManMotors
      @BaldManMotors  5 років тому

      Great question! So the tablet I am using only has micro USB so I believe that it is possible as long as your phone is able to run the DJI Mimo and be stable I think it should work. I tested this module on other devices as well that do not have lightning or USB-C and they work. Hope this helps and thank you for your question!
