Very Nice Show Steve! That Tree shows good promise . I'm here in Bonsai Today because of a Formal upright sighting when I was a kid. Twisted or perfectly straight I love Bonsai.
That’s quite a find Steve. Nice initial pruning. This will make a spectacular formal upright. Mine actually started turning red in August. One very important thing to know about burning bush is that they are are a single flush tree. So come early summer if you do any pruning that’s it for growing until the following spring. Thanks, keep growing
Burning bushes/trees are beautiful. I remember when I was little, my mom driving way out of her way each fall just to see a certain burning bush. They really do look like they are on fire.
@@Steves_Backyard_Bonsai speaking of fire, I see you guys are getting more smoke from the good folks up north. We have experienced it a lot in Minnesota this summer.
Try the garage sales or ask your wife for an old tube. So many different options for colors. Use the tube lipsticks. The brush on ones not good. My niece gave me one to try. Terrible. Tube lipsticks the best. With Halloween coming, you can try the glow in the dark ones. I tried on my big rose bushes, glows at night.
We never stop learning, Steve, especially on trees we never tried. Always great to try different trees. Especially the ones out of our comfort zone.
I love trying out different varieties.

Thanks Patricia. I love Bonsai too.
Nothing cuts wood like Ironwood. Those pruners are the best in my book.
I’m really happy with them. “Got tough wood…”!

It’s quite a unique specimen. Thanks Matt

I’m hoping to get some dense foliage next season, and then I won’t touch it until the following spring. Can’t wait for it to catch fire! 🔥

It has been a bit hazy, but nothing like we had in June.
Lovely trunk and bark on your tree. I've heard Burning Bush called Winged Euonymus.
Thanks Susan. They are certainly winged.
A tedious task, pruning this tree, but a job well done. Trunk on this tree is nice. Like a tree in the wild.
Thanks Tom. I got real lucky with this nursery find.

Your rose must look awesome at night! Thanks Tom.
You apparently are aware of the single flush 😂
Yes, my branch selection will come in spring when the buds are swelling.
