Here is the catch. Even a CAT5 cable can give 12.5 MBps at 10 ns ping. Our ethernet speed is limited due to the cables used by network provider which is usually CAT5E/6
Hooking up CAT 7 cable between your modem and computer is same as fitting larger pipe at the end of small pipe and expecting more water.
CABLE IS LEAST OF YOUR WORRY.

Ping = 1/frequency. For Cat 5 f= 100 MHz = 10 ns. Typically your ping is limited by network provider even Cat 5 cable is good for nall household and office application. Including gaming
