I love this video! I am really considering buying a horse! I really want one! :) I ride but don’t have my own! Do you have any websites you suggest buying a horse off of.
I think facebook is a good source. I personally have had and witnessed some pretty bad experiences via websites such as Equinenow and would neither buy from nor sell any horse on there.
Totally up to you though, what I like about facebook is that there are tons of rules and restrictions in facebook groups made for buying and selling horses which I find do flush out the obvious scams. I live in California and I am in the California Horses and Tack group and so are many of my friends who have bought horses from ads in the group and have had great experiences.
I hope you find the perfect horse for you!!
Thanks! This really helped! 💗🫶🏻
This sooo helpful thank you ❤
This was great thank you for posting :)
i do have 1 question, how do i stop my horse from biting? he guards his stall and if you stand next to his stall he will bite. how can i correct him and fix his biting?
Ik I’m not her but i have fixed some of my horses from biting with not giving treats out of the hand and if he does bite u give him a bop on the nose if he doesn’t react to the bop do it a bit harder and it’s not hurting him it’s just saying hey don’t do that if that doesn’t work I don’t have an answer have a good day/night
@@Ng_rodeoofficial thank you! we have tried that, we stopped hand feeding him treats and give him treats in his feed bucket. which we thought was working but he does do these little nips, so we will give him a bop but the thing is he goes back even harder. he will pin his ears back and really try to take a good bite out of you
@@SPOOKYSZN-e4m I had a horse with the same problem, I believe he was doing it because of his food. When I feed him I carry a crop and make him back up, he dosent get food till he backs off, dump his feed or whatever while still keeping him back. Then let him get his food. Fixed it in 2 days lol. Let me know if you still need help!
@@rileymaverickspewman8064 okay ty! i will try it!
@@rileymaverickspewman8064 yes my horse doesn’t have aggression when I feed but I never want him to be pushy or develop anger so I make him back up a step or two before I feed him!❤
it is so sad on the horse when a beginner does not understand how to use it correctly, great video
i’m just wondering i’m a complete novice i have done a lot of research over horses over the past few weeks but i’ve only had about 4 horse riding lessons and i really really wanted a horse for my birthday (in january) and i’ve been told to wait about 3 years before getting a horse but i just wanted a second opinion is it really that bad to get a horse even when your a beginner? like only a few months beginner, thank you!! x
Its alot of commitment and money. I dont recommend it for a beginner- ive been riding for over 3 years and I just lease a bunch of horses and hopefully and going to do a full lease soon. trust me after only 4 riding lessons getting a horse is not a good idea. You have to go to your barn everyday and its LOTS of money.
@@littleoceanwarrior4202 thank you so much i needed to hear that trust me😅have you got any tips to get more experienced? i just have a riding lesson every week and that’s about it i’m a bit stuck on how to get more experienced around taking care of horses and just things i need to know but i’m planning on leasing a horse in a few years time :)
Theirs also more to it then just time it takes to make sure the horse is good and safe. And vet bills, farrier, emergency vet bill you never knoww. Etc etc.
But also training. If you're just starting out, then training is still not a thing yet. In my opinion before getting a first horse. Their should be a basic level at minimum to training/ horsemanship to understand horses body language and know you what initiative youu need to handle a horse that may one day act up. So you don't become surprised and panic.
I love horse and want one to. My goal beforehand other than affording one
Is some level of horsemanship. And knowing how to feel/ ride well.
So that for my first horse... if something is off. I can tell something is off vs not knowing and next thing you know the horse develops a bad problem over time. Causing potentially a huge vet bill and the horse hurting.
@@esaflaka9155 thank you so much that is really helpful for me im gonna work on that too and maybe lease a horse in a few years time! :)
Love you video
Please do one one the correct knots
How much dose all of the stuff cost?
I’m like so late lol but you can just google, a lot of these things can come kinda cheap but the things the horses wear like the blankets can go very expensive
ALOT it’s all so expensive but worth worth it because my horses are happy and safe
Usually depends on brands and if you ever need to get multiple is always great to have extra on hand as I’m a owner for three horses and barrel racer but it also depends on what discipline or sport if your looking into sports or just a trail ride
So basically prices vary but I would say just get what’s best for your horse and yourself there are much cheaper routes and options that you can go on but me PERSONALLY I choose the high end brands that my horses love and that are durable for long hauls and that last me the barrel racing season ❤ if you are getting a horse I wish you luck and just remember to keep calm and there are many videos on steps to being a horse owner but me personally as I am a horse owner of three you definitely will get the hang of it but I recommend having a trainer or a friend or watch videos from trainers since there are also trainers on the internet ❤ but I wish you luck and trust me you will be a champ in no time with your horse. ❤😝
hello please I've been on the lookout for the perfect pony for my granddaughter.. have gone all through a bunch of Facebook groups but I've not seen what I'm looking for.. does anyone have any trusted sellers?
i spent 6 months on Facebook and it was not a good experience. I finally reached out to the barn owner where I was taking lessons and asked her to find me a horse. she is hauling him for me in 2 days. i'm super exited.. i can share her contact if you want

Is it OK if my horse keep scratching on the fence and hair
comes off
You might want to get him\her allergy tested
@ ok good to know
I'm having trouble understanding/visualizing what you mean with/about the halter and trailer things
How do you know if ur saddle fits your horse or not? Besides the horse bucking or whatever
this is exactly what I'm wondering, I'm planning on getting my very first horse soon and have no idea how to know what size saddle to get lmfao
I recommend talking to a professional. But after you get your horse, you have to make sure your saddle fits. Never purchase a saddle before getting the measurements of your horse.
How do you know if the saddle fits on your horse?
Ask a saddle fitter
I asked my mom for a pony and She said if i learned all the things i have to have/or buy to get one She said that we will talk ab it:) so i will maybe get my pen pony:D
