hauntingly beautiful. This started playing on my bedtime spotify and i started noticing it, even waking up when half asleep. Their voices are nice together too. This song put me on to both of them. :)
I heard this song for the first time last Friday on WMOT when she performed at 3rd & Lindsley. Being spiritually connected to water this song has left a strong visceral memory inside me. God I love this song!!
Wow Amy, I heard you play this song live in Utah. I agree with the comment below, it is a reminiscent song, "much like getting old and remembering". It is a moving song, one that most of us who have had a passionate love can remember. On the flip side of it, from an empowerment perspective, "the shore" got more fierce for herself and her own value and worth and grew strong to resist the temptation of a relationship that was ultimately not good for her. Beautiful, & profound. Thank you.
I heard Amy perform this song, solo, at a house concert near Houston this past year. It is an amazing, wonderful song. Of course it is meant to be a duet. So poignant, and she is so talented. This song just takes your breath away.
Amy, your previous doubts of whether you could write a song should be dashed completely with this poetry. What a living, singing metaphor you have presented us with. Voices blend perfectly with haunting words. Do not listen to this in the light of day, but wait until you are alone and in the quiet of late night. Beautiful.
just had to say thank you Bob Harris for playing tonight herd it in the car on my way home and I just can not stop listening to it its just magnificent thank you.
This song is truly one of the most beautiful songs I have ever had the pleasure of listening too! I can't get it out of my mind. Thank you, really, thank you!
I've listened and watched repeatedly since I first heard this song this morning. Can't get enough! Wonderful, beautiful, poignant song. And I love the marionettes! And the pairing of John's voice with Amy's is sheer bliss for the ears. Perfection.
Wow, what a haunting, but lovely, song. It made me sit up and take notice when I herd it on the RADIO (WRUR-FM Rochester) and so I did I search on the internet and found this video and yeah, it has it too! Life has those poignant moments where we 'come back around' with those remembrances and in full realization of (our) short comings and regrets, again we have to continue on.As the French say C'EST LA VIE.(This is Life)..
For anyone who loves, watches and listens to the ocean from the shore, this is one of the best songs ever written and sung by this duo of that environment. Beautiful!
Wow, this may be a classic of our era, actually! What more perfect collaboration could we hope for than Amy and John? This is just stellar! Amy, you are just a killer [Killer in Me] of a writer, and John is one of the finest artists of our time. Hope I see more of you two together. Excellent, excellent, excellent!
Oh my. My, my, my. Been a long, long time since a song (and video) moved me so. Truly beautiful and emotive song. Incredibly well performed. The puppets work - who'd of thought? The winter trees, gravel road - put me right back in my home, Tennessee. Nicely done - to ALL involved. Especially Amy.
I'm a "new" fan of John Fullbright, and when I listen to too much "country" music, I have to listen to John and his peers. and I saw this. Wow. You truly have a beautiful voice. Now I'm a big Amy Speace fan.
Had the privilege of seeing this song performed live by both John and Amy last Sunday in Dublin. Amazing performance. One of the best gigs I have ever been too :-)
My ex girlfriend used this song to explain her anxiety and insecurities to me at the very beginning of our relationship and now two years later we broke up last week and I can't help but cry when I listen to this song now
Digging it! I came across this looking across your material as you're the only act on Saturday night at WoodyFest that I am not well familiar with! I shall have to remedy that shortly! Looking forward to your set there!
UA-cam played this one when I was listening to Amy Speace. Love it! Beautiful lyrics and duet.
hauntingly beautiful. This started playing on my bedtime spotify and i started noticing it, even waking up when half asleep. Their voices are nice together too. This song put me on to both of them. :)
Happiness is enjoying the music; sadness is understanding the lyrics.
Melancholy Sweet beauty.
I dont know how I haven't heard this til today... it is the I mean prolly THE most beautiful thing I've ever heard.
Just Beautiful
Really beautiful song
My God--every heartbreak in life in words, haunting.
I'd been a big fan of John for several years.
This feeling we have listening to this: this is what words, music and song are for. Meaning deeper than words alone can touch.
Amen!

I fell in love with this song this weekend at Summerfolk!
From out of nowhere to my favourite song! , a lucky moment driving my car listening to bob harris show, dark empty roads. And this a great moment!

Amazing! Just friggin amazing. I was mesmerized from the beginning.

Love this so much.
What a beautifully written song, the kind you feel was written just for you...
It's funny, but I think I know exactly what you mean about the song being written for you. God Bless and Peace.
I'm a "new" fan of John Fullbright, and when I listen to too much "country" music,

Wow.
You truly have a beautiful voice.

Both great artists.
Congratulations to Amy and crew on a deeply moving song and production. And Fullbright is perfection.
Beautiful. The lyrics, the voices.
Very deep! Love this song.
what a hauntingly beautiful song and video. Fullbright's demeanour in this video is just so appropriate. Stunning.

Oh my, it's soooo good to hear great music! Kudos both of you. Just an amazing piece of work.
It made me cry. A bit too much like my getting old and remembering.
Heart wrenching ! and is so often the way it is .
Magical!
WOW Amy. Just beautiful. Can't wait to see you live in Lyons next year - I believe Planet Bluegrass can rebuild.
A perfect song.

Beautiful song! Love the arrangement :)
Beautifully poetic, tactile, bitter/beauty/sweet, deeply touched, Ty

Hey Amy - Matai's mom Linda (FISH) writing here)
This reminds me of a strange and opposite rendition of Pretty Fair Maiden.
2019
May I use this song in a video if I properly cite it?
I love the music, the lyrics, the voices - beautiful stuff - BUT the friggen puppet freaks me out! I hate clowns, circuses, carnivals and puppets! :>)
Olmuş.
