Wish I was wrapped in fragile bark
So I could show all my knots and scars
And I could carve all their stories
Wish I was covered in delicate leaves
That quivered in the gentlest breeze
And they could see when I am weak
Wish I could tremble like an aspen
But it's been so long that I've been passing for an oak
No one ever thinks of asking
If I'm ok
