I am laid up for a few months with a sucky hernia surgery 4 months recovery. Didn't get to deer hunt this year which was the first in a long time. I won't be doing my ice fishing.
I know the feeling boss, I had a Whipple surgery where they took part of my stomach, pancreas, intestines, removed the gallbladder and bile ducts after cutting the entire length of my stomach open. Flair helped me pass time too, good luck brother and a speedy recovery!!

I was just watching the vintage duck hunting challenge from three years ago and I was waiting for a new video and one popped up out of nowhere😂😂😂😂😂 good stuff
When I cook sausage in the blind I slice them in the plastic about 1/2 "then peel the ring off then put it on the hot griddle let it cook for just long enough to color the first side grey (20-30 seconds) then flip it and smash it. the slightly cooked sid doesn't stick to the flipper.
Good God all that cooked food looks so damn good from breakfast to dinner what a epic last duck hunt of the season diceing onions ain't that bad with the right knife amazing video as always I can't wait for the next one
A little trick i discovered: wear nitrile gloves. They won’t protect against the cold-BUT they will keep your hands completely dry. So when you stick your hands back in your pockets they instantly start warming up.
I was a prep-cook way back in the day, To peel the onion, cut off both ends, make a vertical slice and peel off 2 to 3 layers (this is because of mould as onions grow under the soil).
I’m from SW IA and heard from a wildlife biologist that the flood this year really messed everything up and combined with the temps staying warmer so long up north they aren’t coming down the flyway like they used to

Our season out here is until Jan. 18th and seems like the conditions are just starting to pick up. Personally, I'd say it's a good year for me to be jumping back in it after 7 years and having to solo learn the ropes.
I will be watching you guys to get my fix on the outdoors you put out great videos for I always look forward to them unfortunately I get terribly sick when I have surgery the anesthesia makes me terribly ill and quite Moody I feel bad for the nurses and doctors because I'm not friendly when I come out of anesthesia unfortunately

Flair. I'd like to see you guys try to make Chorizo burritos with your ground duck meat. All you gotta get is fresh eggs, Tortilla with the duck meat, ground up, and chorizo seasoning. Yum😅
flair just a tip for handling ground meat with hands. wet your hands and it wont stick to them just dip your hands in water every now then (im a meat cutter for my job)
Gotta make sure the meat is really cold almost damn near frozen for best grind, if you grind up close to room temp meat its always gonna come out mush because of all the friction that occurs in the grinder.

You guys had good weather for it, it's been warmer than normal and a la Nina year so it's not pushing them as far south I'd imagine
FYI once onions are translucent, you can put a pinch if baking soda in, itll raise the PH and make it turn brown and caramelize much faster

Had a great duck season in ND and that’s because of how late winter was, we got an extra 3 weeks of hunting and getting plumed out birds
The frozen sausage patties from Walmart would have been perfect for these. Thin, little spicy, and easy to heat up.
So far we having a bangin season in CA, early lots of mallards and now lots of good duck limits

I had a bad duck season. Lot more Canvasback and Gawalls, but lacking mallards and Wigeons. The geese hunting has been the best I've ever seen though.

When spreading the onions into the pan use the top of the knife for your daw the blade
