Like his point on prophecy from
1 Corinthians 14:31.
The Scripture is not saying “For you can all prophesy…”, as in everyone in the Church can prophesy. That interpretation actually goes against 1 Corinthians 12:29-30.
What the verse is saying is, “For you can all (the two or three prophets prophesying from the previous verses) prophesy one by one, so that all (the congregation) may learn and all (the congregation) be encouraged.”The chapter is about the order of worship in the church, so that the Body of Christ can be edified.
Please be discerning and read the Word of God for yourself and understand the Scriptures.

The nine gifts
Discerning gifts
1. words of knowledge-
Knowing something specific without learning it by natural means
2. Word of wisdom- a divine answer or solution for a particular event
3. The discerning of spirits- to be made aware of demonic spirits
The declarative gifts
1. Prophecy- a message of encouragement from God through regular people ( 1 Corinthians 14:31 for you can all prophesy one by one that all may learn and all may be encouraged)
2. Tongues- a message from God that comes in a different language translated. (1 Corinthians 14:5)

Mostly these gifts are categorized in three
Gifts of Revelation:
gift of wisdom,
Gift of knowledge and
Gift of discernment of spirits
Gifts of Inspiration:
Prophecy,
Speaking in differentTongues, Interpretation of tongues.
Gifts of Power:
gift of faith,
gift of Healing,
gift of performing Miracles
That is the 9 manifestations of the Holy Spirit concerning this category of gifts.

What does it take to be Saved?
Faith Alone

Are we all sinners?

Yes, the Holy Spirit is the OWNER of the gifts, BUT He gifts us Christians with the gifts and the gifts BECOME ours and we are responsible for the use of the gifts. What is given, is given. When I am given, it is mine.
The GIFTS of the HOLY GHOST such as prophecy, miracles, healing, etc will NOT take anyone to Heaven. That is why Jesus said In Matthew 7:21-23, "Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." These rebellious people received the gifts of the Holy Ghost but do not have the covering of the HOLY SPIRIT. They do not walk in the spirit to obey the commandments of Jesus with holy, righteous works. The GIFT that is the HOLY SPIRIT is what we MUST receive to then OBEY Jesus's commandments to inherit Heaven. God the Father will give the Holy Spirit to those who FIRST repent of their sin and desire to sin no more. The evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit is NOT signs, wonders, miracles; rather it is holy, righteous, godly living.
Your words are filled with the spirit, I appreciate the time and dedication you've put into this. I want to return all the glory to God for what he has done in my life. He has given me financial peace of mind and fruitful tree that shall not wither. He has asked me to spread his word, email me to tap into this anointing. God has instructed me to share freely what I received for free.

Pastor Todd is right on point with that speaking in tongues he is explaining it exactly the way I know it to be and to work in the order it should go when you have a word from the Lord and when you have something to say to the congregation and I've been around the differences I appreciate this sermon I praise God

I had this thought too.
There should be a difference I should imagine because we are in a better covenant with better promises? Perhaps with respect to the Corinthian church they seemed so immature in faith and separating into groups criticising others, that there was an abuse going on there of criticising, not from any good reason but factionalism and people wanting to be top man?
Paul does seem to give a warning prophecy in Acts to the Ephesus church when he finally leaves it, not targettng specific people though.

I met an old friend after my husband died and for months I was out of god's will because I thought he was bringing me comfort and now I can't get my mind off him no matter how bad he treated me why is my mind doing this to me I pray and still free.
