Something I haven't mentioned in any of my breakdowns but definitely should have by now... the opening title sequence for this show is something special! The visuals and audio sums up the mood and tone of the series to a T!
Daphne saying in the last ep “it’s hard to keep girlfriends” and then seeing him continuing to hit on Harper. Maybe Cameron tries to fuck all her friends. Damn.
In the restaurant scene with Portia and Jack might indicate that the group doesn't have money or Jack is an escort, who has to be paid. Tanya's hubby might be behind of this due to the prenup he had to sign. But it's just a crazy thought. I loved Daphney and Harper in this ep. I cannot wait to find out how this vacay ends. Unfortunately, only two eps have left :( This season is as good as the first one but in a different way, which is so refreshing. I hope, season 3 won't be repetitive.
only thing I would say is that Daphne showed a picture of her kids (w/ blonde hair and big blue eyes) for a reason..... Pretty obvious those kids are more than likely the trainers. 😇
If that’s the case, than, I could imagine Daphné mat be planning to kill Cameron, since she may know about his financial situation and you know, « you gotta do whatever you have to to get your revenge… and also, she may get a big life insurance policy…
I agree that this was a standout episode of a stellar series. Also, it seems almost certain that Daphne's trainer is the father of her two blonde children - and that Daphne wanted Harper to know that fact.
Interesting.... thank you for that take, as if its true, I was oblivious to it, the subtle "evilness" or her passive/aggressive behaviour. Such a great series that I wait patiently for each Sunday,,, cheers
I think that Daphne already know what happened during the night they were away and that she showed Harper photo of the kids to imply that she is not a loser in their game. Horrible couple. They remind me of the couple who declare too much love in soc med when in real life you know their relationship is weak.
I think Daphne showed Harper the picture of her children because that’s the main reason she still with her husband. The kids are a reason for him not ask her for divorce so she can still be rich and they both sleep with whoever they want, and she says Harper should get a "trainer", meaning she should get pregnant so her husband won’t leave her and she will still have this extravagant lifestyle. Daphne actually likes Harpe, this was like rachel receiving advice from her mother in law in season one.
This episode more or less confirmed what I had begun to suspect after seeing "Sandbox" when Quentin carefully manipulated Tanya in to joining his party at the beach club, after trying to catch her eye after the departure of her husband Greg. It was Greg's anger at seeing Portia and his clandestine phone call that made me think he was some how involved in a plot to get Tanya's money because of their argument about their financial disparity. And the 'nephew' Jack (the rent boy) who suddenly turns up in the pool at the end the previous episode, made it all seem to be a foil to keep Portia out of the way and distracted while Quentin grooms Tanya with understanding and sympathy; the deadly hints at his true intent were in the story about the old woman killed for her villa in "Sandbox" which seemed to be confirm by him asking about whether she, Tanya, would be willing to die for beauty? Another nagging question: is Greg the handsome cowboy from Quentin's travels, who got old? And is this the connection between him and Tanya? The real puzzle is how do they try to get at Tanya's fortune: by killin her or proving infidelity in the prenuptial agreement to Greg's benefit? With regard to Cameron and Daphne - theirs is a strange dynamic. Clearly, they are grifters, and Ethan and Harper are their next 'mark' but again how do they get at Ethan's money? What interested me in this episode is that Cameron apparently doesn't have any ready money - he can't pay Lucia - yet Daphne went to the bank and booked the stay in Noto; possibly the plot was to isolate the suspicious and wary Harper from Ethan so Cameron could manipulate him by sharing a bond? Is Daphne the real brains behind this opportunistic pairing and Cameron's just the junior partner, which would explain why she buys Cameron's replacement wardrobe and why he was so angry his luggage was lost - he's not in control, Daphne is? I'm still not certain if Lucia is being entirely honest about her pimp, Allessio, pressuring her for money because she's had no contact with him until she and Albie are strolling by chance through the back streets; this guiding narrative by Lucia seems too obvious but the virgin Albie is still dazzled by his first sexual experience to notice. Perhaps Lucia will finally regret this deception because Albie will propose marriage and take her to L.A. - a much bigger prize - than just trying to extract payment from the son in place of the father's sudden rejection from a moral crisis? Where does all this end? And I think the clue is in the first few minutes of the first episode, after a single Daphne sets up an alibi with the new arrivals to the resort, while appearing very pleased with herself. And, Valentina is told by Rocco, minutes after Daphne's screaming, the dead bodies are guests at White Lotus - which guests - so not Quentin and Jack; Lucia and Mia were booked in by Albie's dad. It's a clever puzzle of an obvious exploitation triplet; who is the murderer and the murdered?
I thought Greg was the cowboy aswell 🤔 and thinking how would they plan to get Tanya's money, the next episode is called abductions. Maybe the nephew will abduct Portia and try to extort Tanya for portias return But Tanya is getting more confident and new perspective 🤔 last time that happened she left the "Healer" in Hawaii high and dry Is she going to do the same with Portia? The "bodies" are found in the water which could be related to the yacht going back to the hotel iunno lol
I thought Alessio was just a flame, I think the pimp story isn't exactly true and Lucia is trying to manipulate the situation in making Albie believe she's in real danger and she is being exploited by a man. I don't think this is the case. I think she has her eye on a higher prize tho, and is trying to seduce Albie so they can be together. It'd make way more sense than just getting a few thousands out of it. She also had a scene with Mia and she did hinted that she had this plan in mind. She knows Albie is naive. I think tho she will genuinely fall for him In the end. This season seems to be really much all about manipulation, and mind games!
I just want to say I love the style in which you recap these shows, not just telling all the details that one may have missed, but also going on in discussing the more abstract as well. My new go to!
I think Lucia sincerely likes Albie and the possibility that she is setting him up a red herring. Prior to hanging out with him she told Mia she was tired of hooker life - just as Mia was embracing it to a degree. Lucia told Mia that Albie was sweet & innocent, and perhaps there won't be a bad ending for a hooker after all. That could mean that she sees him as a great catch (wealthy, Standford grad, handsome) and his kindness will make him someone who will accept her hooker past, especially if he has a "savior" complex, which he does. I got the feeling she charged him after their first full night in part to protect herself emotionally bc she is falling for him, and also as the way to control how he finds out she's a prostitute - vs hearing it from his dad or Bert. I agree with others that the angry Italian guy could be a prop to make Albie believe she's a victim vs willingly hooking. I'm rooting for her and Albie! Lucia, unlike Portia, has had her full of "bad guys." She wants a good guy and a better life. She appreciates him and he needs a strong, assertive woman like her or he'd never get laid! lol
I’m from Italy. In one of the previous episodes the gipsy lady clearly told Tonya “La tua pazzia ti portera’ al suicidio”, “your craziness will take you to suicide”. I’m afraid that’s what is gonna happen to her at the end.
@@karmaklutz I would love for this to be true and Tanya almost be the curse of the international White Lotuses with people dropping like flies as she travels to a different one each season haha
@@devibal4627 without Jennifer Coolidge aka J-Cool, the show just wld not be the same without her! She is the original main reason I chose to watch this show in the 1st place! I absolutely love her! And Mike White from School of Rock is the director/writer?! Fuckin crazy
When Quentin and Tanya were chatting before bed be spoke of a cowboy he fell in love with. It was a broke back mountain type story where he said he’s still in love with him. There is some talk online that man could be Greg and he could be working with the gays some how
My thoughts exactly! I believe in the 1st season they say that Greg is from Texas. Jack is a escort hired in the last moment as Hubby did not expect that she will bring Portia so they had to find her something to do instead of being with Tanya all the time - I have found his reaction in the episode 1 to Portia a bit too strong.
So after sleeping on it, a good alternate title for this episode is MARKS. I'm slowly realizing that most of these interactions are premeditated. Almost like textbook gangstalking. Nothing is organic. Tanya was set up by her husband, she didn't meet those men by chance. And once they realized she brought her assistant Portia along, they got Jack to love bomb her. Ethan and his wife were set up by their friends as well. They are the marks. Dominic made his son a mark, by bringing the prearranged prostitutes into the fold. Poor innocent Albie😞 Nobody can be trusted. This show will make you lose faith in humanity.
Exactly well said. Nobody can be trusted . So sad on one hand but so thrilling on the other… I agree this episode was very good but I have really been enjoying this season. I liked season one , I love season 2 so far.
It is common in any heavily Tourist place that the local economy is heavily supported by tourist funds, Tourist traps and scammers taking advantage of rich tourists looking for a "magical time" form a symbiotic relationship to fabricate the best vacation experience. The guests are looking for an emotional reward and the hospitality industry locals are working for a financial one.
This is a really good theory! I did get a skeevy vibe from those men that targeted Tanya. Is Jack even the guy's nephew? That end scene was shocking. I kind of got a sugar baby vibe from him but maybe he got roped into distract Portia from whatever scheme his "uncle" is in on.
Great review! It seems confirmed that Dominic is lying to Tanya and the logical reason why is he's a grifter. I bet he is renting the palazzo, he's tied up with Greg and is his boyfriend (most gay guys will still mess around - Jack their boy toy while Greg has been off married to Tanya) and their plan is to drive Tanya to suicide or push her off the cliff & stage it as a suicide. Greg would then inherit Tanya's fortune. Portia said Tanya's father had "owned half of San Francisco." So the gay grifter guys may have known of her from there and been targeting her since Season 1. Dominic was insistent they go see Madame Butterfly in Palermo - a play where the heroine commits suicide in the end when her husband wants to leave her. There must be significance to this plot story of the play. I do think Tanya will survive as fans love her and instead Dominic and/or Greg will get tossed over the cliff instead. Last, if Cameron ends up being one of the dead bodies I'd bet it was Daphne who did it. She has been tolerant of his cheating but even she will have a limit and crack. Maybe she learns he hooked up with a prostitute, is bisexual and hooking up w men, too, she catches him making a move on Harper, AND he's broke. She may have chatted up the 2 young women on the beach in part to create an alibi and in part because she truly is happy to be free of Cameron and now she will get an inheritance / life insurance payoff due to his death. Great season with SO many possibilities.
And she loves the show where husbands amd wives are killing each other, like scuba diving accident set ups that she mentioned in ep 1. The sicilian porcelain head is a myth where the woman kills her man that is a cheater. Although he is broke, I guess there is no inheritance but insurance yes.
This episode was my favorite too, really strong. I have a feeling Lucia is gonna be one of the corpses, after all she did say "hookers always end up getting punished" I feel like that was foreshadowing
I agree Lucia is setting up albie, I don't belive alesso is her "pimp" rather her friend who she got to act as her pimp hence why she took albie to that specific place
@@BrainPilot what’s weird is she opened up to Mia about quitting the escort game. Hooks up with him and then all of a sudden starts playing this game with him?
Forgive me but, I think Tanya has been cleverly written to be a genuine idiot and a tremendously annoying character that audiences loathe - but can't stop talking about. To me, she's an unfolding train wreck about to meet her commuppence. What she did in episode 1 to the spa lady, was to me, unforgivable, and how she treats her assistant in S2? It's time for the gay lords to teach her some "Italian".... "it's time she swims with the fishes".... hahahahah... thanks for your comment. Until E6... we shall see
I don't think there's anything random in White Lotus. For instance, the mention of The Godfather in episode 3 and the visit by the Di Grasso men to the place where first wife Apollonia was murdered. If there's a corollary, I think it might be Lucia who ends up dead.
yeah i read into that as well. it was probably Quentin on the phone with Greg in a prior episode. I think Greg wants out and knew he could call on his “friend” who would probably still do anything for him.
Omg, this sounds exacly right! What is your IQ, 300? So sad I now know it, and it will not surprise me. So they will kill her and maybe Portia too. I thing the foot in the opening scene was a foot of a young woman. There were several bodies, maybe 2. I felt that Quentin is after Tanya for some money reason but this is perfect, they have planned it long ago as a romantic time together, Greg is so tense all the way and insisted Portia be back to US, which was a very child behaviour. His job is such a silly reason to get back to US and than again back to Sicily. Jack looks like a professional escort, doesn't care whom to sleep with. The rotten apple. All is as you say.
A few episodes back, greg was on the phone in the restroom and mentioned Tanya being "clueless as always". In this episode, she asks Portia if she thought she was oblivious...I suspect Greg is the cowboy and has been plotting to inherit her fortune.
Portia and albi ever had a connection? Albi is so busy performing a version of a nice guy that he thinks women want, he’s incapable of having a genuine connection with anyone because he can’t even be authentic himself. When he’s condemning the godfather he keeps peaking at Portia for encouragement and when he’s arguing with dom or Bert it’s only to be performative about how NOT like them Albi considers himself to be.
I don't think the connection between Alby and Lucia is genuine I think she's definitely in for his money, she said herself to her friend "he's a good man and he's rich" something like that, she knows he's an easy target
Yup! She’s just now realized he’s easy to manipulate. Him being good hearted and genuinely kind. Poor guy doesn’t even seem it coming 😢 She’s probably going to find a way to America thru him.
I think I heard that some older gay men with boy toys introduce them as their "nephew" when they are around new people unfamiliar with their arrangement. Everything about Jack starting to make sense.
@@ALROD well, if this is true to life, absolute narcissists like Tanya know exactly what is happening around them and are a million steps ahead of everyone else. They are like cockroaches, they'll suck the life out of the situation and they have been through these scenarios too many times before. She'll likely be the only one leaving on top 😂
I think Daphne showing Harper the picture of her kids was a subtle way of saying “I know our husbands cheat, but cut the crap and play it cool because I have a marriage with children”. Kindly telling her don’t blow this out of proportion I like my life. Perhaps Daphne is the most cunning of all, because she comes across as a surface level person, but at the end of the day she gets the life she wants. She knows her hubby cheats on her and is okay with it, but I DOUBT Cameron knows his wife cheats too 😆
Theory Time: In Harper and Ethan's relationship, I see Harper as the more extroverted dominant while Ethan as introverted submissive. They represent the more unique progressive dynamic of 'Strong Woman and Supportive Man" as opposed to the conservative misogynistic dynamic between Cameron and Daphne, where the husband dictates and cheats and the wife rationalizes to save her sanity and face. Despite the dudes being paired and the wives being paired, This is really Cameron vs Harper. Cameron attacked first by taking advantage by peer pressuring her husband. She's going to have Cameron try to seduce her to expose publicly to his wife's face and Ethan, what a scum bag he is.
disagree especially since Ethan is like, the richest one out of all of them. Maybe that dynamic is the case socially, but definitely not financially, which is important to remember. Also, Ethan knows he's a scumbag and Daphne knows he's cheating on her, why would she need to expose him? Tbh I think she might try and sleep with Cameron to get back at Ethan for "cheating" that night... or maybe she and Daphne will murder their husbands LOL who knows
Yeah Harper was super emotional the last couple of eps but, she is an attorney and usually fight against guys like Cameron in court. It seems like she wants to hook up with Cameron to me but, she could’ve switched up after Daphne showed her that her kids belongs to the trainer.
Second to this, the youngest child had brown hair, which makes me think that he is Cameron’s child. That plus the story about Cameron being there for the C-section. I know he would’ve been there regardless, but the fact it was mentioned it was specially her last birth that was so traumatic makes me think the kids have different fathers.
Shots - scenes like that keep me in the category of "simpleton". After reading the threads posted here, now I'm catching on.... like... Ooooooohh, right... and thank you for that one. Gets me thinking of my own life, ex-wife, and my estranged kids - that look 100% like me by the way - poor kids. :) Hmmmm? I think I just discovered who the floaters are in the last episode. Hahahah - cheers
For some reason I think Portia isn’t gonna believe Tanya about what she saw and think that she’s trying to sabotage her relationship because her own husband left her. That may get her into trouble and end up being one of the bodies. Albie is getting played for sure, Lucia called him innocent and rich. She mentioned in an earlier ep she wanted to go to America. Mia seems like she’s the one that’s gonna die too. She’s playing with peoples emotions to get what she wants. Ethan is one of the most soft minded millionaires I’ve ever seen. I thought big Fortune 500 CEOs were sharks. I don’t think him and Harper are gonna work out in the long run. She’s too judgmental, superiority complex, passive aggressive, and much more. She’s acting rash and might do something stupid that causes Ethan to lose it. Daphne is a victim but at least she found some peace with her trainer and we know she’s alive at the end. Lol Greg and Tanya is prob gonna be the biggest surprise at the end. I don’t trust him.
I really like this show! When I tell someone about it I can never explain what the show is about. The best way I can explain it is what Harper said in the first episode. Rich ppl being rich so long that their minds atrophy. The entire cast are stereotypes of the rich or wealthy.
I feel the grandpa will be die in his sleep naturally. It's a trick shot to the multi murder idea. Whose in the ocean I'm still not sure about. And maybe Alfie and Lucia may get killed for the money issue to. Or Alfie is one in Ocean cause of her debt
But there's no money problems, since the first episode Lucia appears as a self employed hooker. Alessio seems more like an obsessed ex boyfriend and she's using him in her advantage to make Albie worried for her and leave her past behind to move to Los Angeles with him.
In S1, the character who died went through a strong inner change (in his case, Armond quit caring about his professional image and just went on to do whatever insane things he wanted and not give a f - egg. pooping in Shane's bag). It was not a positive inner change, but it was a strong change. Everyone else remained exactly as they were, in their old patterns. Tanya was close to a path of healing with Belinda and their common project, but last minute was (IMO) scammed by Greg to pay for his hospital bills. So she is still alive. If S2 follows this line, I am sure Dominic will die, because he is definitely changing, trying hard to be better, heal from the toxic masculinity he says he learned from his father. I also feel that Quentin will die when he realises that Greg (his American cowboy, the straight guy he fell in love with 30+ years ago and would do anything for) only used him to scam Tanya and take her out, so Greg gets rid of her and inherits her money (he said it himself, he would get nothing from divorcing her due to their pre-nup). My guess is Quentin will commit suicide. I also think Albie will reveal his toxic side, which he got from this father and grandfather. He says he will never be like Dominic, but he is starting to: he believes that, by being the "nice guy", Portia SHOULD be with him. His comment about liking "wounded birds" was a MAJOR RED FLAG. He is also sleeping with the exact woman his father slept with; Dominic is noticing this and feels impotent and frustrated to see that his son will continue the cycle of his family's toxic masculinity.
Whenever I see Dominic, I think of a cigarette that's been left in an ashtray and burned down, so it's just a column of ash. That's what he looks like to me.
Greg is definitely the cowboy. Daphne’s kids are definitely fathered by her trainer. Albie is definitely being groomed as a potential way out for the hooker. Tanya is definitely a mark, but I believe she will survive their plan and perhaps never know their true intentions.
I took the conversation between Daphne and Harper to mean that Daphne was telling Harper that she tolerates Cameron’s bulls**t because she doesn’t want to tear her family apart. I don’t think the trainer actually exists. She showed Harper the wrong photo on purpose. And her telling Harper to “get a trainer” was telling her to have a child so that it would be easier to stay with Ethan if he does turn out to be like Cameron. I think that during the whole conversation, “trainer” was code for “child”. Daphne overlooks her husbands infidelity because she wants to maintain her domestic bliss and is telling Harper to do the same by having a child.
I'm wondering about Alessio. Lucia waves to Alessio in episode 1 in the first 7 minutes. The interaction doesn't seem like a pimp/escort so I'm vaguely thinking Lucia is good at what she does and is manipulating Albie for his money by pretending she's in imminent danger. Of course, we'll find out tomorrow if this is true.
This is such a good series! I thought that Daphne was going to try to come on to Harper when they were in Noto. Ethan and Cameron are such opposites I can’t believe their friendship is real. Obviously Cameron and daphne have ulterior motives. As much as Tanya gets on my nerves I do feel for her being so oblivious and trusting. Albie is so innocent and Portia choosing jack was predictable. It’s so convenient how jack turned up at the pool when she was at the pool. I think Lucia is manipulating Albie, and he’s going to end up wanting to save her. I feel for Valentina. She seems so lonely. It might be a positive thing if she and Mia get together.
In my opinion, what Valentina is beginning to experience isn’t too far off from what Albie is going through. There’s a lot of evidence to support that she has been lonely her entire life, and she shared that same innocence Albie has. It’s possible that Mia is using Valentina’s innocence to jumpstart her career as a singer/musician, in the same way Lucia is exploiting Albie’s innocence. We’ve seen in an earlier episode that Valentina was feeding cats, as well as the fact that she was generally hostile to everyone except the receptionist lady who gave her praise, which I believe is more than enough evidence to support that she is a lonely woman.
@@somewillhateme agree that Mia is most likely exploiting her, but it’s wishful thinking she could have a relationship and change her lifestyle with Lucia. I think Albie and Portia was cute together, but she just wants to hit it and quit it
I don’t know but I don’t think Daphne has it in her. She’s all talk to me. Of course anyone can change or snap at any moment but I dont think Daphne has it in her. I don’t think the trainer is real , I don’t believe Daphne cheats back on Cameron and I don’t think she kills Cameron ( if he is in fact dead or is one of the bodies ) she’s just not convincing to me. But that’s just my opinion
I think we are missing lots of clues in the opening title sequence. See the burning building on the cliffs? I'm expecting we see the (likely rented) villa in Palermo go up in smoke. And I have a hunch that Lucia takes them all down--her pimp dives in to get what is owed by Cameron and Albie, and that leads to mayhem. Other side wagers are on Ethan being gay and possibly having had prior relations with Cameron back in college. So much intrigue! Great show.
Luv your recap, it is spot on‼️ I pray that Tanya’s cheating husband didn’t pay the Palermo gays to abduct, then push her off the cliff, so Greg could inherit her millions. i hope Portia’s common sense kicks in, she keeps a sharp eye on her boss & they get the hell off that island. 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
Wow... thank you for this clarity. I'm a slow learner but once I catch on... personally, I'm not fond of Tanya. Not in S1, not in this, S2. It's time to write her character out so there's zero hope she returns for S3... hahahahahah. Just say the word, I'll push her. Until E6... the plot thickens
Thanks for your summary. I'm 66 and since binge watching the first season, now watching weekly, eagerly awaiting Sunday evening at 9:00 p.m. to catch the latest episode - just like I was when I was..... much younger - waiting to watch what will happen to Batman and Robin each week... of all the plot lines, I wait to see what Aubrey Plaza's character is up to. Weird? Perhaps. But I think it will be her characters behaviour that will inevitably lead to at least one of the two "floaters". We shall all see in time. Stay tuned my fine "white lotus" aficianados... all hail Mike White :) Thanks for this BrainPilot. And thanks to all who have put in their euro's worth, and what was said in Italian. Ciao Ciao...
Always enjoy the videos. I also think it will be either Tanya, set up by Quentin’s one true love, Greg, to get Tanya’s $ and/or kill her like the wealthy woman in the story Quentin told/M Butterfly/the rotting apple, or one of the prostitute girls will die as a result of their schemes. I did see an interview with some cast and they say you’ll never guess it so who knows if Tanya getting whacked is too obvious. It was always weird that a Jack was in that group so he’s probably hired and no nephew. It’s an interesting show, much, much better than season 1, but deeply depressing. Anyone good gets trampled and there is nothing but misery for all. 😩
Daphne clearly doesn’t have a “trainer”, she has her kids. The trainer she describes fits the image of her child and having kids keeps you active. She was saying “if you want to save your marriage, have kids because you will love them more and they’ll provide you comfort.”
I’m concerned for Tanya and Portia. Between the reading from the tarot reader (I’m Italian so I caught what she said) “La tua pazzia ti porterà al suicidio”, the mention of the devil and the Essex guy coincidentally having “666” tattooed on him in Roman numerals, then the plot of Madame Butterfly (the opera they watched together) which also coincidentally is about a woman who’s husband is having an affair, leaves her and comes back with his new wife resulting in the suicide of Butterfly, then the title of the song “io ti ruberò” (meaning “I will rob/steal from you) playing when she’s with the supposed nice gays… etc etc Makes me very concerned for their respective endings 😬
i thought Daphne showing Harper the photos of her kids was a “please don’t sleep with the father of my children just to get back at your husband” kind of move
I think Lucia is setting up Albie. The guy who is supposedly her pimp, looks like a guy that Lucia waved at in the first episode when she and Mia were walking to see the boat. Quentin seems wealthy with the villa and the Yacht but he also looks like a suspicious character.
I’m probably completely off but could Greg be the cowboy that Quinton alluded was his only love and he’s in on the ploy to kill Tanya for her life insurance. He certainly swooped in quite quickly after he left.
Not sure why it's a rotten apple and not just an apple with a bite taken out of it, sort of like the apple Eve takes from the tree of knowledge. Which, you know, could be symbolic of Tanya being awakened to what is truly going on and leaving the "Garden of Eden", or her relative innocence.
Suspicious of Greg being the cowboy that Quentin mentioned got old. And that they’re in cahoots with each other. A plot to kill Tanya and take all her loots
I thought Daphne’s message was obvious.. she is presumably in the 1%, on a defendant vacation, has a home, and kids that she loves. She’s framed the cheating in a certain way. She might have some guys on the side, but that isn’t the message she was trying to convey In that scene.
In the end I feel that Portia and Albie realize they are right for each other and decide to make a go of it. As for the dead body if you go back several episodes Ethan and Cameron were playing Chicken on the jet skies..this time one or both are killed.
Having read inane explanations/predictions by prominent media- Your video was the first I could agree with. I share every bit of your analysis. In the first episode there is a discussion w/ the Cameron 4. It is regarding the murder of a spouse on vacation. Will it be Tanya? Ep-6 title, tells me it may be her husband kidnapped and his death up to her- for a price. Can’t wait to find out.
My money is on the bodies in the ocean being Cameron and Ethan. The trailer to this season showed them fighting in the ocean. Kinda obvious... but also would make sense! Especially with Daphne being alone on the beach without them when she was chatting up the two women on the beach
Hmmmm. Thank you for this. I think after reading all the comments and the twists and plot lines.... the two will be... Tanya and the hooker banging the father's son. Until E6... the plot thickens
Also the picture of the children surely has meaning, I think it's actually that the oldest child is the trainers son, that makes much more sense that what is said in the video.
Theory Time: She mentioned that her trainer has blond hair and blue eyes, and that she spends more time with him than Cameron. She said "you want to see a picture of him?" then she took her time to find a picture. She handed Harper a picture of her two kids, her oldest boy has blond hair and blue eyes while the baby has brown hair and eyes. Then when Harper mentioned that it was a picture of her kids she "is it?" and put her phone away mentioning that she should also get a trainer. Her oldest son is her trainer's child and Cameron is so "busy with work" that he hasn't even noticed.
The subtext you missed in The Daphne/Harper conversation was the threat. The “Whoopsie.” She meant to show the picture of the kid because trainer or not/ parentage unimportant, she’s telling Harper. “Don’t fuck my family up.”
It's possible that Quentin doesn't even own the Villa and is just renting it like Daphne did. The whole "i wouldn't rent it out" could be a lie. But if it's not, he can't afford to keep it that way.
I’m pretty sure Daphne was saying that one of the kids is her trainers and that she’s not the victim in the cheating game because Cameron has a kid that’s not his but thinks it is so she’s winning that battle lol
I think Portia will definitely be one of the dead bodies found in ocean. Not sure of the others yet. I found the scene between Albie and Portia in hallway sad too, but I don’t think they will cross paths again that seemed like the forever goodbye. They might have made a good couple but we will never know now lol. Have a nice life! 😅
They are rich but have money problems. Daphne loves to have a lavish lifestyle in an extreme way to get even with Cameron's constant infidelities. I mean the palazzo, her drunk online shoppings, she's been teasing since the beginning that she loves to spend money to get even with Cameron.
She would kill him if offered the chance, especially if he has money problems & big fat life insurence. My money is that one of the bodies will be him. A fitting homage to the reocurring sicilian legend.
I think they probably are starting to have money issues aswell as harper being a criminal lawyer and there are allegations against Cameron's company so I'm guessing that's why they invited them on this trip aswell as another rich couple to win over incase they are even in need of financial help
I think Daphne has had relationship with Cameron way before coming to Italy. Hence that tension at the restaurant and other times (like when both of them were in the bathroom getting ready for a swim). I think that's why Cameron's wife showed Daphne the photos of her kids.
I don’t think the Daphne trainer and kids scene was a hint. I think it was very obviously proof her kids are from her trainer. That’s why they have blonde hair and blue eyes.
I think Daphne might have shown the picture of her children to harper and mentioned getting a trainer because she picked up on Cameron's behaviour towards harper. It felt like a warning, like she saying to harper look if you're going to cheat don't do it with my husband, we have children, do it with someone else.
It was to my understanding after I watched it that daphne was alluding that she cheats on cameron with this trainer because cameron cheats on her. And I thought she showed the picture of her kids as a subtle hint that she loves the picture perfect image of a good family on the outside but on the inside it is not perfect, and in daphne and Cameron’s world that’s just marriage
The interpretation of Daphne and her children is really wrong. She doesn't work and has money for childcare, she has plenty of time for her side relationship with her trainer. Clearly the child looks like her description, and her reaction implied that she showed that photo to Harper on purpose. I also don't think that Daphne expressed real sadness in this scene at all. She's accepted her relationship with Cameron ages ago, doesn't see herself as a victim as she has stated, and even though she plays an airhead she shows Harper that she's just as calculating as her husband. I think they are definitely plotting against Tanya, but that she will come out unscathed in the end. She is definitely not the brightest but she found out about the "nephew" (and they don't know she knows), and she seems to have a sixth sense for when people are after her money. Also, Lucia is not actually into Albie at all. She knew that he was under the impression that she's not a sex worker, she called him rich and naive. She knows Dom wants to keep his arrangement with her a secret, and she wants to play the father and son against each other. The "pimp" was a staged confrontation, since she didn't mention owing anyone money for 4 whole episodes.
Hey dude! You should say spoilers before spoiling the plot in the beginning. I clicked on the episode 6 explained by accident and got it spoiled in 10 seconds haha nbd, love your vids! It was my fault, but just wanted to let ya know!
idk why i have a feeling that the cheating men will be the dead bodies at the end… it kinda makes sense because of what they talked about during the first episode i think? about the head of the cheating husband and how it was one of the statues in the hotel, i guess it’s kinda obvious. another theory i have is that maybe one of the dead bodies is one of the escorts, they said they would be “punished” so it could be foreshadowing
thanks for your comments... we shall see next week - E6. whatever and whomever it is, I'm hoping it's Tanya. Hahahahahah The cheating men will be punished the same way the Father is... banished to be unloved and lonely, for ever...
@@archeredutainment8453 yea you’re right!! also tanya is a good theory because of what the tarot lady said in italian “la pazzia ti porterà al suicidio” meaning she’ll go crazy and kill herself, idk if it could be foreshadowing
I think Mia is one that dies and that it will indirectly be Lucia’s fault or the consequence of falling under her influence (remember there are THREE bodies found at the beginning). Especially w the two of them referencing the idea that they may truly succeed this time, just as Mia’s set to really explore her career..seems like they’re setting up a tragic ending there. Sucks because I LOVE Mia’s character and her scenes are becoming my fav to watch.
3? I thought it was 2 in total. I'll re-watch that scene. I'm a fan of the show but... when it comes to women, love, and relationships, oye. :) Until E6, the plot thickens. Thanks for your comments. It makes sense Mia may become a "tragedy". ciao ciao
@@karmaklutz but I didn't see that, the last I saw was her walking down the hall way, and then, bang, show was over, so somehow I am missing the last few minutes of the episode 😞
@@nancyhoekman6706 "and BANG!" is the key word, pun intended!!! 😂 Damn , u missed out then. Bc I cant get the 2 guys outta my head now. Yeah, Quentin and his supposed "nephew" Jack were having anal sex, Jack giving it to Quentin and J-Cool aka Tanya spies on them and sees it and then goes back to her room silently, but shocked
Did anyone mention the part where Ethan and Cameron are in bard the day after and Cameron tells Ethan he wants to do stuff to him and then Ethan throws up…. I think that there’s some human trafficking theme in here definitely and Cameron and his wife are conning…
Something I haven't mentioned in any of my breakdowns but definitely should have by now... the opening title sequence for this show is something special! The visuals and audio sums up the mood and tone of the series to a T!
Been meaning to look into the imagery in the opening to see if there’s any clues!
Completely agree. That song is amazing and the wallpaper changing from s1 is spot on.
@@kerryanne5005 there are clues. There is an article I read that explained them all too
The opening theme is the cure to anxiety
General opinion on Reddit is Greg is the 'cowboy' and working with Quentin to get Tanya's money.
Makes sense especially with the story of him falling in love with the straight american from wyoming that he would still do anything for.
This season is 10x better than the first season. WAYYY better actors and script
Agreed. My thoughts exactly, you would have saved me a lot of typing if I'd read your post first.
@@heatherisobell 🤯
I’m betting it’s Greg on bad stuff. OF COURSE the dude is an “escort.” That hint was thrown out when he didn’t pay at the restaurant.
only thing I would say is that Daphne showed a picture of her kids (w/ blonde hair and big blue eyes) for a reason..... Pretty obvious those kids are more than likely the trainers. 😇
I completely agree with you‼️😱
If that’s the case, than, I could imagine Daphné mat be planning to kill Cameron, since she may know about his financial situation and you know, « you gotta do whatever you have to to get your revenge… and also, she may get a big life insurance policy…
I only saw one blonde kid... Thinking the other one is actually Cameron's.
Exactly
I understood the having a child was the answer for Harper to "keep" Ethan with her :( haha
@@Soborow agreed. The trainer being the father of the kids is a bit over the top and not really in the style of Mike White
@@Soborow this is my thought as well
This episode more or less confirmed what I had begun to suspect after seeing "Sandbox" when Quentin carefully manipulated Tanya in to joining his party at the beach club, after trying to catch her eye after the departure of her husband Greg.
Great insights!
I thought Greg was the cowboy aswell 🤔 and thinking how would they plan to get Tanya's money, the next episode is called abductions. Maybe the nephew will abduct Portia and try to extort Tanya for portias return
But Tanya is getting more confident and new perspective 🤔 last time that happened she left the "Healer" in Hawaii high and dry
Is she going to do the same with Portia?
The "bodies" are found in the water which could be related to the yacht going back to the hotel iunno lol
Wow. I love to read all the comments every time a new episode comes out . Great insights!
@@CihatPeker Me too, it is another portion of entertainment right after the episode
Totally thing Greg is "the cowboy" that Quentin was referring to!
Same, this episode was fire
She appreciates him and he needs a strong, assertive woman like her or he'd never get laid! lol
Totally agree 💯%
I’m from Italy. In one of the previous episodes the gipsy lady clearly told Tonya “La tua pazzia ti portera’ al suicidio”, “your craziness will take you to suicide”. I’m afraid that’s what is gonna happen to her at the end.

Bingo!
Exactly!
It has become obvious now, but the puzzle is: how do they get their money, and who ends up dead in those efforts?

Brown eyed parents cannot have blue eyed babies, it is rare.
This episode was my favorite too, really strong. I have a feeling Lucia is gonna be one of the corpses, after all she did say "hookers always end up getting punished" I feel like that was foreshadowing
I think Lucia is setting up Albie. I’m not sure for what but maybe she has something planned to use him to blackmail Dominic.
I hope not - as this is the most genuine she's seemed. But that's why I fear it.... as she's not really been genuine with anybody other than Mia!
Yes, I think so too, I think she's manipulation him into believing what he thinks her life is, she's taking advantage of him
I think she is genuinely liking Albie and he will bring her to America.
Tanya is not stupid like she comes across. She is being played right now but will come out ok. Greg will end up dead or arrested.
I want her to come out of this okay!
YES she's lived her whole life that way, it's like teaching granny to suck eggs so to speak. She will take take take and give nothing
Until E6... we shall see
@@archeredutainment8453 haha, she's an idiot, but has mastered the game, she will leave like nothing ever happened 😂
I don't think there's anything random in White Lotus. For instance, the mention of The Godfather in episode 3 and the visit by the Di Grasso men to the place where first wife Apollonia was murdered. If there's a corollary, I think it might be Lucia who ends up dead.
Good point
Is Greg the “cowboy” Quentin was telling Tanya about? He does work for the bureau of land management 🤔
Ohhh that's a good shout!
Oh my..
yeah i read into that as well. it was probably Quentin on the phone with Greg in a prior episode.
I think more than one persons gonna die. I mean, rocco said theres BODIES. Not just a body.
Currently watching the show for the first time, and I always love shows that have recaps by you! Thank you, brainpilot!
Ah thanks! Glad you enjoy the vids 😊
I think this is discrimination agains't sex workers
Lucia also has said ‘all whores are punished in the end’ so that may come back
I think I heard that some older gay men with boy toys introduce them as their "nephew" when they are around new people unfamiliar with their arrangement. Everything about Jack starting to make sense.
I think Tanya will do exactly what she did last time, stir the madness and watch it unfold. Then go home like nothing ever happened 😂
I hope so. I wouldn't like her to kill herself
She knows her hubby cheats on her and is okay with it, but I DOUBT Cameron knows his wife cheats too 😆
I think the kids are her trainers kids considering they are blonde with blue eyes, the same way she described the trainer
Theory Time:
In Harper and Ethan's relationship, I see Harper as the more extroverted dominant while Ethan as introverted submissive.
Nah Ethan is precious but he and harper are definitely not made for each other. They need to split.
Harper is not strategical about any of this, she is a hothead and wild card now. Cameron & Harper will be floaties I bet.
disagree especially since Ethan is like, the richest one out of all of them.
Having a spineless progressive beta as a husband is why Harper is sniffing around the more masculine man
Best episode yet, Simona Tabasco is wonderful and for me becoming the best actress in the series.
Dude, the Daphne thing was CLEARLY meant to show that her eldest child was the trainer’s and not Cameron. Like, obviously meant to be that.
Second to this, the youngest child had brown hair, which makes me think that he is Cameron’s child. That plus the story about Cameron being there for the C-section. I know he would’ve been there regardless, but the fact it was mentioned it was specially her last birth that was so traumatic makes me think the kids have different fathers.
it was sooo well writtennn.... my favorite scene
yeah she said big blue eyes and that kid was like (🌐👄🌐)
Shots - scenes like that keep me in the category of "simpleton".
Lol
Greg and Tanya is prob gonna be the biggest surprise at the end. I don’t trust him.
Definitely! I rembember the gipsy said the Greg was a thread or something like that, and then Tanya throw her out.
I love this freaking show, everyone is soo damn good in it. HBO casting is so on point!
I really like this show! When I tell someone about it I can never explain what the show is about. The best way I can explain it is what Harper said in the first episode. Rich ppl being rich so long that their minds atrophy. The entire cast are stereotypes of the rich or wealthy.
I described it to be a show about rich people problems to my friend 😂
I feel the grandpa will be die in his sleep naturally. It's a trick shot to the multi murder idea. Whose in the ocean I'm still not sure about. And maybe Alfie and Lucia may get killed for the money issue to. Or Alfie is one in Ocean cause of her debt
But there's no money problems, since the first episode Lucia appears as a self employed hooker. Alessio seems more like an obsessed ex boyfriend and she's using him in her advantage to make Albie worried for her and leave her past behind to move to Los Angeles with him.
Albie*. Yeah agree that not all tragedies were unnatural ie. Grandpa!
Harper will take revenge from ethan, by sleeping with Cameron, and ethan will take revenge by sleeping with daphne
nice insight. Initially, I thought the child with blue eyes is the child of Daphne with the trainer
@@farmgirl768 I think this is it and I also think the main comment is correct as well
I'm wondering about Alessio.
I took her showing the baby pictures as her saying the babies are not his but rather the trainer's, the ultimate "revenge."
I also think that there's a possibility that Dominic will kill Lucia, because she is a threat to his family
That would be a big twist!
Was thinking that as well!
nah, he's too big of a dweeb to do that
Not him, my bet is that grandfather will do that
@@vanai2359 I think she'd be able to take him on in a fight. Hell he keeps falling down on his own anyway
Great show.
I find Portia annoying as she has this awkward Lena Dunham sort of vibe!
lmfao
It's actually pronounced Lena Dunkums
Lena Dunham is great. But yes a bit
Luv your recap, it is spot on‼️
I pray that Tanya’s cheating husband didn’t pay the Palermo gays to abduct, then push her off the cliff, so Greg could inherit her millions.
i hope Portia’s common sense kicks in, she keeps a sharp eye on her boss & they get the hell off that island. 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
Wow... thank you for this clarity. I'm a slow learner but once I catch on... personally, I'm not fond of Tanya. Not in S1, not in this, S2. It's time to write her character out so there's zero hope she returns for S3... hahahahahah. Just say the word, I'll push her. Until E6... the plot thickens
By far my favorite episode and i loved how everyone was getting character development
Totally agree - the even screen time was definitely needed!
The “trainer” was her showing she had a kid with said trainer! Her eldest child favors the description.
Glad you enjoyed the videos! Something special about weekly releases... allows for that excitement through the week
Between the reading from the tarot reader (I’m Italian so I caught what she said) “La tua pazzia ti porterà al suicidio”, the mention of the devil and the Essex guy coincidentally having “666” tattooed on him in Roman numerals, then the plot of Madame Butterfly (the opera they watched together) which also coincidentally is about a woman who’s husband is having an affair, leaves her and comes back with his new wife resulting in the suicide of Butterfly, then the title of the song “io ti ruberò” (meaning “I will rob/steal from you) playing when she’s with the supposed nice gays… etc etc
Makes me very concerned for their respective endings 😬
i thought Daphne showing Harper the photos of her kids was a “please don’t sleep with the father of my children just to get back at your husband” kind of move
I’m thinking that her trainer is the actual father of the baby!
If that's the case then that makes that moment 1000000x better!
@@saraandersson8889 exactly what I thought
Not at all. It was implying that the trainer was the dad of the kids because she almost never see Cameron because he, “ works so much “
Wow.... never thought of that one. Very insightful. Until E6. The plot thickens
This!!
When I first saw Jack I told my daughter he’s definitely gay for pay. I was not wrong. But still 🤯🤯🤯 I do agree Greg is beyond this…
I thought Daphne’s message was obvious.. she is presumably in the 1%, on a defendant vacation, has a home, and kids that she loves.
Who do y’all think are the 3 bodies in the water at the beginning scene ?
Theory Time: She mentioned that her trainer has blond hair and blue eyes, and that she spends more time with him than Cameron. She said "you want to see a picture of him?" then she took her time to find a picture. She handed Harper a picture of her two kids, her oldest boy has blond hair and blue eyes while the baby has brown hair and eyes. Then when Harper mentioned that it was a picture of her kids she "is it?" and put her phone away mentioning that she should also get a trainer. Her oldest son is her trainer's child and Cameron is so "busy with work" that he hasn't even noticed.
Those were my exact thoughts
you just blew my mind
The subtext you missed in The Daphne/Harper conversation was the threat. The “Whoopsie.” She meant to show the picture of the kid because trainer or not/ parentage unimportant, she’s telling Harper. “Don’t fuck my family up.”
Unlike most of the time when she seems oblivious, Daphne acted pretty menacing in that scene (kudos to Meghann Fahy playing her).
LOL, I did not trust that sleazemeister Jack from the first second...be careful Portia!
I think Quentin is trying steal money from Tanya as well Cameron is trying from Ethan.
Definitely seems like that doesn’t it!
I don't think cameron and daphnee aren't rich, I think its more evidence of entitlement.
Cameron’s wife is Daphne…I think you mean Harper
daphne showed a pic of her kid when describing her trainer because the kid is the trainer's (it matches the physical description she gives), no?
Re Isabella and Valentina- I strongly suspect Isabella wants Valentina’s job. I currently think Isabella is the one in the water.
Now that would be a HUGE twist!
Portia for the streets
I don’t think the Daphne trainer and kids scene was a hint. I think it was very obviously proof her kids are from her trainer. That’s why they have blonde hair and blue eyes.
I think Daphne might have shown the picture of her children to harper and mentioned getting a trainer because she picked up on Cameron's behaviour towards harper. It felt like a warning, like she saying to harper look if you're going to cheat don't do it with my husband, we have children, do it with someone else.
Oooh this was so spot on!!
Glad you agreed!
Valentina's character is so funny
can not wait for harper to implode, can not wait
I can't wait to see which white lotus they go to next
Maybe Africa
True! Good to see a season 3 is on the cards!
In jamaica we would say that Daphne gave Cameron a jacket. Those children are not his
There wasn't only one dead body
Remember Rocco said there were more dead bodies in the hotel
I think Albie is one of them
idk why i have a feeling that the cheating men will be the dead bodies at the end… it kinda makes sense because of what they talked about during the first episode i think? about the head of the cheating husband and how it was one of the statues in the hotel, i guess it’s kinda obvious. another theory i have is that maybe one of the dead bodies is one of the escorts, they said they would be “punished” so it could be foreshadowing
thanks for your comments... we shall see next week - E6. whatever and whomever it is, I'm hoping it's Tanya.
It makes sense Mia may become a "tragedy". ciao ciao
Ethan is best boi anyway
I think Ethan is secretly gay, and his buddy knows it and is hanging it over his head.
better than season 1.. certainly darker
