Awesome! I just did similar upgrades to my 2230, I had good luck with wima film and vitamin Q pio caps. This receivers are really great when you do all the work like this.
Thanks!! : ) I got a great batch of more sky blue LEDs, the camera dosent pick it up entirely accurately, but I like them! Ive seen those purple ones, and even to my colour blind eyes, they look bizarre. Although, now that there has been a mass production of cheap supplies on Ebay, I may buy those, and modify them to get a better colour. Happy listening!!
Hey, Ill look into it. Its a bit complicted to get semiconductors right now. And the parts that I used 7 years ago have been updated. Theyre OnSemi. You have to be careful when replacing them, and will likely require additional mods.

Hi Ed, thanks for the reply. I do not have one for sale at the moment, it certainly is a keeper! I do have an upgraded Sansui 9090db, which is a very simillar constructed receiver. Good luck with your search and Ill let you know if I come across one. Thanks and best! Mike
i have a 2330b that needs tlc which one is better in your opinion ? im selling my rogue audio tube gear. rogue 90 amp and rougue 66 magnum preamp to get a 2325 or should i have my 2330 gone through ?
Im a little less familiar with the 2330B. I generally like the older series that the 2325 is a part of, this is simply my personal preference in terms of sonic characteristics and visual aesthetics. There are some technical improvements in components from the generation of the 2325 (2230, 2270, etc..) as oppose to that of the 2330B series (Like the 2252B, 2265B, etc..). That being said, there are some aspects to the older series that are more expensive to manufacture which I like, for example, the older radiators and transformers seem to be built from more expensive materials in the older series.
Mike Is there a reason why you chose a superb audio grade cap such as the Fine Gold series in the power supply board instead of a power supply cap such as pan. FM??..thanks..Gale
Hi Gale and thanks for the comment. I do not have a short answer for you, so I may get back to you on this. In a nut shell, I selected these based on the specs and manufacturer's suggestion as the best components available to minimize noise and optimize audio quality in the signal path, voltage/current supplies as well as for all filters
Hey Mike.....I live in Fairbanks, Alaska. I have one and it's popping on and off a lot and would like to get a recap and restore and basically a tune up. What's the cost?
Hi Jim, Im mostly booked up for the next 6 months. For something that, I have a few things Id have to troubleshoot first. If you are still interested towards January, please shoot me a message and Ill give you a ballpark estimate. Thanks and best! Mike
Hey! Sorry for the delayed response. I am located in Montreal, Canada. The price would depend on how far you would want to go with the restoration and what the current condition is. If you are located close enough or interested in shipping it to me, let me know and Ill provide you with more details. Thanks and best! Mike
On Semi parts are a great upgrade for the Marantz amplifiers as well as some others like Adcom GFA series. Here's a 2325 I just got done refurbing for a customer. ua-cam.com/video/W62nS81AnyM/v-deo.html
i just got a 2325 it seems fine. some one told me not to change out any of the older components because it wont sound like a Marantz any more if i do. whats your thoughts on this advice? i was under the impression that it would be better to upgrade everything to new before something goes wrong especially since it's over 40 years old.
If anything, at 40+ years of age, your Marantz no longer sounds like a Marantz did when it was new. Yes, the sound will change, but it will revert to sounding as it did when it was new.
In general, most components that I change are direct replacements with better specs than the originals. It takes many of the specs of the original unit and brings it to a slightly higher tolerance at best. There are some components like op amps that are absolutely worth changing on many of these vintage receivers, these can require some minor adjustments to be properly integrated. The idea again is that there are modern electronic components designed specific for hifi audio applications. The engineers at the time with a high enough budget would have used these parts. Despite all of the swapped components, the topology of the circuit remains the same and retains the original sonic characteristics, which can be enjoyed with slightly less noise, distortion, and, with careful semi-conductor replacement, enhanced linearity, slew rate, stability and many more measurable values
I would be interested in speaking with you about this. I have a 2325 since it was new and recently had it cleaned up some but would certainly like to find out how much it would cost to redo mine. I am in Nashville Tn.

Great job for finding a reasonably close colour match to the original aqua tuner lights. I can't stand the purply blue LEDs people often drop in.

Hi Vic, I do have 1, Id be open to offers!
So in this example of this rebuild; what was the final cost ???
I would estimate about 400CAD$ in parts, and easily 40-+ hours of labor time
