Great video! It truly helped me bite the bullet and purchase a portable washer in anticipation of a second wave this winter in my city. Thanks! Glad it was helpful! Someone else mentioned the Magic Chef dryer. I need to look into that to see if I want to purchase a dryer as well. How is the dryer?? Thanks!
Your video was very well done. I purchased the Magic Chef version of this washer for my Airbnb guestrooms, and the 2.0 version for the apartment. The parent company Midea sells their brand, and also makes the same washer for different brands such as RCA, Black & Decker, Magic Chef, Giantex and Panda. I love these washers, and use a spin dryer to extract excess water from each load. I purchased the Panda and Laundry Alternative spin dryers, and both spin up to 3200 rpm. One 5 minute spin can expel an additional 1.5 to 2 cups of water from a load of laundry. The drying time is greatly reduced with either air or heat dry. I do recommend using vinegar instead of traditional fabric softener during the rinse cycle. It will prevent gunk clogging up your washing machine or the material from dryer sheets covering heating sensors in dryers, and extend the fabric integrity of your laundry. I just ordered this same one last week, it arrives tomorrow but I was wondering; do we have to keep the water on trough the entire time? I saw you turn the faucet on but never off, where does the water go while it's not used if it stays on the whole time?
Your video is very useful with respect to set up. I would suggest to plus size people or people that have cold winters, etc. to go with the 1.6 cu ft instead of the .9 cu ft or you will be washing daily. If you have the hook up and space and the cash go with the largesr sizes, 1.6, 2.0, etc..
Thanks for the video! Quick question, are you experiencing leaking from the bottom? A lot of reviews say there’s leaking from underneath the machine so they opened the back and there’s a drain tube at the bottom that has nowhere to drain. Multiple ppl are showing videos of the water literally pouring out the tube onto the floor.
No problem! I didn’t experience leaking from the bottom! I did have a problem when the tube fell on the floor and hence a lot of water was then on the floor… smh

I don’t know if you are still reading the comments section, but I have a portable washer that looks like yours, but it’s branded as Midea 0.9 cu ft. Do you need to remove anything from the water inlet area? There is a blue thing with holes in it that I figured was supposed to stay in and open and close on it’s own as a valve but it won’t let water in, and I also cannot remove it. If yours is made the same way mine is, did you need to remove anything from the water inlet place in the machine?
Can you hook this up to the washer connection in the laundry room in the apartment. I found a connection that I THINK would work, but I haven’t seen anyone actuado it. I didn’t know if you could, and people just don’t, or if it isn’t recommend. If anyone knows please let me know.
I'm actually not sure. The washer is made to hook up to a faucet. Most people, including myself, hook it up to a sink. Perhaps, if you get the correct hose and adapter, it can.
Almost. I kept the faucet on until the last fill cycle. Once that finished, I turned off the faucet and let the washer continue through the final wash and spin cycles. In the Rapid program, which is 19 minutes, the washer does everything twice: (1) Fill, Wash, Drain, Spin (2) Fill, Wash, Drain, Spin. The washer only drains during the drain cycle IF you have the hose properly positioned, which is elevated above the washer.
@@DreaCee Thanks so much! This really helped. My husband and I bought this washer about a month ago but hadn't used it yet since we still had credit for our laundromat. I used it for the first time over the weekend. I got a couple loads washed. Absolutely love! Thanks for the helpful video!

@@DreaCee I've not got a tap though. it's for a shed area that has no water supply other than a water barrel. 😊 I'm getting one like this because the drum inside is a lot bigger for washing & spinning. saves the hassle on loads of washes.
I have a question i have the same one but is grey.. I wanted to know for the heavy load after u press start. Does your washer fills water and at the same time drains water also?????
No, it should not fill and drain at the same time. Check the height of your hose. If the hose is too low (not positioned above the washer), then it’s gonna drain when it should not drain.
There’s a curved hose you place in the sink. The drain hose has to be leveled above the washer. Otherwise water will drain the entire time and cause issues
HI Drae Cee. I just ordered that same washer for my little apartment. I am looking forward to it coming. I am curious how it has worked out for you thus far.
Between the wash and rinse cycles. How does it automatically fill itself? When do you turn off the faucet? When does it tell you to turn off the faucet and when does it tell you to turn it back on? Does it have a beep? Do you keep the faucet always turned on? How does it turn the water off from the faucet? Do you manually turn off the faucet? this is so confusing..
You leave the faucet turned on the whole time and machine will take water from it as needed. The machine has its own start/stop, so the water won't just be constantly flowing even with the faucet open the whole time.
So do you have to turn off the water once the washer is full? Then turn it on again for the rinse cycle? Or just turn off the water once it is completely finished?
Great review. I recently purchased one but mine makes a lot of noise when it spins. Does yours do that? The last time I out one sweater (kinda of thick) one pair of shorts and a shirt.
@@wonderfulcreationsla3062 lol I would read the reviews / comments on the site you purchased and see if anyone else mentioned loud noises. And the washer fills up based on whichever setting I select. I’m not manually filling up the washer
I wonder if we can connect the hose under the sink instead? That way no need to disconnect, connect, etc with every use. By the time I do all this, i might just handwash my items.
You're welcome! I'd recommend some help. I carried this up one flight of stairs alone. Although I was able to do so, I was exhausted haha. It's doable, but be prepared to take breaks while you are carrying it.
@@DreaCee Thank you, I'm getting this delivered on Monday. I'm hoping the carrier will bring it up the steps to my front door (my apartment building is designed similar to a motel, all unit entrances are private), but if not then hopefully I can carry it up.
@@DraciaNightcat Definitely recommend the carrier bring it to your door. If you can, I would add that to the notes for the delivery. Honestly, it’s a pain that not all delivery services deliver directly to the apartment door!
Asia Lewis Black and Decker says to use cold water only with this machine. In theory, you could turn on the hot water while filling up the machine. I haven’t tried that though. I’ve only used cold water.
There’s a hose that drains the water during the draining part of the cycles. You have to make sure the hose is elevated correctly so the water only drains during the proper cycle time.
Hi, did you have to manually turn the sink back on to fill again for the rinse cycle? If so, does the machine beep or notify you after the wash cycle so that you can turn your water back on?
You can leave the faucet on the whole time. The washer regulates when it starts bringing in water for the fill cycle. If you turn off the water, it’s obvious when it’s time to turn it back on
@@DreaCee thank you for answering! The hose isn’t connecting to the faucet and I don’t want to force it. Have you ever tried filling it manually? When I do and try to start a cycle the machine doesn’t do anything 😢
@@kggroup2264 no problem! Yes I did when I couldn’t figure out why water was coming from the drain pump (answer: I needed to elevate the drain pump higher). Once I filled it up enough, the washer automatically went to the wash cycle. Are you sure you filled it with enough water?
I need get one for my family beach house for next trip i go from Arizona to New Jersey our new washer havent been hook up cause there mind is waste plus i think it wrong kind may not hook up my uncle found double stack on side road ::( so this might save us money cheaper :)
I have a washer like that (different brand). Since I keep it in my shower, I just use the shower head (the kind you can remove and hold in your hand... can't remember what it's called) to fill up the washer to the water line, making sure that the drain hose is hooked in the up position so it doesn't drain the water out as I'm filling the tub of the washer. After I turn the washer on, I can just leave it. It shuts off automatically when the wash cycle is done. To drain, I just unhook the drain hose and the water drains into the shower. These are pretty nifty washers and very easy to operate. They have timers on them so you can choose a time you want for the wash and spin cycles.
Does it make noise like a regular washer machine?? I live in apartments and they don’t allow us to have washer nor dryer machines, the building has its own laundry room but I want to avoid the crowd and my apartment is in the third floor

If yours is made the same way mine is, did you need to remove anything from the water inlet place in the machine?
MusicLovingLady2006 Hi, I don’t have anything to remove in the water inlet area. The only thing I can remove inside the machine is the lint catcher.
I have this same question
I just ordered mine. I’ll do a trial and error, and prey I don’t break something in the process. I’ll let y’all know how it works, if it does!
Did you keep your faucet on the whole time until the wash was completely done? And does it continue to drain throughout the whole wash?
You're welcome! Glad this was helpful and thanks for watching! Let me know what you think as you continue to use the washer! I'm thinking of buying a mini dryer soon as well. We shall see!
do I need to use a tap or can I put water in manually with a jug? Thanks 😊
You should hook it up to the sink because that’s the whole purpose of it being automatic! But you can add manually if you want
@@DreaCee I've not got a tap though. it's for a shed area that has no water supply other than a water barrel. 😊 I'm getting one like this because the drum inside is a lot bigger for washing & spinning. saves the hassle on loads of washes.
@@onejreaper2420 oh got it! I understand. In that case, yes! When you fill it manually with enough water, it’ll start the wash cycle automatically
Thanks for this. One thing--did you discover that the rinse option is the NUMBER of rinses, not the minutes?
It's the number of rinse cycles!
Does the washer also spin dry i want this one but the one I have spins it mostly dry but this one looks like a better option?
It’s a spin cycle but it doesn’t spin it completely dry. Clothes will still be damp.
Great video. Is this large enough to wash one winter jacket/coat by itself?
Depending on how large the coat is, I think it could!
Is everything still working fine for you? As far as longevity?
Honestly I haven’t really been using this anymore BUT it does still work
Does the water drain by gravity or by hose curved up to the sink?
There’s a curved hose you place in the sink. The drain hose has to be leveled above the washer. Otherwise water will drain the entire time and cause issues
Yes great awesome washer portable good to have ..I have as well special this pandemic covid ..wash at home
Yes 100%. So great to have the ability to wash at home
Would this be capable of washing a king size fleece throw blanket? Or a twin sized Sherpa?
It's likely too small to fit a king size blanket. It can fit queen sheets tho.
So do you have to turn off the water once the washer is full? Then turn it on again for the rinse cycle? Or just turn off the water once it is completely finished?
No, it’s up to you. You can leave the faucet on the whole time. The washer is automatic and will do the functions in its own.
I just ordered this today been without a washer for years and I don’t drive ordered it off Wayfair
Same! I didn't have a washer in my apartment since I relocated. This is truly a game changer.
Well down video 5 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank youuuu 💕
Great review. I recently purchased one but mine makes a lot of noise when it spins. Does yours do that?
The last time I out one sweater (kinda of thick) one pair of shorts and a shirt.
Thanks! No, mine doesn’t make a tone noise. The noise is reasonable for a small washer! Maybe you should check nothing is wrong with the washer
I appreciate your response. How do I check if there’s anything wrong with the washer? I don’t really know about washers lol
Also, when I do laundry I don’t completely fill it up. How much do you fill it up to? 2/4 or 3/4ths?
@@wonderfulcreationsla3062 lol I would read the reviews / comments on the site you purchased and see if anyone else mentioned loud noises. And the washer fills up based on whichever setting I select. I’m not manually filling up the washer
@@DreaCee I appreciate your response 😁 Most definitely. Have a wonderful day.
Can you wash a bed cover in this unit?
No, but you can fit bed sheets.
I wonder if we can connect the hose under the sink instead? That way no need to disconnect, connect, etc with every use. By the time I do all this, i might just handwash my items.
This is definitely a lot simpler than hand washing... trust me.
thank you for the review! would you say it's possible for an average female to carry this up 3 flights of stairs alone?
Can you use hot water or warm with this machine also?
Asia Lewis Black and Decker says to use cold water only with this machine. In theory, you could turn on the hot water while filling up the machine. I haven’t tried that though. I’ve only used cold water.
Is the washer still holding up well?
Yes! But truthfully I don’t use it as often
Is the drain gravity based or is there a pump that drains the water?
There’s a hose that drains the water during the draining part of the cycles. You have to make sure the hose is elevated correctly so the water only drains during the proper cycle time.
Hi, did you have to manually turn the sink back on to fill again for the rinse cycle? If so, does the machine beep or notify you after the wash cycle so that you can turn your water back on?
You can leave the faucet on the whole time. The washer regulates when it starts bringing in water for the fill cycle. If you turn off the water, it’s obvious when it’s time to turn it back on
Thank you for the detailed instructions. The instructions that it came with barely had photos, so it was very frustrating to follow
No problem! Hope the video was helpful to set up and use!
How often do you have to keep turning the faucet on and off? Does the machine alert you?
You can leave it on the whole time or only turn it on during the fill cycles, which is usually twice depending on which option you select
Is this better than the magic chef ? Or which is better to buy?
Honestly not sure! I haven't looking into the magic chef.
Do you guys know where can I buy this black and decker machine ?
Isabella Amador Juarez You can purchase from Wayfair, Amazon, or Lowes
Do they make a little dryer too?
There are small dryers available too. I’m not sure if Black and Decker makes them, but there are other brands that do
They also have portable dryer.if you don't have one all ready.
Brigette Scott yes, I saw! Thanks! But wasn’t sure I wanted to invest in that too yet.
How do you put the bottom piece on the washer ? It’s so hard 😓
wow, ure a smart young lady. Cheers
Thanks!
Do you think this could handle a comforter?
No a comforter would be too large. It could handle queen sheets and a small blanket
Will this work with hot water as well?
The company doesn’t recommend hot water, but you can by turning on hot water instead.
On the second cycle can you put softener?
Emerald I’ve personally never done that, but perhaps you can. I haven’t read a ware specifically where it says that you cannot.
Can u fill the washer with water from a bucket if you don’t want to use the hose?
Yes you can, but you wouldn’t be using the full benefit of it being automatic like a regular washer.
No, Page 14 in Black and Decker Manual says that the Washer needs at Least 14 PSI to 70 PSI to for the ElectroncSensors to work correctly
Can we put jeans in? If so, do es the spin cycle dry most water?
Martha Flores yes, you can put in jeans but you’ll need a dryer or hang dry them. They’re still going to be wet.
I understand, thank you so much.
Martha Flores no problem!
Can you wash construction clothes on these portable washer machines?
Not sure honestly
I wonder how well this does with jeans and bulky heavy sweaters, towels and sheets?
And I wonder too how much electricity cost it adds...
The yellow label on the front of the machine says it costs about $3 a year in electricity to use it.
Can you use warm water or does it have to be cold
They recommend cold but you could technically make it want with your faucet
I know this video was uploaded last year so I was just wondering if you have a update on it?
Do you like it? Have you had any issues?
I haven’t had any issues! I have to admit, while it’s nice to have a mini washer, I do wish I can do larger loads at times
I need get one for my family beach house for next trip i go from Arizona to New Jersey our new washer havent been hook up cause there mind is waste plus i think it wrong kind may not hook up my uncle found double stack on side road ::( so this might save us money cheaper :)
I think it may be a good option! Definitely try :)
@@DreaCee thanks for help i sure will
Do you keep the water on the whole time?
No I turn it off when it’s non longer on the fill cycle. You can leave the water on if you want.
Does the adapter come with it?
For the sink? It depends on your faucet, whether the tube connects without needing an adapter
@@DreaCee yes!
can you wash large blankets?
Probably not
Question do you leave the water on during the whole time your washing
You can leave The faucet on, but I turn it off
Can we just fill the washer with water from a bucket or using a showerhead?
You shouldn’t do that since it’s automatic. You would have to try that out
I have a washer like that (different brand).
No, it's actually relatively quiet! It makes noise of course while it's running but not loud. The video is an accurate representation of how it sounds.
Drea Cee thank you so much for the info. Xoxo
Nancy SM no problem! You’re welcome
How to buy that machine because not yet ready in Indonesia 😥😥
Try Amazon or wayfair
Girl, you put enough detergent for a full load. I used to over poor all the time too lol.🤣
How much does it cost?
It was $300 but the price has decreased
👍
Did the delivery person put the machine inside your apartment? That's what's stopping me from ordering.
No, they left it in the lobby and I brought inside my apartment
How’s your water bill??
Mus&F I personally don’t pay for water. Also, don’t use this everyday. Overall, the washer claims you will have savings based on the energy sticker.
I Think She Lives In NYC, So People In NY Don't Have To Worry With Water Bills, Unless You Own Your Own Home, But In NYC, That's The Perk. OF Apartment Life In NYC, I Guess That's Why The Rent Is So Sooo High, I Live In NYC Myself
Did you get a dryer
Nope, never got a dryer!
so she has bought a new portable washer, why did she do that? why not a regular one ? , I am wondering ....
I don’t have the option to hook up a regular washer in my apartment.
If the water stays on during the whole time how does it not flood the sink or the pipes? THIS IS SO CONFUSING!!!!!
