    The crimps in the tubular are to ensure the inside bend doesn’t stretch the metal in the bending process.
    That way it doesn’t weaken the heat exchanger.

    Worth mentioning that the moisture that condenses out in a condensing heat exchanger is not necessarily from moisture in the air, it's a combustion product. A hydrocarbon fuel reacts with oxygen and produces CO2 from the carbon and H2O from the hydrogen. If a furnace burned hydrogen only and not a hydrocarbon like natural gas (or even worse, fuel oil which is so nasty even existing systems should be outlawed) then the only combustion product would be water (in vapor form until condensed out in the heat exchanger).
