I have a coworker with the same type spinal cord injury. This helped answer questions I wondered about. Thanks for sharing. Stay strong.

Thank you for sharing, my fiancé is a t 11 paraplegic, I'm learning all I can because I love him so much. We met over a year ago and he's been paralyzed for ten years after a car accident. He has a suprapubic catheter.

Hopefully! That is the aim of the channel, to be a resource for newly injured people that may have trouble figuring it out, and to inform others of the complications. Thanks for the comment

Great video! Do you have a feeling of knowing when you "need" to go or can you just go whenever in the day is convenient?

Great question! Yes I can feel when I need to go. I guess it's the same feeling as before I got injured. There are also less subtle signs that I need to go. When I'm asleep and my legs spasm a lot, it usually means I need to pee, then they calm down after.
There was a time when I felt I needed to go I could actually rub my belly and wee in a bottle. For some reason this has stopped working now. I tried for 45 minutes the other day and nothing came out.
As for poo, I can very rarely feel if I need to go, it's just down to routine.
Hope that helps you understand more.

@@FreddotheWheelchairGuy Can you still rub your belly, and pee in a bottle? Or will that cause your leg spasms to fire up?

@@grantkitson5344 Hey Grant, great question. I could, if I drank loads of water, but i wouldn’t be able to empty my bladder fully, and it’s time consuming. I do wee during my bowel routine, when pressing on my prostate. Hope this helps

Are you able to use your ab muscles to push when peeing or pooing?
