Venuella is such an insanely massive creature its fascinating how its able sustain itself as a carnivore and without drinking water. It is longer than a blue whale and is nearly as tall as diplodocus is long. I totally agree with it being an ambush predator, I doubt it ever moves in general since it produces its own water. Blurring the line between animal and plant Its lore mentions how it spends time near water so I don’t think it’d be entirely unreasonable to claim that it is largely aquatic, wading through water more often than it walks on land since the water can support its enormous bodymass. Sorta like what people used to think sauropods did. Flower Cove is a cove, so one could assume that in the lore it is probably a fairly marshy environment and also one with primarily salt water. That could explain why Venuella evolved to rely on metabolic water instead of drinking as it never leaves salt water and rarely ever moves. This would also explain the artists headcanon that Venuella reproduces asexually by firing out spines with embryos in them, that way it doesn’t have to travel long distances and can simply rely on the tides to carry its offspring far away.
