    My first Gravitron ride at age 3 is undoubtedly the event that kickstarted the process that led to my lifelong passion for physics

    never had a floor fall out on any I had at my country fair. HAD TONS WHERE THE COMMANDER IN THE MIDDLE POD JUST STOOD UP LIKE IT WAS NOTHING AND HELD CONTESTS! I imagine its as close as one mortal life can get to being in a simulation of a tornado without actually risking death.... mostly.

    14:14 - I would include fs and N in calculating the g-force, rather than just N. The way I understand g-force, is that it is the sum total of all the forces you can feel (i.e. excluding gravity), since those are the forces that your body has to support internally. So 2.7 would be the number of g's.

    so to solve a persons sleep in mental health issues can RPM not be calculated in the same pattern

    I was 5 or 6 and went on that thing with my dad, stepmom and my brother... I was scared when I see the floor start to drop. Everyone around me seemed just fine but I was so afraid I would fall to the floor, because whatever was holding me to that wall would let me go. Of course, did not help that the ride operator kept telling everyone to stay on the wall... keep yourself tightly against the wall.... I was so afraid I would fall that I just closed my eyes until it was over. I tried it again a few years later and I am not sure exactly what went wrong, but two people did fall from the wall.... we were still spinning and everything... about maybe 2 mins into the ride... I didn't think that possible once the ride was in full motion. When they dropped you could hear them hit the floor. The ride operator said something thru the speaker system and then I felt use start slowing and the floor started coming back up. So, I guess my question is... say you have 20 people in the ride... very from gender, height, and weight from 80 pounds to say 400 pounds... wouldn't you need to spin faster in order to hold up a 400 pound person compared to an 80 pound person?

      I that’s the great part about this ride. The minimum speed only depends on the coefficient of friction and gravity. The friction is probably about the same for everyone and so gravity is the same so everyone gets to have fun.

      Have you been on the gravertron before would it make me dizzy would I be able to stand because I have moblty issues wth the speed and the forces like in a big centrefuse

    What’s the difference in centripetal force vs centrifugal force and which one is it?

    • @AmonAmarthFan609
      @AmonAmarthFan609 8 місяців тому +1

      Centripetal force is the force that opposes an object’s linear inertia and pulls it back toward the center of rotation, forcing it to travel in a circular path (“centri”=center; “petal”=toward). Centrifugal force is centripetal’s equal-and-opposite (Newton’s third law). That is, it is the summation of the object’s inertia and the centripetal force fighting against eachother, which causes the object to experience a force radially outward from the center (“fugal”=fleeing). On the Gravitron, the force you feel of being pulled toward the wall is the fugal, and the force of the wall against your back is the petal.

      Most people dont know this, as permanent models are pretty rare nowadays (though not extinct). Nowadays they are mostly just a travelling carnival/county fair thing, as portable models have proven to be more economically efficient in the long run.

    Logically one could guess that 9.9m/s would be the minimum velocity required if 9.8m/s is gravity at rest, no acceleration
