Aww exciting love a wedding, would love to see some dress try ons 👍 i had a small wedding and my dress was from debenhams cost £49 in the sale 😂 we are still very happy 20 years later , it doesnt have to be expensive xx

Eilidh, take a look at Davids bridal over at braehead. They had a great selection of simpler dresses when I was there last week and their prices are really affordable too!

You have inspired me to look at a more simple approach. We live in Kilmarnock and cant afford a big fancy wedding.....id rather do what you are doing and remove the stress factor xx

I wouldn't bother with favours. Ours cost about £40-50 for 60 and I still think it ended up being a waste. Heaps got left over and I doubt people do anything with it. Unless it's like a scratch card or something. But honestly wouldn't bother 🙈 Also I've just designed a dress for you in my head. I'll have to draw it haha

We got married in the Dominican Republic - I like you am not into fuss and being centre of attention. My husband and I went away on our own and there ended up being 14 people at the wedding. We did have a huge reception party when we came home. Best thing ever and would do it again and definitely recommend it. They did all the organising. Look forward to more updates. Sounds very intimate and special. My sister got married a few years ago went to a register office and had a party/get together afterwards for everyone and she got her dress from Coast if it's any help to you x
Omg, I'm portuguese and my fiancé is English and we go Portugal every year because he just fell in love with everything. Proud Moment for me! Great video as I'm getting married too.

Aw how exciting it’s amazing how much little details comes with a wedding! Me & my husband got married in November 2017 after 10 years together, we went to Gretna green with our two children & had the best weekend it was beautiful, stunning, staff, minister, the room, was absolutely amazing we were looked after so well, came back & told all our family! We said we were going to a hotel for the weekend which no one thought anything of & it was great to surprise everyone & listening to people plan a wedding stresses me out! 😂😂😂xxx

Congratulations! Thanks so much for sharing your plans with us! I would love to have a small, inexpensive wedding, but my partner and I both have very large extended families and I'm sure people would be offended if they weren't included.
Ahh we have quite small families so were able to just fit into our small venue!xx

Yes they’ve been my go-to places so far! There’s some lovely dresses on there but haven’t found the perfect one yet!
I love that you are just wanting a meaningful simple wedding! I live everything you’ve talked about having I think it fab! I got married when I was 19 but it only lasted a year! My dad had been diagnosed with cancer so we brought our wedding forward a year and I planned it from start to finish in 6 weeks! We spent a ducking fortune as I at the time just wanted it to be the most special day for my dad really! I am an only child and my dad has always talked about how proud he would be to walk me down the aisle! Thankfully we managed to get a cancellation because if we hadn’t the date I originally had my dad wouldn’t of made it to as he passed away 3 weeks after I got married! I had the wedding in the north church in Prestwick by the same minister who christened me then the reception at the Parkstone Hotel in Prestwick! I have now been with my new partner for 14 years and he’s the best step daddy to my 2 kids who were only 2 and a half and 6 months when we got together and we have another girl together! We’re quite happy not being married, but I would like to have the same name as him and my youngest daughter as all my kids have different last names! Anyway after that long explanation my point is that I would do something very similar to you if we were to get married! Lol 😂🙈💙💙💙
Aw Kim that’s lovely that you managed to have your dad at your first wedding ❤️I was the same as you are and was never really bothered about getting married but I think the idea of having the same name is nice now that we have Oliver!xx
My husband and I married in Martha St with 2 witnesses and then went for a meal and told our parents the next day and we will be married 25 years in January. The big day day was not my thing either. A marriage is more than one day. Good luck and best wishes for the future x
