In past life had the pleasure of attending an event in the Sowden House, absolutely beautiful inside. I lived near the summit of Micheltorena in Silver Lake adjacent to the Canfield Mansion when it was a convent. I heard stories about that house. Also, used to go and spend the night in various locales on the Doheny estate, Greystone. It was easy to gain access in the 1980s and the estate at that time had it's own fire brigade with mechanic's shop, also there was a tennis court near the parking where one could see the backboard for tennis practice and an old filled in swimming pool with abandoned pool house. Resting on the front lawn under the LA stars one could almost hear the 1920s. Thanks for the posting. How I miss LA.

Note that the Sowden house wasn't designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, but his son Frank Lloyd Wright Jr., who was known as Lloyd Wright.

I found some extremely well researched info about when Tamar Hodel was a young girl living in the Sowden house. It was obvious that she was abused in the most extreme ways. The YT video I found described that she would sit or stand motionless outside in the front yard, pretending to be a statue, and of course react if anyone noticed her. She was declared a juvenile delinquent, just such a sad, completely unfair lack of any sort of respect was ever given to her by her family. Her mother was just as horrible as her father was to her. The police sure did not help her. Heartbreaking and led to so much more family disfunction when she ended up having children. Horrible travesty, and that does not even include the suspicion of the infamous murder.

What’s more odd is if you ever go to forest lawn memorial park in Glendale, California Ned doheny has a large distinguished tomb and a few rows down is his assistant in a normal ground plot . I guess not only did they die together but they’re literally spending eternity together .

Doheny was gay. Plunkett was his lover. Doheny killed Plunkett and then killed himself. A friend of mine knew Elizabeth Short. She saw her frequently and had mutual friends.

I literally live 2 blocks away from the murder house I take my dog for his walks around there we always pass that house and I would see pple take pictures of it and I always wondered why lol 😆 now I know.I always thought it was hella creepy u definitely get some type of eery vibe from just looking at it.

Came across this looking for Haunted locations in LA. Quite honestly given my background, I would love to not only own but live in any of those three locations. In the past I actually had a conversation with a spirit of a family friend that passed away. I'm no medium, nor am I physic, but I am attuned to listen to things that are not there and see that which is not visible. Sadly I don't make enough to buy a mansion in this economy, but a tour of one would be nice, say around....3am the Witching hour.

@@DarinEppich been in Pennsylvania upper Arlington I've been to certain ones in Maryland one in Kentucky West Virginia Virginia another state lot of houses that I've go to nobody sees the spirits I see but me I personally I'm able to talk to him if it's all for good reason
