A few years back, I participated in a March for Jesus in my city. We got blocked, sworn at, spat on, screamed at and called a creative and disgusting array of names. A couple of people were assaulted. Nobody was arrested or charged. No hate crimes were reported. And why not? If the same happened here or at any of the other parades and celebrations that happen, there would be arrests and charges, left, right and centre. It would be ALL over the evening news from coast to coast.

Happy Vaisakhi! I have great respect and admiration for this community- how they provide free food to all not only in their temples but in numerous emergency situations all over the world! We are very fortunate to have them in our country and always wish them well in all their celebrations. Unfortunately I was working on Saturday otherwise would have loved to join them!
