I like how at the start, it almost sounds like the Flooded caves theme, but it suddenly evolves into a more rigid and sturdy theme, amazing!

the fact that the antibirth mod was so popular it's becoming part of the actual game is insane
oooooh yeah i remember it being a mod and thinking wow this is crazy
It's both popularity and Antibirth fitting TBOI very well, Fiend Folio and Revelations are also two super popular mods that add a lot of content but they never, ever, had a shot at becoming official due to how hard they clash with Isaac's core and story (In fact, Fiend Folio devs are self aware about this and don't think the mod will ever get approached by Edmund outside of very small nods)
95% of Antibirth items, mechanics trinkets and bosses fit into the game without any clashes and just need some polish (which Repentance did), it's own original storyline and ending, although scrapped, was an approach you could totally see in TBOI without it looking out of place.
To summarize Antibirth was unquestionably the number #1 most popular mod back in the day, but popularity alone wasn't what made it become official, props to the Antibirth dev team for making it work so well with Isaac as a whole.

Man, Ridiculon guys learned a lot in the 6 years after BoI: Rebirth released. The vanilla soundtrack is so dry compared to what they've done for Repentance
Yeah, I can see myself actively trying to go down the alternate path just for these tracks alone.
Except for moms and satans theme.
Yeah, aside from a couple songs I agree, Ridiculon themselves have even made remixes of the base rebirth songs, hope they get added in this as an optional soundtrack

this feels like the perfect mix of the best elements from both the vanilla and rebirth soundtracks. the emotional heart and soul of vanilla mixed with the more textured, atmospheric sounds of rebirth. its fantastic, i was smiling the whole way through. im unbelievably hyped for the new content of repentance and to hear more music like this in game. Every time I went downpour I pause for a few minutes just to appreciate the beautiful of this song. It is perfect with the wet and sad atmosphere of the place. I just love this ost.

It makes me hope that there's a new ending in addition to the original one Antibirth provided. Perhaps a scene of his mom despairing over the loss of her child, and reflecting upon her actions?

holy shit i had the same vibes, it has some tunes of the hidden room theme from wrath of the lamb
I mean, repentance made most of the bosses and enemies and characters sprites very similar to the wotl sprites. It even bring back lucky foot's PhD effect from wotl.

I really like how most of the alt-path floors are themed around normal things you'd find underground, like it's as if Isaac started going so deep into the basement that he accidentally entered some underground structures, like a sewer, ore some mines, or an ancient occult temple/torture chamber (y'know, as you do.)
and then winds up back in his dead mom.

This is by far my fav song in Repentance. I love how it's both harmonic and atmospheric just like how Danny B's soundtrack for the original binding of Isaac was.

Wow. Just wow. This music really feels like it's made for the last chapter of the series.
I absolutely LOVE Mudeth's music, but honestly, I gotta give props to Ridiculon. They've REALLY stepped up their game since Rebirth. The music they've done for Repentence is fantastic, and this is honestly one of my favorite new tracks of theirs.

This might be a huge reach, but this song seems to me like the soundtrack to all the tears that Isaac, his Mother and Father all shared.. all for different reasons, but all at the same time.
The name "Rivers of Despair" seems so fitting when I think of it like that.
All this time I was thinking "I'll just snag a mod that restores the Antibirth OST to the levels", but good god, these ones are AWESOME. Definitely up there with Mudeth's work.

That's a good point. Since it's been confirmed that the version of the Witness in this game is going to be different, it's entirely possible that it's gonna be a boss based on Mom. It'd make sense, you fight Mom's Foot first, then her heart, and now as the final boss you're fighting her entire body. Or her corpse, for that matter.

The way this beautiful track kind of "introduces" you to the Repentance DLC is honestly amazing. Repentance must be my favorite dlc of all time due to how good it is and complete it makes the game feel after the Afterbirths.

Now, THIS is a good one. It catches the same feeling that Hallowed Ground did. It feels like a sewer crawl.
However, it still doesn't feel quite right to me, but, I feel like it's because Hallowed Ground was a lot more direct with it's feeling, whereas this is a lot more subtle.

Downpour is in my opinion the scariest place in the game. There is no need for blood spatters or crazy evil colors. The pure ambiance of downpour and it’s incredible sound design make the place scary even when a room is completely empty. The area has a calmness that no other does which almost tells a story for your mind to fill in the blanks of. Maybe it’s just because it’s a new unexplored area and the incredible track that goes with it but I applaud the anti birth team for their incredible work.
