We were making good money doing those $10 orders for 3 to 6 items and now we see $4 for the same item count
OMG!! I AM PINNING THIS! When I was knocking out the $10 orders, making $100 was a piece of cake. The minute they lowered pay to $4, the downhill slope became drastic. It didn’t matter as much if you didn’t have a bot because you can do the little $10 orders. Now NO small order is worth it unless it gets boosted.

I love the combo of working full time and doing gig work on the side, I can only imagine the stress gig work can cause when we have slow weeks if it's your primary job.

Congratulations on your new "real job"! I've been in mine since May, and while I’m really happy to have a steady income, I do miss the flexibility of setting my own schedule. I said I would still do IC on the side, but I haven’t done a batch since. I just read Reddit and see nothing has changed.
You have to be able to pay your bills. Unfortunately it seems like the gig work is not stable. There seems to be a lot of scanning going on too.

Honestly same. I get more fulfillment out of my 18 dollar an hour job at Home Depot than my salary engineering job making 61k a year before bonuses. I sometimes hate it but I use it to invest and save my way out of this life.

After a while, I started hating delivering so I had to quit. The money got less and less and the miles got more. Plus, traffic in the city makes each delivery take forever. I’m not trying to drive across town for a few dollars after taxes, gas etc
When you start hating something, then it’s time to look elsewhere so you did a good move. I hate the city and always catch myself getting mad so I avoid it 😅 I stay in suburbs and I still don’t hate doing deliveries but definitely it’s gotten slower.
I am sooo happy for you. You at least now have a job that you don't have to pay anything just to do it all day. (Im talking about the gas expense and also all that wear and tear.) That in itself, is sooo worth going to IKEA. Plus, honestly, the pay is pretty good. You are making a smart move my friend. I can EASILY see you at IKEA. Good luck and Congrats!

Congratulations getting a job doing something you enjoy! Ignore anyone claiming to make $3K a week doing gig work. They're not telling the part about being out there all day and all night, multiple trips to the gas station every single day. $3K a week with minimal effort may have been possible back in 2010 but not now. You made a smart and sustainable move!

Couldn’t agree more! Look, it’s 2024, everyone should have more than one stream of income. You won’t be burning as much gas and car degradation. I always said this car stuff is strictly extra income. That’s all it was ever intended to be. Work a full day “real” job and just hustle on the side
Yeah man less gas (even though I’ll be paying more in taxes 😭) less car depreciation and more income from staying in the same place but also using the car for deliveries on the side

@@jo_ezzy I got out of personal training because the pay was low without having consistent clientele, so I got back into selling glasses as a Optician and it's fun with good pay , plus I had experience because I did it in my early 20s. I'll be honest tho I miss the self employment life , one day I gotta get back to it.

After 4600 deliveries it’s getting old, up to 2023 was ok, now the gig market is so over saturated, I’m making half for same hours. I just bought a new car and don’t want to destroy it so I cut gig work and concentrating other income streams.
I agree and my other announcement is related to this comment so I won’t spoil it now 😅 but yeah way over saturated and honestly I don’t see it getting better anytime soon. Uber is desperate to replace humans with robots and other apps honestly doesn’t care about what’s going on.
You need to do what it takes to be able to support yourself. I am pleased to hear you are working at a place you like. It seems the gig work is just too unstable to totally depend on I am happy to hear you are continuing UA-cam. I still don't have a surgery date. I am doing a lot of things around my house until that time!

Hey Joel, I wish you nothing but the best. I was in a similar situation earlier this year. I did food deliveries and worked as an independent contractor for a company pretty much my own boss for three years. At the beginning of this year, I started working at Verizon and I only lasted about four months before I ended up quitting just because the flexibility and freedom was not there anymore. I hope that’s not the case with you and hopefully you have much success.
I agree that there will be that chance that the flexibility will get crunched because they may ask you to work on your days off and stay late and things like that. Hopefully it’s ok for me we’ll see 🙏🏽

bro you're doing way too much man careful you don't burn out. I find it very hard to make over 500 on a regular week doing uber eats because most of the requests are trash and i keep my mile to dollar ratio super low but i do trade options so it helps a lot...
I’ll still be working the same amount of hours per week but this time most of the hours will be at ikea. I’ve cleaned up my diet, being consistent at the gym and getting good sleep. It’s helping me reduce burnout. We’ll see if this job burns me out 🙏🏽

Jo-ezzy, I am a recruiter with a large corp and accountants make more than $18-19 per hour, try by almost 1 half to 2 times $32-$37 per hour (I am in the Midwest, however, salaries are likely not that different from the east cost in FL. However, I hear you though. I side hustle myself as well and it's hard to keep up with corp hustle. Congrats on your role.
Hey what’s up? Thanks man 🙏🏽 also You have to see salaries in Miami specifically, pay won’t go higher than probably $50k per year unless you have a CPA. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same in the whole state but I haven’t checked. And if you look at tech jobs like a programmer, pay is like $18 or $20 per hour. The difference here versus the rest of the country is huge.

Congratulations. Take advantage of every opportunity that makes sense to you. Learn all you can while you’re getting paid to do it. Find out about the logistics ikea uses to move their products and you may move up faster than you think

I'm actually thinking of doing the sale. I used to make 1500 a week with DD, UE and IC, now I struggle to make 800. It's not fun anymore with all the bots and Russians with 4 phones.
Hold up I saw another post somewhere about Russians, are Russians really taking over?? But yes I agree we’re having to work more to make the same or even less it’s like going the opposite direction 😢

Good for you... stay focused... keep grinding. Do what makes YOU happy. I have my online business (since 2008)... sales fell down after Covid... so now doing the food gig work too. Plan to get back into "flipping" collectibles again... something I use to do and made good money at it. Since watching you and a few others videos... I got brave and drove down to a busier zone (tons of road traffic) but have doubled my $$$ from my "favorite" zone. Did $102 from 3pm to 9pm (just food delivery)... which makes me quite happy right now. Will have to turn on the shopping part next week... since alot of tge stores are in that busy area. Going to brave it again Fri, Sat and Sun... and hopefully the results will be great. 😁

Jo ezzy ever thought about Amazon warehouse, I heard they pay 22.00 an hour. Yeah I am thinking about joining the rat race again. Food delivery is easy work, but can't control the crazy drivers. Good luck at IKEA, I heard they make good Swedish meatballs.
All I will say is that I’m on the Amazon no rehire list 😂 if they pay $22 per hour I would definitely do it. They make you work SUPER HARD but if you’re working, nobody bothers you. Plus you get UTO (unpaid time off) and it’s pretty flexible
@jo_ezzy I saw on the news, the employees didn't look too happy, and u have to hold it in bosses don't like when u take bathroom breaks. Remember don't chase money, chase happiness.

@carn28 It doesn't matter how boring it is. He will no longer have to pay a bill every month on GAS and CAR expenses just to go to work. That's the important thing. His car gas and maintenance will be MUCH lower. I am so happy for him. He's making a smart move.
The last time I was there I was always busy until they told us to stop pulling orders and clean the aisles. That’s when it got boring AF so I guess it depends how slow it is. We’ll see how it goes this time

@jo_ezzy yea 10 years ago the irs told me don't worry about the 1099 that showed up at my house(it was me actually) but 3 years later they tagged on 3 years of interest
