Man after you finish the game this all gets so sad. Like a memory you wished you could live again for the first time, something that you somehow would like not to end.
This track is the reason that I ran around that desert on foot, no matter how much longer it took, rather than use the buggy unless I absolutely had to.
It's a magical game - this team should do the next mainline FF. I do worry that it's also so good, though, because it was wrote in the 90s by a much more inspired, creative team of writers, including legends Y Kitase and H Sakaguchi. Rebith follows the original pretty closely from what I've read. In any case, it's a true standout JRPG, and in this day and age, has to be thoroughly savored! I'm at this point in the game - Corel desert - and had the exact same epiphany as you. Love this track. Love this game. Top teir.
This theme alone is why Corel is a place i like to revisit. It's a giant desert/wasteland but the music makes it feel so adventurous and fun to explore.
Magical game, and I think many may not realise how bllessed we are to be able to play this. Decades of JRPG refiniement and amazing graphics, but with the insanely creative storytelling and writing of the original team (primarilly Yoshinori Kitase and Hironobu Sakaguchi) as its backbone and soul.
This is is absolutely perfect. Rebirth has a plethora of amazing tracks, but this one right here just NAILS it. This is the acoustic incarnation of "adventure". Edit: (Temporary) Shoutout to SqEx for still not having this taken down after 12 days. Maybe some Mercy for once pls, since we cannot hear your stuff outside of the game officially?
I love this theme. The new music in this game is more memorable than the OG OST, yet even listening to tracks like this, they still somehow give that 1997 vibe, that feeling, you know?
ive been in corel for about 2 weeks and I don't want to leave it omg but Im finally in the buggy and on to the next. This region has been so amazing as soon as you land at Costa Del Sol. This track is SO GOOD.
It’s insane that the first play through of this game had THAT magical feeling of adventure like the original. I need to play through it all again soon ❤
I wonder if this one might actually be 3/4. I'm just not feeling that two-sets-of-triplets (comprising two dotted-quarter notes each, thereby making 8th notes the basic unit of measure) type of pulse. I'm very much feeling two pairs of 8th notes comprising each quarter note, of which there are three. And it's not at all awkward to count 1+2+3+ .... The percussive instruments (and faint guitar strumming) really reinforce that strongly. For a point a comparison, you've got the North Corel theme (Holding My Thoughts in My Heart--Seabreeze) that is very clearly 6/8, with two sets of triplets per measure (which are not only implied, but played out on the orchestral harp and chimes or some similar instrument). And if you try counting that one 1+2+3+ as if it were two pairs of 8th notes per beat, it's very awkward. (Although, the intro to that one, of course, is in 4 before it changes).
It's so worth the wait, my friend.. my favorite osts is this. VS. Dyne, VS. Terror of the Deep, Escort Sam (bow wow wow), Gongaga Region theme. You name it. This game is so full of life in the osts
Can you upload the Corel region theme that plays in the desert originally before gathering enough Intel? It’s this track but with different instruments
Honestly not a bad combo, those 2 have been carrying me almost my entire playthrough. Barret with lifesaver, steelskin, barrier, and chakra makes him a crazy damage tank, and cloud lays into the enemy while yuffie is usually able to exploit their weakness.
I use them together most of the time, Yuffie never leaves the party and I really like having a tank for when she draws too much aggro as her ATB gain is insane.
@@DisIo19nope it ended up being shima. Close though! Dude is the unsung hero of FFVII Remake/Rebirth music though, he has made some of my favorite new themes and rearrangements.
I just realized the Dune Buggy in the original game and the Tiny Bronco in the original game were pointless when it comes to gameplay and side quests. They could have used the Dune Buggy and the Tiny Bronco (flying for a small portion of the game we didn't get) to open up side quests that if you're up for it you can do now - or much later in the game when easier. Then Tiny Bronco (damaged) and on water for the same thing. The Tiny Bronco being able to be fixed and fly low level would have been cool. Also with all 3 vehicles there could have been fun items you can ONLY get at that time in the game. Kind of a wasted opportunity for more fun & story. All items were left to Chocobos via Chochobo Breeding and The Highwind much later in the game.
Can anyone else hear the Dragon Roost Island melody from Zelda Wind Waker between 2:08 and 2:20? It’s slower and misses a couple notes but it’s close enough to almost be a direct quote.
I loved grassland, Junon, Nibelheim and Corel was my favorite. But Gongaga and Cosmo was really annoying. The 3D maze like map took away the joy of simple exploration.
Don't personally hear it with this track but the theme that plays when you fight the jenova monster in the boat after leaving junon sounds very NieR-ish, with the vocals they use
I have such an unhealthy obsession with this track
Really stuck out to me too
Man after you finish the game this all gets so sad. Like a memory you wished you could live again for the first time, something that you somehow would like not to end.
It made exploring the Corel region feel like such an adventure.
Same
Same i dont know why
This track is the reason that I ran around that desert on foot, no matter how much longer it took, rather than use the buggy unless I absolutely had to.

it was at this point i realized ffvii rebirth is a different breed

I just instantly smiled when I read your comment and was listening to the song. This game truly hit different than any other for me.
It was at this moment I realised this is GOTY 2024.

That bit of brass at 1:44 sends me every time
Same! Every time! 🎶🎺
Just heard this performed live at the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth concert at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
I was there too! When they transitioned from this to the Gongaga region theme, it was amazing.
Same. I got hyped af lol, too bad it was such a short snippet though
wtf I'm so jealous
The south Corel story was so good, man.
Not better than north corel.
lol why's it gotta be a competition? they can't both be good?@@sonicsucks20
@@4o4FoundingTitan I agree, very weird
@@sonicsucks20 what about east corel??
Not as good as south west Corel
This track feels so relaxing but yet so adventurous at the same time how can you mix opposite feeling on a same song godamn rebirth ost is killing it
I'm going to the Royal Albert Hall in London this September to watch the live orchestra. Can't wait
@RichyJam2011 I'll be seeing them in Buffalo, NY in November. Should be a great show for us both!
By far one of the best track !
Yes this is my top then the mythril mine one
Ohhhhh yeah !
We need some uploads with the battle theme thrown in!
Idk how, but this song gives me a lot of the original ff7 vibes
music is so important to games and square enix nails it everytime man, what a piece of art this game is.
I feel like this is the track that made me realize oh, wow, we’re really just getting going, aren’t we? Here at [checks game clock] 60 hours in?
Lol I just arrived here, also clocking 60 hours
This is actually one of my favorite soundtracks from the game. Just upbeat and with a lot of personality.
omg they absolutely nailed this one
I freaking love when then Orcadian kicks in at 1:10. It's just so good!
My fav world map theme, anyone else?
This theme alone is why Corel is a place i like to revisit.
It's a giant desert/wasteland but the music makes it feel so adventurous and fun to explore.
SquareEnix produced an auditory antidepressant. This is an amazing group of sounds. Top tier work.

Jesus fucking God christ this is THE ONE.
This is my favorite song of the game so far
1:03 really gets me

Thank you so much! I was looking for this theme for a bit. Corel has so many different themes that this one got lost in the algorithm
I love this theme. The new music in this game is more memorable than the OG OST, yet even listening to tracks like this, they still somehow give that 1997 vibe, that feeling, you know?

Thank you so much for posting this, I listen to it every time I work and it's been such a delight!
This was a standout for the new tracks for me, fits well
Love this. This game brings such a feeling of wonder
Truly captures the feeling of exploration, kind of reminds me of Zelda.
Thanks for uploading! Love this track
Just wow ❤❤🥰🥰
It's like the best "field" music from Breath of the Wild, Nier, and Final Fantasy all had a baby together and it's THIS amazing piece of music.
Am I the only one who hums to the accordion parts?
obsessed with the accordion parts!!!
There's even more accordion in the original version, but at some point in the game it cannot be heard anymore. A shame!
I came searching for this song and I found it. Thank you a million.

My fav ost in this game
It’s insane that the first play through of this game had THAT magical feeling of adventure like the original.
I need to play through it all again soon ❤
Cello is def the hero instrument for me in this track!
Showing my love for this amazing track. I went back to Corel just to listen to this on occasion.
Damn. My grandmother died last year.. this song reminds me of her. Kinda sucks knowing you'll never hear someone's voice again.
Thank you so much. This was my fav region theme.
You can’t beat a good track with a 6/8 timeframe. Glorious.

ohhhhh yeah that's the stuff
I get this stuck in my head constantly haha
I don't have a PS5. Can't wait to play this game on PC when it finally comes out............

My favourite by far after Nibelheim and Gongaga
ありがとう🙌☺️
Man i love this game !
Listening to this track while exploring Macau.
The music in this game is insane. Like it shouldn’t be this good? But it flipping is!
0:15 very similar to the terran tracks of starcraft , love it
This song reminds me a little bit of pokemon scarlet and violet's route themes
I wish the monsters in this area weren't a pain to fight as this is my favourite area music for both the non combat and battle theme.
Damn this tune is it fam!!
Can you upload the Corel region theme that plays in the desert originally before gathering enough Intel? It’s this track but with different instruments
Interesting choice of having Yuffie and Barret in your party :D

Wondering if that one is Hamauzu’s. Doesn’t sound like him (except that bit from 1:44 from 1:52) but the harmonies are so good it could be.
I think this is either Shotaro Shima or Nakamura (who did the Junon field themes).
@@Ghosthitman387 yeah you’re probably right. Would bet a penny on nakamura.

Is this song a re-arrangement of anything from OG? It sounds familiar but I can’t place it…
I think it's completely new.
Yeah this is completely new but it sounds like it would fit right in the OG soundtrack
Can anyone identify the instrument at 1:11?
Accordion
Why does it remind me of The Lick?
I loved grassland, Junon, Nibelheim and Corel was my favorite.
But Gongaga and Cosmo was really annoying. The 3D maze like map took away the joy of simple exploration.

Putting ads in the middle of the track M8? Really?
Blame UA-cam, or yourself for not getting UA-cam Premium or using an ad block.
