    Jack Daniels is the McDonald’s of whiskey 🥃

    • @JoshChristiane
      @JoshChristiane 2 роки тому +4

      Not true in the slightest. The process used for all manufacturing of Bourbon is shockingly similar. The real difference is just the lineup they offer, how long its aged, the exact mash-bill. Jack Daniels is actually extremely good when you try the single barrel - barrel proof options, but the normal Jack is far too watered down at 80 proof so it lacks flavour and becomes watery. But I highly encourage you try some of their less watered down stuff, you may change your mind.

      @@JoshChristiane nobody was dissing in the slightest when it comes to the gentleman Jack or the single barrel or any other more exclusive bottles of the brand. But the old N7 just doesn’t worth the price compared to options like JB , MM, EC or WR. Whether it’s bc the 80 proof or the lack of quality. Just too much marketing that makes the average drinker pay for a awful bottle.

      They're all Whiskey by definition:
      Scotch should be 100% a product of Scotland to be a Scotch.

      Yeah they didn't mention scotch but scotch whisky is a whiskey produced in Scotland and blended with peat to add a dimension of smokey flavor. Scotch is also only distilled twice as opposed to 3 times like Kentucky, Tennessee, and Irish whiskey.

      @@jackdaniels9179 peat isn't an ingredient in scotch whisky and isn't added to provide the smokiness. Some distilleries for historic reasons order barley, through which the process of heating (malting) it has been done by burning peat below it which produces the distinct flavour. Also scotch whisky can be triple distilled although not common. Auchentoshan and Hazelburn triple distill all their whisky. Some others such as Benriach and Benromach have triple distilled whisky in their range.

    It's amazing how many people hate Jack Daniels without actually understanding what it is, just because it's cool to hate what's popular. By generic production method Jack is the same as every other bourbon. The only differences are mash-bill, temperatures for the beer, how tall your column or pot still are, how long you charr barrels, etc. The process has many minute details that change from hand to hand, but in the end the product is still high quality bourbon, Jack just waters it down too much. One bourbon isn't usually better than another, just different (with few exceptions). 80 proof isn't a great look on any bottle of whiskey, and that's the real shame of Jack's main bottle.

    Whiskey: Global term for fermenting grain, then distilling it, then Putting it into a barrel to mature
    Scotch: Whiskey made in Scotland
    Bourbon: Whiskey made in USA only and can’t reuse the barrels-has to be at least 51% corn and the most natural.

    • @jackdaniels9179
      @jackdaniels9179 4 роки тому +3

      The "most natural" was strictly a selling ploy...most whiskey's and whisky's are made naturally without sugars or artificial flavors.

    • @JoshChristiane
      @JoshChristiane 2 роки тому +1

      @@jackdaniels9179 Yeah true. However, most scotch does have colour added to it (usually made from Caramel like E150), as well as most Canadian Whisky and Irish Whisky. Bourbon cannot have any colouring added. And almost every rum on the market has "seasoning" added to it, which is what they call a sugar they add which comes from the same sugar cane used to make that rum. Sugar is also added to almost every Brandy in small amounts (usually in France).

    Simple:
    Scotch: drink it just like that. Direct from the bottle, I wouldn't add a single rock to a 12 y/o blend.
    Bourbon: Make stuff like a Manhattan, or an Old Fashioned. Great cocktails that you wouldn't waste your scotch in doing those.
    For those that want to compare, Bourbon can't keep up with a 12 y/o blend. Don't dare to compare it with a Single Malt.
    Anyone with minimum education can tell the difference.
    Cheers lads.

      Technically bourbon can be made elsewhere but it wouldn’t be able to market itself as a bourbon because of laws. Just like Scotch has to come from Scotland to be called Scotch. “Whiskey may be made everywhere from Brooklyn to Scotland but in 1964, Congress declared bourbon "America's Native Spirit." That means to be called bourbon, it must be made in the U.S. But really, everyone knows that means Kentucky-95 percent of the world's bourbon is made in Kentucky.”

    • @JoshChristiane
      @JoshChristiane 2 роки тому

      Incorrect. Whiskey is spelled both with and without an E in the United States and Ireland. In Scotland and Canada it's spelled solely without the E. A simple google search will confirm this. Four Roses spells it with the E on their bottle, and Maker's Mark drops the E on their bottle. It's actually very inconsistent.
