I'm not too surprised about Trey being manipulative. I mean, he has shown to be a suspicious person afterall. Let's remember the fact that he doesn't want to attract much attention to himself and has always shown to be a nice person. This type of thing could easily fool people to think that he's a person who is easy to talk or be with. We have to remember this is a school of villains, of course they will be twisted in some kind of way (There are exceptions like Kalim, Silver and Rook though). Imo, I agree with another comment which says that Trey was looking through an objective lens. He knows how studious Riddle is and how short tempered he is, which is super in character to be the head of a dorm literally based off of having the qualities of severe, strict and harsh. I don’t think Trey was a manipulator, plus this is also a dream. If this is considered the true nature then buff epel is a reality! 😂
Now I thank god that we had to see Cater's dream before Ace's, if Ace had to see this side of cater and trey he would suspect them more than Deuce (who tends to be dumb sometimes, but his honesty and straight-forward thinking would make him believe more in his senpai). Trey and Cater were more Riddle’s lackeys/henchmen/enforcers than advisers. Riddle is strict, no nonsense and determined but he is reasonable for the most part. Honestly I think his overblot was more a case of really bad timing than anything. Like he just got back to school after dealing with his nightmare of a mother, there were a hundred and one things to prepare since the school year is just starting and everyone else is still in lazy mode, some of his newest freshmen caused an unmitigated disaster with the chandelier thing which he has to take responsibility for as the dorm leader, everyone is breaking rules left right and center since they just got back from break and are refamiliarizing themselves with it or are new and haven’t read the rule book yet, then Ace challenges him for the position that he earned when Ace was the one who broke the rules and he just exploded. They do not know anything about Riddle and Trey, their backstory, nor do they know anything about Cater, either. Another good point I saw under this video was that this is also a dream. And, to quote them, “if this is considered the true nature, then buff Epel is a reality!” They may not be complete goody two shoes, but they aren’t that bad, either. Edit: Also, when Ortho was reassuring Deuce about the honor student thing, he said that this is a distorted reality, so they're being mislead on what is true and what isn't. Deuce waking up also highlighted how importabt being an honor student is to him, so that is why I was surprised his dream was him still being a delinquent when he wants to leave that behind. Long story short, the dreams shouldn't be taken at face value.
Last night, I initially decided I was not going to leave this comment since it is random (and I acknowledged that as well in the long comment I left under one of Ekala’s videos), and because it is honestly wholly unrelated to this video. But I changed my mind since Trey’s hobby has come up more than once in the comment section. For context, the reason why I addressed this in a comment under one of Ekala’s fan translations of the Nightmare Before Christmas event is because Trey was critiquing the foods that Idia eats since they do not properly excercise the jaw. Riddle says, “Trey’s hobby aside.” I may not be a dental expert, but exercising your jaw and brushing teeth are two separate things. Anyways, the bulk of this comment is about how Trey’s hobby is categorized and why I feel it should have been listed differently. I feel like his hobby should’ve been listed as dentistry rather than brushing teeth. With dentistry I would have just thought he studies dental related textbooks, materials, stuff online, and dentist related medical journals, etc. It is honestly pretty clear that he does study dental related materials. A hobby isn’t just doing something that interests you, but also studying something that interests you. I also do agree with the reply @/sevenqualson’s reply of “Someone who works with cavity producing confections his whole life?” On the topic of his hobby listed as teeth brushing. After all, his parent’s were the ones to stress how important it is to take proper care of his teeth for that reason. Trey likely isn’t any different than Sebek’s dad, or Willy Wonka’s dad in the 2005 movie “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” (And yes, I do know those two are dentists.)
Oh my god, i just realised from this thay it's not only cater that's good ar hiding what he's thinking, it's trey as well!. I think trey is so ignored(as a character), but we should remember he's in NRC, and lived in both conditions of lawless abd strict lawful dorm, we don't know how troublesome trey would've been in hus first year, cater too. Trey seems all nice and kind and so cater, if cater's kind face can be somewhat an act, so can be trey's as well. Like once you start loving the chaos and wild fun the sudden change from that to strict life most definitely is impactful, who knows? Cater and trey must've had a dislike for riddle at first until they accepted him, or well, they had to. All the third years aren't shrewd and complicated for no reason after all, every one of them had their backstory and reason for the way they are now. So does trey, you know what they say, people who look nice might not actually be all nice and good. I'm pretty sure both cater and trey manipulate their dormmates when they have to or for their advantage, secretly. I mean, every one in nrc does. But, Trey is seen as a green flag, but do you all have any guarantee of that? People can be expert at hiding their real thoughts and emotions and that applies to every in nrc too. Crowley did said everyone is prideful and selfish in this school, and everyone means everyone. One thing dor sure, no matter how much troublesome nrc is or had been over the years, the students are clever enough not to leak any of that information outside of school otherwise it's a surprise that nrc is still standing in one of the top two schools.
I think to add to this, Trey's lab vignette is a perfect example of him being manipulative for the sake of keeping peace. That constantly tends to be his stick I find. Same with culinary crucible, where he's called out by Vil for constantly monitoring and manipulating the results/consequences for the first years learn how to make. It could be seen as him being nice, but that niceness that helps smooth things over robs other of mistakes to learn from. He pushes his niceness for the sake of avoid conflict too far a lot. While not malicious, he definitely is manipulative in an "overbearing motherly sneaking favours so grandma will like the kids more" type of way
@@ah57588 Yeah, that's the best way to describe it. So..is he still a green flag? Considering what happened in chapter 2.. I'd say he's half green half yellow. Not afraid to take revenge/payback.

I edited a reply I left to include this, but I wanted to leave it as a separate comment since it is honestly important to keep in mind: When Ortho was reassuring Deuce about the honor student thing, he said that the dreams are a distorted view of desires/a distorted reality, so they're being mislead on what is true and what isn't. Deuce waking up also highlighted how important being an honor student is to him, so that is why I was surprised his dream was him still being a delinquent when he wants to leave that behind. If I may ask, what happened in Deuce's dream? Cause he's here with us now, and I'm curious on what his dream was like. (I also wanna know what his reaction was to Yuu and Grim going around waking everyone up. Cause I remember seeing a clip of Jack's dream where he surprised and proud of us for helping everyone)
6 words. NRC turned into a mafia AU. This was both traumatizing and so unserious Actually I changed my mind, I'll yap it out because I want to so: NRC has turned into this gang like dorm where each other has their own "turf" Heartslabyul's turf is the library so if other dorms wants to get books they have to get through them first (why are they gatekeeping education AT A SCHOOL?) or how Octavinelle's turf is the shops, and if you want to buy something you have to get through them first and so on with the other dorms. Ramshackle is safe because the Headmaster deems it to be safe so I believe there's no Octavinelle plot for Deuce's dream Deuce's dream seems to have this protective streak around Yuu and Grim because this happens, Leona & Yuu together because yk the group is together Cater: "Leona, did Yuu transfer loyalties to Savanaclaw now?" Leona (feigning ignorance): "No? I'm just passing by." Trey: "Oh, that's good because if you were together with them, we would have needed to cut ties since they're close to our 1st years." SO ITS A WHOLE MAFIA THING OML Deuce, and Ace are supposedly the ones who accompany Yuu & Grim if they want to go to other dorms (I'm guessing they beat up the guys in the turf yk...or act as their shield) They're all in the cafeteria for this btw and the intro to this dream is that we see a Scarabia student with a mohawk. Turns out Heartslabyul took over the cafeteria which was originally Scarabia's turf and they're planning to take it back, dawg they even have to fight for food here?? PEOPLE ARE STARVING IN THIS DREAM DEUCE Anyways everyone is shocked by this dream since Deuce did want to be an honor student so...what happened? Then Octavinelle is having a raid in the library because they need to study. Ace and Deuce are infamous for picking fights or just fighting for the dorm in general so they're all sent there to defend the turf. Ends with Deuce saying he's going to read, Sebek gets excited to read a book, looks at said book and finds nothing in it (because this is Deuce's dream and it's sort of jumbling his brain) and then throws the book at Deuce saying, "Books are for reading! Not for weapons" (Grim in the bg says, "But you just did the same thing right now...") Whole wake up sequence happens through blot Ace and THIS IS WAS SO BAD I CRIED. Gonna post the clip later because I'm not retyping all of Ace's lines but tldr this is the scenario Blot Ace: "I'm such a good person!" Deuce's consciousness fighting with him: "Uh, are you sure about that?" As for his reaction with Yuu & Grim, these were the lines iirc Grim: "Me and Yuu have been working so hard ever since!" Deuce: "You guys helped a lot...But! Now that I'm awake, I'll also help." This is made me remember that the 2 years of no Adeuce main story update is only a few days for them in the actual story 😞 Anyway, I genuinely expected something Deuce to have something about his mother but turns out he got the silly dream for this chapter drop..makes me a little worried for what Ace's dream is gonna be like if Deuce was already this unserious.
@@fleurism Ngl, that sounds kinda funny. Just everything being completely unserious makes me excited for the clip. Also, Deuce being protective around Yuu and Grim is kinda cute

I can buy Cater trying to use Riddle, but Trey???? They've known each other since childhood, he must have known trying to manipulate Riddle would backfire on them
I agree. Remember Idia and Leona don't have Trey's backstory like we do. I don't think Trey was looking at Riddle as a puppet king, but more as a better option. He knew he couldn't overthrow the dorm leader, but Riddle could. And Riddle is his childhood friend. Likely he was thinking "Well, Riddle is my friend, so he will probably listen to me and hear me if there's complaints so, it'd be better to have someone like Riddle who actually will care and listen to the dorm lead than our current leader." It's not totally coming from a place of "I'm gonna use him to further my agenda." but more of "Riddle will actually listen and he's strong enough to take power, so I'll support my friend."
Trey may have thought that things would be better with Riddle in charge, but I agree with you. Trey does sometimes show a trickster or devious side, but he also deeply cares for Riddle. I do not see him as a manipulator. If anything, Trey is too much of a “yes-man” when it comes to Riddle. If Cater had any thought that he and Trey would be able to control Riddle, he was so wrong! 😅 Riddle ran that dorm according to his standards and goals. NO ONE gained power through persuading Riddle to make decisions. Even Trey as the Vice Housewarden could barely do anything when Riddle was in his full-tyrant stage.
I always thought trey was suspicious like saying his Um is nothing special its a literal double edged sword useful in defending as seen by turning the roses to cards and attacking we dont have proof that he has used it to attack but he can override reality
I knew something was off about Trey from the start, but holy crap. There’s no way he can be a “normal student” while having brushing his teeth as a hobby, his obsession with teeth, and be in Heartslabyul of all dorms while being “normal”

Another good point I saw under this video was that this is also a dream. And, to quote them, “if this is considered the true nature, then buff Epel is a reality!”
They may not be complete goody two shoes, but they aren’t that bad, either.
Well, hope trey’s dream will make it better (or worse)
Leona and Idia be giving Deuce trust issues, and im all here for it (but poor Deuce brah, bro seems in so much denial rn 😭‼️)
Please remember guys, Leona and Idia don’t know the backstory for Riddle and Trey.
While not malicious, he definitely is manipulative in an "overbearing motherly sneaking favours so grandma will like the kids more" type of way
Riddle even observed this with Trey during the Beanfest story
@@ah57588 Yeah, that's the best way to describe it. So..is he still a green flag? Considering what happened in chapter 2.. I'd say he's half green half yellow. Not afraid to take revenge/payback.
Deuce is so pure-hearted in Cater's dream world ilhsm💙♠ Honestly this makes me so excited for the rest of the Heartslabyul dream world cards, I can't wait✨💯🥰 Thaks for uploading the vids with translations👍
woah this reminds me of the fanfic where the characters are characterized correctly and esp trey being fishy and their 'Yuu' assumes he's not just 'an average guy' people think he is and a pretty good liar by saying he has more layers than the onions he's peeling lol
Name and site please
Is it Yuu and the power of magic by writingerror?
@@iseeyuu Yeah, it's a very good fic and the author is good at assuming theories too
@yanfeithebestlawer9675 Yuu and the Power of Magic by writingerror on ao3
I knew Trey was full of LIES when he said "I'm just a normal dude"
Everyone did. No way normal dude would have brushing his teeth as hobby
He's the deflection final boss
I edited a reply I left to include this, but I wanted to leave it as a separate comment since it is honestly important to keep in mind:
When Ortho was reassuring Deuce about the honor student thing, he said that the dreams are a distorted view of desires/a distorted reality, so they're being mislead on what is true and what isn't. Deuce waking up also highlighted how important being an honor student is to him, so that is why I was surprised his dream was him still being a delinquent when he wants to leave that behind.
Long story short, the dreams shouldn't be taken at face value.
He was back into his delinquent days in his dream. Even comes with him in his bleached hair
6 words. NRC turned into a mafia AU. This was both traumatizing and so unserious
Actually I changed my mind, I'll yap it out because I want to so:
NRC has turned into this gang like dorm where each other has their own "turf"
Heartslabyul's turf is the library so if other dorms wants to get books they have to get through them first (why are they gatekeeping education AT A SCHOOL?)
or how Octavinelle's turf is the shops, and if you want to buy something you have to get through them first and so on with the other dorms.
Ramshackle is safe because the Headmaster deems it to be safe so I believe there's no Octavinelle plot for Deuce's dream
Deuce's dream seems to have this protective streak around Yuu and Grim because this happens,
Leona & Yuu together because yk the group is together
Cater: "Leona, did Yuu transfer loyalties to Savanaclaw now?"
Leona (feigning ignorance): "No? I'm just passing by."
Trey: "Oh, that's good because if you were together with them, we would have needed to cut ties since they're close to our 1st years."
SO ITS A WHOLE MAFIA THING OML
Deuce, and Ace are supposedly the ones who accompany Yuu & Grim if they want to go to other dorms (I'm guessing they beat up the guys in the turf yk...or act as their shield)
They're all in the cafeteria for this btw and the intro to this dream is that we see a Scarabia student with a mohawk. Turns out Heartslabyul took over the cafeteria which was originally Scarabia's turf and they're planning to take it back, dawg they even have to fight for food here?? PEOPLE ARE STARVING IN THIS DREAM DEUCE
Anyways everyone is shocked by this dream since Deuce did want to be an honor student so...what happened?
Then Octavinelle is having a raid in the library because they need to study. Ace and Deuce are infamous for picking fights or just fighting for the dorm in general so they're all sent there to defend the turf.
Ends with Deuce saying he's going to read, Sebek gets excited to read a book, looks at said book and finds nothing in it (because this is Deuce's dream and it's sort of jumbling his brain) and then throws the book at Deuce saying, "Books are for reading! Not for weapons" (Grim in the bg says, "But you just did the same thing right now...")
Whole wake up sequence happens through blot Ace and THIS IS WAS SO BAD I CRIED.
Gonna post the clip later because I'm not retyping all of Ace's lines but tldr this is the scenario
Blot Ace: "I'm such a good person!"
Deuce's consciousness fighting with him: "Uh, are you sure about that?"
As for his reaction with Yuu & Grim, these were the lines iirc
Grim: "Me and Yuu have been working so hard ever since!"
Deuce: "You guys helped a lot...But! Now that I'm awake, I'll also help."
This is made me remember that the 2 years of no Adeuce main story update is only a few days for them in the actual story 😞
Anyway, I genuinely expected something Deuce to have something about his mother but turns out he got the silly dream for this chapter drop..makes me a little worried for what Ace's dream is gonna be like if Deuce was already this unserious.
@@fleurism Ngl, that sounds kinda funny. Just everything being completely unserious makes me excited for the clip.
Also, Deuce being protective around Yuu and Grim is kinda cute
Riddle will overblot once again when he finds out that the good guys he had as his advisors are actually his pupeteers.
Im a bad person
After i heard that cater and trey are manipulating riddle, I saw Caters outfits and i screamed. Im still saving for his uniform cause GODDAMN
Stop making Deuce have anxiety!! XD
TREY????? I expected more from you. And no, Cater using Riddle for his benefit isn´t something new so I ain´t surpised
pls no wonder Trey looked sus to me
I can buy Cater trying to use Riddle, but Trey????
I knew Trey was fishy!
Yeah, he was from the start we all just ignored that slight sign. He's in nrc for a reason after all. Don't think he's a green flag, at all.
@@GurbaniGill-eb7xghis smirk was big giveaway and his obsession on teeth
Not to me, he wasn't.
@@hipsterwriter fr
@annien.1727 it's okay. I am biased against trey. His teeth obsession is weird.
I wouldn't be surprised if Trey really did have bad intentions with Riddle, I mean who has teeth-brushing as a hobby?? 😭
Someone who works with cavity producing confections all his life?
I knew something was off about Trey from the start, but holy crap. There’s no way he can be a “normal student” while having brushing his teeth as a hobby, his obsession with teeth, and be in Heartslabyul of all dorms while being “normal”
Trey, you're better than this!!!!
im gonna be honest i didnt understand shit
TLDR: (1) Heartslabyul was lawless before Riddle became leader. (2) Leona and Idia think Trey and Cater are using Riddle irl.
