I was thrilled to see the real 20 mule team and wagons my dad used to work at the U.S Borax company in California fascinating history how the company got started
Cool video, Dave, the builder of the wagons, did an excellent job. Hats off to him and all involved. Though I do wonder why this festival held in the summer, aren’t there cooler months in Death Valley?
The person that recreated these wagons was Dave Engles, of Engels coach shop in Joliet Montana. He made full build videos of this on his you tube channel.
@@Pushyhog Dave’s YT videos are better , in that he does not proclaim that he knows everything about the projects he does. But as wainwright, wheelwright, blacksmith, he is always learning and he knows when he is out of his depth. Such as with the water tank for the Borax wagon set. Wether he is working on a client project or for himself, that he takes his viewers along in his thought processes is most gratifying.
Wild West? Were there asphalt highways back then? Would have liked to seen those beautiful horses pulling that massive weight on a dirt trail or road.😊
One has to be in awe of the mules who did all that pulling over the long original trail as well of those today. Hats off to the human crew as well!
Fantastic. Amazing it originally only took a two man crew to operate the wagons, mules and horses.
