- God did not create man because He was lonely. The Creator of all things was not trying to fill up any sort of lack in Himself. He is fullness itself, and is never in need of anything. Everything He did was pure overflow. Abundance is not something God has, but is rather something that God is.
Godliness with contentment is great wealth.
As much as I complain about tech, it just occurred to me that I have a pastor discipling me at 9:15 pm on a Tuesday night in a hotel room away from my family.
We should all pray for Tucker, I believe God is working on him. May God show Tucker that the foundational truth for everything is the Living Word of God.
Did you have these same thoughts about Kanye? Both are grifters of the highest order.

Great speech! No ear has heard nor eye has seen what God has prepared for each of us.
As RC Sproul has said we don't understand who God is and we don't understand who we are.
That's backwards though. We can't understand who and what we are until we get a glimpse of who and what God is. That much is clear.
@micahlantz905 it’s not backwards because it wasn’t given in any specific order. There’s no statement of cause and effect, simply both and. (Or, in this case neither or.)

You are not the only one. I disagree with you on the word, 'that' and 'interesting''. Though i find doug wilson boring and would never sit though one of his sermons, the man has to be interesting because i been watching his videos for years and reading his blogs. Do not ask me why. His richard dawkins video was a hit. I would buy a doug wilson book before I would a Richard dawkins book any day of the week if I was forced.

Thank you for the message and I am a new subscriber. I appreciate your obvious courage in taking on these most important topics and think your responses are appropriate for the times we find ourselves in. Now to the small critique; while I know that I’m surely considered a baby Christian only being saved these last four years, I dove in head first and have adopted many views on many things concerning the Bible and God. I won’t bore you with a list but will start with the aforementioned complaint/critique. I am a KJV only word of God guy for all the reasons that would probably assume and have done quite a bit of research on the subject so please don’t assume by me not making all the normal claims as to why it should always be used as ignorance on the subject. I will assume you are already familiar with the topic and have studied it for yourself and have come to another understanding, that’s fine for you and not my point. The first couple random videos I watched of yours you we’re quoting the KJV. The next video I watched you still made valid points as to your argument that I agreed with however you quoted the nKJV. I would not say I was aghast however I did find it quite predictable. I bring this up not to bash the nKJV I have no need it’s been done plenty and again I assume you are familiar with the topic. My argument is based on the word of God which is placed higher than His name, psalm 138:2. My point is the word of God is contained within the words of God which is the Holy Bible. God much like man can only have one word or record of what he said. While man may later contradict himself the Lord never would. Therefore God has one word which is very important to him Revelation 22:18-19 “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book”. A stern warning to us all; which word do you trust? The KJV would have made your point in every quoted verse and done so more beautifully in every case. Why the Bible shopping and why not just stick to one reference Bible for all scripture as it is the word of God? I guess what I’m saying is pick one Bible and stick with it. Quoting multiple bibles makes it seem like you are ashamed of the word of God in one book and highly exalt it in another, at least until you change your mind again and choose another. Luke 9:26 “For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels”. It’s fine if you don’t agree with me I know I am in the minority on this topic but my main point is that using multiple Bible versions corrupts Gods word. It’s not up to me or you to judge Gods word. He said what he said and did it for our benefit, we don’t get to edit God.

To me , Jesus says that He came to us in order that we have more abundant lives( Jn 10.10).
But John also says in his letter( 1 Jn 3.8) that Jesus came to destroy satans world and works.
It's a conundrum, a paradox and both things were written by the same writer( likelier than not).
I'm not sure why God created us, letting us live even after wanting to abort His experiment so early( Genesis 6.5-6).
Maybe it's because of the likes of Doug, RC and the rest of us that He delights in our worship for Him, and deep gratitude. ( Heb 13.15).
But we'll never know.

It's not a conundrum or a paradox. Christ came to give us the abundant life so we can be productive. And at the same time, He came to destroy the things that are preventing us from living that life. Satan's way of life is what prevents ppl from living abundant, productive lives.

I guess I'll have to watch The Tucker Episode to know what the heck the context is here. I don't think I've ever watched more than a soundbite or two of Tucker Carlson. But the internet tells me he's oh-so-controversial. They tell me Pastor Doug is, too. I've been watching/reading him for a few years now and I still can't figure it out. But, what do I know? I'm just a woman, after all.
Neither is all that controversial. A lot of Pastor Wilson's ministry is bearing fruit, and my suspicion (don't hold me to this) is that many of Wilson's critics are jealous of his fruitful ministry.
Tucker Carlson is just a decent conservative whose "lights are on" and is asking good questions. So what if he deviates from the "mainstream"?

Tucker likes to pimp Andrew Tate and Russian grocery store prices without mentioning that Russian incomes are about 1/5 of US incomes. Doug seems like a good egg though.
Tucker was fired from Fox News for spreading lies about voting machines that cost the company 700million dollars when they settled out of court. He’s not at all reputable. Just the heir to a frozen foods fortune and a known liar.

You are aware that's talking about the wife of a Deacon not a Deacon. The verse literally starts with "their wives" not they must be. Start at sentence eight and try again. Deacons must be dignified and likewise the wife of a Deacon.
