Connaught Place | Kwality Restaurant | NEW DELHI

Connaught Place is one of the main financial, commercial and business centres in New Delhi, India. It is often abbreviated as CP and houses the headquarters of several noted Indian firms and is a major shopping, nightlife and tourist destination in New Delhi. It was designed by Robert Tor Russell. As of July 2018, Connaught Place was the ninth most expensive office location in the world.
Connaught Place is a frenetic business and financial hub, centered on a ring of colonnaded Georgian-style buildings with global chain stores, vintage cinemas, bars and Indian restaurants. Stalls at Janpath Market sell saris, embroidered bags and trinkets. The peaceful Sikh temple Gurdwara Bangla Sahib is known for its reflecting pool, and Jantar Mantar is a 1700s observatory with huge astronomical instruments.
Kwality is a fine dining restaurant located at the heart of New Delhi, Connaught Place. It is possibly the forerunner in establishing a dining culture in India. Opened in 1940, this iconic restaurant still occupies its original spot in Connaught Place. While there have been changes in the decor, but the menu and the food have not changed much. Signature dishes such as the ‘Dahi Ke Kebab’, ‘Kwality Chicken Kebab’, ‘Masala Chops’ and ‘Cheese Balls’ are must-haves for appetizers. For the main course ‘Chana Bhature’, ‘Murgh Makhani’, ‘Chicken Bharta’ and ‘Taar Gosht’ go very well with the ‘Garlic Naan’. There is also a European food section, which includes dishes like the ‘Vegetable Au Gratin’, ‘Chicken Gaylord’ and ‘Coq Au Vin’. From dress code of the servers to foreign brass bands, from formal high teas to midnight dance, it is hard not to fall in love with Kwality.
