- A while back, I got a chance to see one of the newer 12s powered HSDJETS F-16s. Having seen some of the older versions fly, this one had vastly better performance and did look quite good. It appeared to fly nicely and had a nice smooth finish to it as well. I of course had to grab my camera, so here's a little of the model in action! I'm sad to report, this is one of the last videos I filmed at MRCF as the field has since been permanently closed by the base commanders orders. 😢 #F16falcon #HSDjets #TheRCGeek

I'm on my third one of these beauties. I have the latest version with S-EDF power system. It is indeed a noticeable upgrade over the old version. I'm looking forward to adding even more boost with a 3D printed thrust tube that reduces the business end of the exhaust by around 5%. Folks who have installed theirs said takeoffs were within 50 feet and nearly unlimited vertical! Can't wait! Thanks for the video!
It's amazing how similar the EDF sounds to a jet engine
It does sounds nothing like a 6-8s it also has that turbine lag it’s not instant power it build up.
I love the camo! I’ve seen the real F-16 aggressors out of Eielson AFB a few times in person (and a few hundred times on radar)

As a critic: the afterburner light needs adjustment. To be on for that much of the throttle range detracts from the scale appearance. It also needs weapon pylons. Slick F-16’s are a Thunderbird look.
Actually the load out is correct as those aircraft at Eilson are used as red air adversaries during the Alaska redflag and perform only air to air missions.
Hsd is making great stuff this f16 better perform good and what a great time to be in the edf hobby huh. F16 is the best flyng edf

Gotta high alpha those landings man! 😋😁 I think its like 11° if I recall correctly. I like to get my Eflite way up on windy days. Those HSDs do look nice. Love the wheel brakes!

@@Thercgeek pretty cool when you consider that the F16 is inherently pitch unstable with 4 computers in it just to make it stable...lol
When Lockheed's Skunk Works was designing the "Hopeless Diamond"... The F-117 Nighthawk, they used the F16 computers and added code for roll as well.
Had an F16 pilot tell me once that the procedure for 3 flight computers down was to not rely in the fouth...and just punch out. Fun times! 🤪
It was 3rd flight of the jet, still fine tuning.

Hi mate. I've got 2 questions have you notice on the landing gear locking servos are weak and need to replace a much stronger servo? Specially at the front. 2nd question I noticed that when the landing gear is down while switching the plane on, the no current or signal on the servos in short speaking landing gear is still asleep landing gear light is on and locking servos are off while gear is on down position and not really ready for take off until the the gears are fully cycled up and down in able to lock the gear in position is this normal? Because I normally transport the jet gear down so when I put my rx battery and do a flight control check and everything expecting everything is good ready for take off but not really until the landing gears are recycled.
Unfortunately, this is a model that belonged to a club mate that I filmed at our club, so I can’t specifically talk to your experiences. Hopefully he will chime in if I’m able to get in contact with him.

What batteries do you use and what about the flight time ?
I believe the owner/pilot was using some 5000s but I’m not sure. Flight time was about 3.5 minutes.

The field was on the mcas Miramar base and the commander shut the field down. 😢

While the after burner is cool, I don't think it is used for taxiing and with the gear down.
