Thank you for the information on words to use "close" and for keeping treats in line with the pant seam. I may hold my treat out too far. It's a great tip to get the dog to overturn then they always have plenty of margin for error. I taught my dog to pivot using a box under her front feet. She learned the whole thing within a week. Do you keep the food in your mouth to maintain eye contact?
Thanks! Yours are the clearest videos on Schutzhund I've seen on UA-cam. I live in a country where there is no Schutzhund school, so I'm totally reliant on the internet. My dog (14 months giant schnauzer) is doing really well, but he's getting older. I'd really appreciate an overview of each level and what's required within so that I can see what best to teach him next. He's going great on obedience, biting and releasing and loves to be sent over 7ft junps. It's all good fun, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to compete with him because I just don't know what is involved. It's a big ask, I know, just putting my perspective out there. Thanks again for the great videos 👍

Great video. You gave me an idea also for how to improve my "rewind". My GSD needs to lead the "rewind" more with his rear and rewind back into fus without jumping around me but scooting back. lol
hi, i really love your videos. thanks. how can i teach my dog to heel with a good rhythm. her head position is correct but her leg can't prance like the other dog. please give me some advice.thanks.
Go back to drive pushing into the target hand. Then make sure your mark drive and the right footwork in order to get the food. ua-cam.com/video/GaI3eb0rKY8/v-deo.html I also cover it in full detail on my online puppy course. www.schutzhundkevin.com/course?courseid=new-puppy-now-what
It is possible to teach dog this but with ball and without food? My dog dont care about food but with ball he so much excited. If it is possible please for tips.
Honestly, this is the best training channel I've come across. Thanks again from Australia.
Thanks! and you’re welcome!
I really like the way you teach the dog to understand your signals.
This is exactly what I needed! We’re not doing Schutzhund but always trying to teach my pup new things. Thank you
You’re welcome! Have fun training!
Kevin...loving your videos... super clear explanations... Thank you very much.

Great video Kevin. You have a clear delivery and conciseness when you teach. I really want to see your philosophy/training on recall and proofing.
I appreciate that! I'll add that to the list... just teach close fronts and then full distance. :)
Thank you so much for this video! I am starting rally and need to tighten this up! New sub!!
love the detailed explanations!

Glad it was helpful!
Omg, you make the footwork look so easy, but honestly that's the hardest part for me. I always trip up my feet.
Thank you, your videos are helpful

Great video, what do you use as a reward in your hand? I use his eating but the croquettes are not very manageable...
Either the dogs kibble or small cut up hot dogs.
Very nice!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Another great video Kevin, you need an assistant I work for free . . .
Thanks! I’ll hit you up if that’s something I need to look into.
@@SchutzhundKevin when I retire I want yo get a pup to train, just to stay busy. Why not learn from the best!

Yes, you can lure with the ball, or use the leash pressure for guidance then mark and release to the ball when they move.
@@SchutzhundKevin thanks for the answer. Im going to try it.
Hi Kevin, do you cover non food drive training methods, mine in the field doesn't work for food only works for the ball
Can you do a video on how to teach the A Frame

Thank you so much for spending time out of your busy schedule to point me in the right direction 🙏🏼
Love your videos only one problem, where are the Dobermans?
I have a couple Doverman clients! Check out the Instagram page! instagram.com/schutzhundkevin I personaly have GSD's. :)
@@SchutzhundKevin I sure will, thank you
Prong collars are illegal where I live. Is there anything i should be wary about when using a chain collar instead?
not really.. just mark and reward giving into the leash pressure. You can use a flat collar, fursaver, or a martingale collar.
Still waiting! ❤️
Do you not have right turns?
