Great video. I liked that you were actually warming up with this and not already ready to go. Very helpful for me to see someone make a “mistake” and notice that that part needs more warming.
Thank you for sharing your warm-up routine. This has become my daily place to go. It’s a rare opportunity to gain insights from a professional with a profound understanding of singing. I’m really grateful for your generosity. As a beginner, this helps me improve my voice and I hope many more finds your channel. Again, thank you!
I’m so happy they are helpful for you. Let me know if you would like me to cover any specific vocal technique issue in the future. I’m actually filming a couple new videos today, so check back for those soon! 😊
Thanks for your reply 🙏I would like to know more in a practical way about voice placement and registers. How to correctly use and place the voice to sing with more resonance. How to achieve a balanced voice across the range. Also, more about articulation, to sing with right expression and clarity (vowels and consonants)
These are really smart questions. 👍 Are you already studying with a voice teacher? I can definitely try to incorporate these ideas into my upcoming videos. If you would every like to book an online lesson or coaching with me, just let me know. Wishing you much success. 😊
Wow! Gerald, your exercises are just what my dramatic tenor voice needs! Warming up head notes cannot be minimized and I need to perfect head voice access and flexibility within the octave. Octave slides have been part of my exercises always, but having these high note exercises will clear my notes for better performance and practice.
Yes!!! Amazing. Trying to find my choral tenor by doing a traditional opera voice warm was not working for me or the church choir. Finally, Gerald is an amazing voice teacher. Thank Gerald! I'm sining the tenor solos in the Haydn Mass in D minor as well as the choral parts. As you know, church choirs can be limited for singers , especially tenors. I need to stay in my high tenor voice and not over sing the chore parts. Thank you!!!
There are many factors in determining your vocal fach (if you could sing as a countertenor): your usable vocal range, ease in singing in your head voice, comfortable tessitura, vocal color, ect. The best way is to find a teacher your trust. If you are interested in Online Lessons, feel free to write me. mail@geraldthompson.de
