I love how you use your personal experience to make a valid point.
There's nothing wrong with your comfort zone, it's tried and tested. It's a safe place. As long as you're open to new knowledge, it's okay to do what you know works. I'm very financially conservative and because of that, I sleep well at night not taking on unnecessary risks.

I think Human nature in us get bored really fast and that include everything, which is why everything needs a lil bit of spice now and then.
Thats what I've discovered about myself, as I get old, I enjoy doing new things to stimulate my mind.
In your case maybe you just need to change Environment to try other markets, maybe that will spice things up. New city and New tenants sound good.
I've decided to be childfree because i love changing cities, I get bored staying in one place.
Relationship: we like to try new places all the time and promised each other will never re-visit places.

uhm yes, i am NOW doing research on applying for a credit card because of my own personal relationship with money and debt, having never seen people with healthy relationships with the two made me fearful but a credit history is important and its time to take my finances into my own hands

I would say let your conscience guide you. Only you know what your values mean to you. If you feel uncomfortable with the thought of your finances supporting a business that produces alcohol, then that ought to be enough of a guide. There are many alternatives that I'm sure will suit your values.
