I didn’t even make it through the episode yet and my sides hurt from laughing so much. George Washington burping through the planning stages of the attack had me dying 😂 😂
The part at where he nearly burps at 1:07 is so funny, then he drinks at 4:05 and then Washington burps at 1:58 and 4:20, and then he says at 4:36, "Hey, Merry Christmas, motherf**cker." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rob Corddry as Washington is something I never knew I needed... and now that ive seen this, I think we need a full length Rob Corddry as "Washington" 😂
It's kind of funny to me that we look back at the Christmas Truce of 1914 and say, "Oh, isn't that nice that the soldiers could take that one occasion to carve out a little bit of peace and happiness in the middle of all that carnage" - and meanwhile the whole reason that crap can't happen normally is because of things like this, Washington's much-celebrated Christmas attack. And that said - this was war, you attack when you have the best chance of winning. But this must have felt like such a low blow...
I live in Trenton now. Its about 10 mins from Washington Crossing just across the river. The river isn't actually that wide and its pretty calm on nice days but in the winter the water gets dark, choppy, rough, and parts around the boulders that occasionally are sticking out become frozen. The river flows left to right from Washington's side he must've been getting pushed hard that nighttttt because the river can really move on windy days. For every foot they made it forward I imagine they had to be moving three to the right easy. With many boats it had to be quite chaos to navigate man, horses, and ammunition for continuously for hourssssss in the dark. Amazing. I encourage anyone to visit ONLY IF YOURE PASSING THROUGH its honestly not worth planning a trip too there isn't much in Trenton that's preserved other than the Trent house and a soldiers barracks turned museum. But it is the perfect area for a picnic. There's also his encampment you can visit and the house of the local patriot where Washington stayed the night before crossing. You can also take the same 9 mile trail his soldiers took to attack Trenton, and then took to leave the city after victory.
This Shit is the Best. I love drunk history. The way the actors deliver the exact dialogue from the wasted guy almost makes ME piss MY pants! The drunken attempt at the Scottish accent. Primo. And the "Dude. We gotta get across this river" line seals the deal. That should be the working title to "Washington's Crossing" which is what brought me to UA-cam just now. The belching worked in to the reenactment is gold along with the Red Solo Cup!
Can you imagine? Captured, taken prisoner & then having to cross that river in those conditions... on Christmas,.. & then damn, your hangover kicks in.

Washington to Black Soldier: Hey man, this is the birth of our nation!
Black Soldier: Cool can't wait to be free when we win
