I'm not particularly religious at all, but this game is very powerful. When John finally exorcises Amy and finishes his prayer with "Amen," while standing there covered in blood, it brings tears to my eyes. Such a moving moment.
Likewise, it's definitely a powerful ending that has stuck with me. Similar to Underground in that regard, happy endings are forgettable, but this was bitter sweet.
When you realize that John is just your average human against a demon without any super powers but his Strong faith alone in front of a demon is such a great feat. Defeating one without using violence and with just pure faith is pretty badass tbh.

-the vibe is off because no ones used to 8 bit style horror games. -its very quiet, which makes everyone unconformable if they're playing a game to be entertained. -the idea of loneliness and isolation is prevalent throughout, its like one man fighting against the world -the actual jump scares are really jarring because you've been looking at a top down screen with a few pixels of a man slowly walking to each destination, only to get jump scared by a fully rotoscoped and highly detailed demon/dude whos out to get you, it takes you back for sure.
