Interesting how so many people are writting off Novak as he will never win Alkaraz again just because of this finals match... Alkaraz him self said that he still thinks Novak is a superman for reaching WB finals several weeks after knee surgery and not even preparing for the tournament as he usually does. I wonder how would Alkaraz play this WB if he had injury at RG, then knee surgery and play WB after it. Chill out dudes, Alkaraz will be one of the greatest if he does not finish like Thiem but no need to praise him so much, just enjoy this blessing tennis got...
@@smeagol80 there s a few reasons I can think of as to why that's so; one is two victory s in big finals in a row / or 2 from 2 meetings the ve had - both going to Alceraz Second , Djokovic s age ; anyway you look at it , for a tennis player he is in his twilight years , even for him with his legendary physical shape and few injuries Thirdly , Djokovic has had a good few very easy draws in the bigger grandslam s over recent years - helping greatly to be fresh for those finals; but on this one it didn't help him much .... @@johnrenehan7406 I agree with all that you said, probably cause that is the truth, my point was not that, I never thought Nole will win this, but I expected big clash at least. Or maybe just barely loss, who knows. we will see what future brings, Novak will not have positive vibes from all these losses anyway.
Carlos is more athletic and has a more varied shot selection than the big 3 were. The rarest thing that they all had was the heart and mindset to keep improving and stay at the top, it will be interesting to see if he has that. I remember watching Joker demolish Rafa in the 2011 Wimbledon final and thinking Rafa played his best tennis but he couldn't get through him. The Joker was unbeatable but he wasn't.
Alcaraz hits the ball about 10mph harder than others off the ground, his serve gives him easy points (something Nadal never had apart from the lefty out wide), this serve will only improve. Roddick said Alcaraz has the best drop shot of all time, I agree. He is also the fastest, and has stamina for days (when he won the US Open he won 3 x 5 set matches on the trot and he wasn't even tired). He is a beast and I think Novak knows that there is a guy there who has the ability to beat him on any surface and beat him badly. I don't see Djokovic staying around after next year. He would be crazy not to recognize that he's had a good run but this guy is better,

At 21 (and still with 2 GS to go before he turns 22), he already has more GS than Andy Murray. Crazy. Of course we are talking about 10 years from now but with 4 already and with no competition (Sinner is not even close and already older) at least for the next 3 to 5 years.... just like Federer in his first GS's... he could even make it faster.

Tennis fans are hilariously fickle. When Sinner went on a tear, starting late last year, absolutely everyone (you were probably among them) was heralding him as the next biggest thing in tennis and was calling Carlos a flop after a string of subpar performances following his win at Wimbledon. You should've seen the hate against Carlos after he got knocked out by Zverev at the AO earlier this year. Now, everything is perfectly reversed, and it's Sinner's turn to be called finished and overrated. So many plastic 'fans' who only stick with a player when they're winning.
@@AD-nq2nz I've honestly stuck with carlos ever since he first burst onto the scene with his US Open win. I've also always called sinner overrated and I still think he's overrated. His loss at wimbledon was a complete surprise to his fans but to me it was expected. Carlos is not a continuous player, the ATP rankings speak. He is clearly complete, but mass has a problem with hard courts and movement speed (and it shows well on grass and clay instead), and there are plenty of points to be gained in the season finale, but he is an endurance player (and in Slams that is a must).

@@seaneckhart9914 he's better at 21, not better than prime. Go watch old vids. How quickly ppl forget, if they were even fans
@@seaneckhart9914
I think he will only be next level if he can avoid serious injuries and others step up to challenge him. *Federer, Nadal and Djokovic were as good as they were because they challenged each other.*
I hope Sinner will continue to get better as this will actually make Alcaraz an ever better player than he is now which is frightening.
Sinner is still on the rise, we will see that he can maintain his form next year
People need to calm down. He only beat a 37 year old with an injured knee and apart from Sinner there's little strength and depth compared to the 90's and 2010's.
Sinner won AO and Carlos was quick to congratulate him. He also predicted Sinner to become no.1 in 2024. On the flip side, Carlos won RG and Sinner said nothing. Carlos won Wimbledon and Sinner said nothing. Sinner may have all the skills needed to be a grandslam winner, but he is still a petulant little child within.
Sinner is no 1 because Novak was attacked in Italy , and tortured in Paris .
It honestly still baffles me that sinner is number 1.. the guy just isn't as dominant as you'd expect someone at the top of the rankings to be. Remember when fed was number 1? he was breezing through everyone AND he had such an aura around him.
sinner is just... boring. He played 7 tiebreakers in halle, 6 in wimbledon, has lost twice this year to his biggest rival who is practically still a child, and always has physical issues in best of 5 sets. World number 1 just doesn't suit him tbh..
Alcaraz is real number 1 material
@djahquadri cook !!!
You're absolutely right. we all are waiting for his response but he is so insecure. Not a single congratulatory word yet. So childish.
Sinner doesn't use social media and he has Alcaraz's phone number. 1+1=2. Maybe you are the little child that thinks social is the only way to congratulate someone.
That didn't age too well his Olympics loss to Djokovic
I like it when Meddy go brrrrrrrrrrrr lmao, he's probably one of the more analytical when it comes to answering questions like this.
Phenomenal talent and player already and it’s frightening to think he still has levels to reach in his game. Let’s hope for consistency. It’s great that after the big 3 (or 4) that we have the future of tennis in good hands with the likes of Alcaraz, Sinner, Zverev, Medvedev etc
Gosh he reminds me of the times wen Stefi Graf use to play I was watching all of her games now I'm doing the same with this wonder kid beautiful ❤❤
Carlos plays more like Nadal with everything little extra : confidence, power, belief, guile, artistry and defence which has all the characteristics of an attack……however his style of play carries the risk of inviting injuries soon…
@@smeagol80 there s a few reasons I can think of as to why that's so; one is two victory s in big finals in a row / or 2 from 2 meetings the ve had - both going to Alceraz
Second , Djokovic s age ; anyway you look at it , for a tennis player he is in his twilight years , even for him with his legendary physical shape and few injuries
Thirdly , Djokovic has had a good few very easy draws in the bigger grandslam s over recent years - helping greatly to be fresh for those finals; but on this one it didn't help him much ....
Considering the competition he now has, I predicted his lean 2024 season with maybe one big win only compared to 2023 s 3 - so far it's playing out
@@johnrenehan7406 I agree with all that you said, probably cause that is the truth, my point was not that, I never thought Nole will win this, but I expected big clash at least. But that did not happen mostly because of the surgery and not preparing properly. What I am trying to say, media gauge Alkaraz game on how easy he beat Novak but it would not be so easy if Novak was not injured, it would just be small win.
Nothing else is stopping him from winning as many grandslams as he wants. (Obviously someone else can always come along, including sinner who has taken his game to the next level as well)
Everyone was smiling when they got ask about alcaraz. Deep inside their mind , they knew alcaraz was something else
Novak got the shock of his life! Never seen him look so ordinary- King of Wimbledon was made to look like a mouse!
As Tim Henman said, he was completely out of ideas. He had no idea what to do to beat Carlos. He knew baseline rallies wouldn't work so he tried rushing the net, and it just didn't work for him
@@Rory626It was Novak's last bag of tricks, but as good as he is, Nivak like most of the field just cannot initiate any successful plays from up there. Carlos is a natural volleyer and yes Carlos is a blessing for the sport...PEACE✌🏽
It's funny you english people hate Novak the most even though U never had decent tennis player . I think Novak gave you inferiority complex, goat ate your grass 🎻🎻🎻😂😂😂
Very true. If the nerves didn't creep in for Carlos in the 3rd set the result would even look more shocking.
Why you hate Novak so much ? You are on every clip 😅
Terrified no, up for the challenge, yes. It will make those lesser mortals in the Atp to up their game.
i mean if a elder Djokovic could get to the final and get destroyed by Carlos i don't see anyone that could beat him
Carlitos can move and hit, he is very different from the other players.
Let's see how consistent he is ober a long period of time. The distinctive feature of Djokovic is that he was able to replicate the same form for 15 years with a very few episodes of dip of form in between. Considering the physically power intensive rafesque style of gameplay, it will be interesting to see how consistent and dominant he is over a decade.
Carlos has no competition rn and for the next 3 to 5 years (except sinner just a little bit, a lit bit)
BEST LOB , BEST DROP SHOT MAKE OTHERS GIVE UP MENTALLY . AND SPEED VARIATION OF SHOTS , NOT GIVING ANY RYTHM . CREDIT TO BE SHARED WITH FERRERO COACH .
Carlos plays ping pong.
Nole decided not to run for the ball due to the injury. That cost him a bunch. Would have won or, at least had a 5 setter.
Life is not made of would have.. Nole won a place in the final .. he lost in the final against the best player on that day ..Punto final .
We need to accept reality when it happens
They said this about Sampras, Fed, Rafa and Joker. He's on a different level etc. In reality he ain't any different. He's just young and full of blissful energy.
He would be crazy not to recognize that he's had a good run but this guy is better,
Prime Nadal vs Alcaraz at Wimbledon would've been fire!
Nahh I think Prime Nadal would beat this level of Alcaraz at Wimbledon, Prime Nadal was the guy that beat the King of Grass. But I think Prime Alcaraz (which is probably in the future) would probably beat Prime Nadal at Wimbledon. Alcaraz still isn’t at his peak so once we see that, we’ll be able to compare his prime to the Big 3.
@@erickgabrielroblesI think Alcaraz would win, as Nadal exploited Federer's weakness, being his backhand as he did on every surface. Alcaraz has no such weakness and I think his game is just better suited to grass overall, but it would be a tough match either way
@@erickgabrielroblesany Alcaraz would beat any Rafa at Wimbledon, he's made for grass🤷♂️
@@erickgabrielroblesexactly, we don't yet what Alcaraz peak level could be. carlos has a massive serve, and when he starts hitting his spots? watch out. plus his returns are incredible. i believe carlos wouldbe able to beat rafa at his peak.
Rafas net game is superior. All e perts agree he has one of the best net games of all time. Prime rafa was fastest player on court.@iannovak5223
Carlos hurt his wrist before 2023 Aus open and also cramped up at French Open 2023. He could have won one or two of these also 😮
We don't build life on would have.. we will never know. Injuries have been part of tennis before carlos ..maybe rafa or federer or djoko would have won more GS ..but again would have is in the past
Monica seles won 8 grand slams before the age of 20 years. Thanks
he seems to just go into overdrive when he has to!
At 21 (and still with 2 GS to go before he turns 22), he already has more GS than Andy Murray. Crazy. I think he will be passing Boris Becker before he turns 23... if injuries allow, I predict this guy to get to Sampras by age 26, pass Federer at 29, Nadal at 30 and Djokovic at 32, assuming he has a peak, a couple of bad years and slowly winning less...
Of course we are talking about 10 years from now but with 4 already and with no competition (Sinner is not even close and already older) at least for the next 3 to 5 years.... just like Federer in his first GS's... he could even make it faster.
He should've lost much earlier against berrettini but somehow got through with 3 tiebreakers which is always a bad look for a world #1
Nothing crazy
Andy Murray had to compete with a much stronger competition.
I do think Alcaraz is 'great' in some sense but of the '3 greats' two are essentially retired or crippled and Novak is 37 and injured. Other than Novak and Sinner there's no real competition at the moment
I'm not saying Carlos isn't great but we have to be honest about the state of the competition. Yes, Medvedev etx are very good but is Alcaraz's competition comparable to Agassi in early 90s facing sampras, Becker, Edberg, Wilander, Courier, Lendl or Murray in early 2010s facing Federer, Nadal and Djokovic.
@@mickaellandry9726 Same can be said about Federere. On that basis there was never a Big 3 but a Big 2 (Nadal and Novak) because Federer had no competition for quite a long time
come on guys....he just has 2 players at his level and one of them just got out of surgery and is 37, of course he's dominating by lack of competition
Carlieto is the best
Time will tell. Longevity is the proof.
Happy now?wrote something negative about him..now f**k off

I've got a question to those who have been watching tennis for a long time.
If Carlos Alcaraz is considered the most complete 21 year old. Then who was considered before him?
@@mrmarkstv6585 there are a few ; but not all two fisted backhand players like Alcaraz; Sampras for one - he won the US open at 19 , and he was beating all the top players soon after that

Don't quite understand why you (the narrator) thinks he wasn't playing his best. Is it because he beat Novak? Give him his props, man. He just plain played better! AND he defended his title. He came to WIN like he always does, and even if he doesn't win, he's still smiling.
I called this ages ago

"Terrified"??? IDTS,,,,,,, he is not invincible. I say this and I'm a fan of his like I am a fan of all good players.
Novak is bigger than tennis.. ❤❤❤
Like Carlos a lot but he's still going to have off days and get beaten as he has past 12 months sometimes by players he should not be losing too so consistency and remaining fit are key
Also a player like Sinner can match him when he's firing on all cylinders so yeah the futures exciting and the headline here is drama crap
Guys does the one wore hat from usa ? cuz his accent better than all of em
BS - just wait a bit...
Goooooood night! 🎻
That's really what you want to happen
Carlos is not a continuous player, the ATP rankings speak. He is clearly complete, but mass has a problem with hard courts and movement speed (and it shows well on grass and clay instead), and there are plenty of points to be gained in the season finale, but he is an endurance player (and in Slams that is a must).
i dont care what the rankings say. Carlos is the best player of 2024 so far, and only Jannik can make the opposite claim but he has to win USO next month to make it
Wool socks to bed = best sleep youve never experienced🟥🟨🟦
I think this is premature; just as Alcaraz, Sinner and Medvedev emerged, new younger players can rise and challenge their dominance.

@@olgadebartolome1332Absolutely.
what is medvedev doing here....
I agree a new player could emerge, but I doubt it could match Alcaraz’s level, I mean we’ll see. But when Federer was playing suddenly Nadal emerged, then Djokovic and all three of them are still champions. Keep in mind if Alcaraz continues without injury I can assure you we have not seen prime Alcaraz yet, just the thought is almost overwhelming but it’s true.
It is very rare though.
